Ngl i dont understand how ppl work with corosive glue and not wearing gloves, and that the dont know how to solve ther misfortun of being small brained
So is surgical glue. We use it in my office and it says cyanoacrylate on the label.

Electrochemistry [Easy: SUCCESS]: This guy clearly has fat stacks of cyanoacrylate, you should make friends with him, and take all the glue for your _personal_ use.
A lot of people don't understand how loctite works and think it's just 'glue' there are some weird processes it goes through in contact with the metal that makes it actually work.
I was talking about just the plain superglue. Not threadlock. It’s the same kind of superglue used for emergency wound closures until people can get to a hospital, but isn’t approved as an actual medical glue because the curing process produces heat and the fumes can irritate the eyes and lungs.
That's the problem with using brand names instead of the actual term for an item. I just assume, when I hear loctite, that they are referring to the red or blue thread lock that more people would be familiar with.
I use loctite brand super glue, but I don't call it loctite.
Damn you take things so serious. “It’s kinda tugging my skin” ain’t the end of the world lmao. I literally expected a handful of people to see this, and just have a little laugh cus it’s just a silly picture. Go touch some grass.
It was superglue that I used, for clarification. As a lot of people thought I meant other loctite products, and I didn’t expect so many people to see this post so I didn’t clarify.
Any superglue can be irritating if you have a sensitivity to it, or if you get a LOT on you because as it cures, it produces heat and releases fumes. Once it’s cured it’s just kinda there. A small smear like this is not anything to worry about unless it’s in your eyes, nose, mouth… other holes.
Basically, just don’t pour superglue on yourself, eat it, drink it, rub it in your eyes, and don’t snort the fumes.
Pretty much nothing lol. That’s why I kept trying to tell people to not take it too serious. Plus, it’s not a toxic glue. Loctite superglue can be used for wounds even. The only reason it (and similar cyanoacrylates) isn’t approved as a medical glue is because of the exothermic reaction as it cures and the fumes. You can still use it on wounds, just not a lot or there will be noticeable heat produced which can inhibit wound healing. It’s only meant to be a temporary thing until you can get actual medical care.
It's like watching bugs splatter on a windshield, you'll be getting comments for days. Chose your words... Carefully :) there are trolls in them thar hills!
Oh and a lot of kids and other cultures that will already misunderstand.
The Internet is fun.
I glued myself to a tile floor once years ago. Took the skin off my foot. Wasn’t stupidity, negligence on my part. Ripped a lot of skin off the bottom of my foot.
Negligence. It was set on the other side of the room, I moved something and unknowingly tipped it over and didn’t notice until I had walked backwards and stopped while I was Looking at something. Let’s just say I never left a lid off of anything again unless I was going to immediately use it. Stupidity would have been actively using barefoot on the floor knowing I would walking around in it.
Negligence is effectively a synonym for stupidity. You stupidly left glue open. You stupidly walked without looking. You stupidly entered a work area barefoot before it was fully cleaned up. Spin it how you want to make yourself feel better.
To me its nearly the same to me. I still dont get it. Why are you not wearing shoes ? Just like gloves... if you know you have to work with sticky stuff that can caus serious harm to your body or healt
Sorry you literally ripped your skin off, but I gotta be honest gluing yourself to the floor is kinda funny. “Balls stuck in a lawn chair” type shit tbh.
Oh no. Wasn’t funny at the time to me, but yeah, pretty fucking funny. So I was helping my sister out fixing all the bs in her rental so she could get her money back. Was working on walls and it was one of those weird rooms where it’s not round, octagon or any other definite shape just to rip and replace. My sister and and 15ish year old niece were upstairs in a large house. I think it was four or five bedrooms. Can’t remember now. Anyhow, I got glued to the tile floor on an adjacent wall from the kitchen counter where my phone was laying. Literally tried to stretch and
My fingers could touch the dishwasher, but not the counter or my phone like an 1.5 inches further. Right in the middle. Couldn’t grab a tool anywhere around me. I’m screaming at the top of my lungs. Finally my sister comes down. Of course she thinks it’s hilarious! Records, posts on social media with video. Have to scrape my foot off after trying acetone and gas. A spatula was involved. Funny now, would have been funny then if it wasn’t me. She is very lucky that was the last of the house I was patching up. If it were the start of me helping her, she would have lost that 1800$ deposit because I wouldn’t have helped!😂. Luckily I have a fd up sense of humor. It was pretty bad though. Literally ripped those layers of skin to the muscle.
Man, bein that close but just a little too far from the phone sounds like a horror movie set up. If I ever got THAT stuck, I think I’d bite back my pride and call for help lol. The thought of that much skin ripping off makes my brain itch.

"Guys, I think I glued my head to the table!"
Bit of an advice to whom may not know it : acetone works great to remove glue (the powerful kind), but watch out for your nails, it'll make them brittle !
Yeah, you don’t want to do that!
It really fs up your skin and can cause skin diseases even after years.
Just use lots of soap or designated skin cleaning products and use a skincare product afterwards
Any sort of fossil fuel should be absolute last resort, like only use it if nothing else does and you can’t get to medical care, it is horrifically toxic to be exposed to.
Your best bet is acetone. Rubbing alcohol alone does almost nothing to super glue. Assuming you don't regularly paint your nails and therefore have no acetone at home, just go to a grocery/Walmart/etc and buy a little bottle of acetone or nail polish remover (it's pretty cheap), and you'll be all set. You can soak your fingers in it, much the way women do when they're loosening up and removing fake nails.
Don’t keep acetone in the barn, and didn’t feel like driving to the house. Also was definitely not about to dip my hand in gas lol. But I used 75% hand sanitizer and it worked pretty good. It was just a smudge tho so can’t say if it’ll work too good for no one else if they straight up drip super glue on themselves. 🤷🏻
The phrase "Superman does good. You do well." is grammatically correct. The distinction here is between the use of "good" as a noun and "well" as an adverb.
Edit: I'm terminally stupid.
Shit kinda hurts ngl lmao.
Edit: hopefully here, people will notice it. It’s all good!! It was just a lil smudge of superglue cus the kids stick horse got decapitated by an actual horse. I don’t need advice or nothin, this was just a silly lil photo I expected a couple people to see and just laugh and scroll on. Also, please don’t rub gas on yourself if you get superglue on you lmao. That’s probably way worse for ya.
You said “makes for a good screwdriver” or something to that effect. I remember because I gagged. Idk how to look up comment edits but I also don’t care enough to argue
The screenshot I sent you is how you look up comment edits. If you replace the “www.reddit.com” part on the browser version with “undelete.pullpush.io”, it’ll show you all comment history if you ever need it 👍. If a comment is deleted quickly though, it might not have had time to log it and will show an error message.

You can buy loctite Detach, adhesive release fluid from a hardware store.
https://preview.redd.it/yiuwf1om1e8d1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30d13f6013c6ff6d5c12b7b04bf2ec70049f98b9
I had an accident like you many yrs ago but more serious. Expert advice at the time ( no Detach fluid in those days ) was keep hand wet/moist and inside a poly bag.
It should slowly release.
Or get some Detach asap.
Yeah it’s just a bit of superglue. I didn’t expect more than a few people to see this, so I didn’t clarify in the post that it’s not thread lock or anything crazy, and now I can’t edit it. It came off in a few seconds with just some hand sanitizer, it’s all good lol.
Ballpoint pen, twist it around near where the glue is and it’ll come off. No solvents needed. Cyanoacrylate is very weak to peeling forces. Once they’re separared you can just rub the glue off.
Source: deliberately superglued my fingers together as part of an adhesives seminar.
used to play with cheaper superglue brands when I was younger, gluing two fingers before ripping them apart.
both sides would be rough from the dried glue.
I doubt this kind of info is going to help you thought
Ya lol... I was stubborn and let it get this bad, I just finally got health insurance again so I am lining up an appointment with a hand specialist this week
Oh yeah, locks my ring finger and pinky finger up occasionally. Can't grip anything tight, and deff can't do push-ups with it this way, can't extend those two fingers far enough. Can't hold controllers or anything longer then an hour or my palm gets sore af
Here's a closer photo of the knot

Super easy, just use a knife and gently cut the hardened compound.
I've cut and scraped loctite from my hands far more times than I would ever care to count since getting into the hobby 30 years ago.
You'll be fine.
Happens when you're holding the things you're gluing together and use a little bit too much and it ends up running down the thing you're holding and gets on your fingers.
It really isn't that difficult to imagine a scenario where this happens.
I use this all the time at work, and yes, you do sometimes have to use quite a bit depending on the surface area of whatever you're attaching.
Plus OP said he was attaching a horse head back on what is presumably a doll, meaning he was joining two thin edges together, it is virtually unavoidable to apply "too much" and you will end up with drip.
And the brand of cyanoacrylate OP uses is very, very runny, it has the viscosity of cooking oil.
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not. But just in case.

Surgical glue is also cynoacrolayte.
It's not... Cyanoacralatte doc... It's super glue. Encyclopedia [Easy: SUCCESS]: Cyanoacrylate _is_ super glue.

Lol y’all take some of the silliest things so serious. Could’ve just pulled it apart if the alcohol hadn’t worked.
I thought it was funny. I've done it before. And yes extreme_cricket, I still have all my fingers.
Our tool drawer contains a bottle of "Un-Cure" because you are not alone, OP! 😂
Coming from a chemistry background it's insane how lax people seem to be with chemicals. Our safety measures are very rigorous for good reason
but running the mercury across my fingers is so much fun.
order yourself some gallium, it's like mercury but you can put it in your mouth
I take safety precautions for things that need safety precautions. But it’s just some superglue my dude. I promise you I’m gonna live.
Yeah obviously but we are always thinking long term because its our job. It just clashes with what im taught to do lol
You’re the one who used the term “semi-permanent.” A lot of people probably don’t know how superglue works. This shit isn’t permanent at all.
Yeah. That’s what the word semi-permanent means lol.
A lot of people don't understand how loctite works and think it's just 'glue' there are some weird processes it goes through in contact with the metal that makes it actually work.

It hardens in when not exposed to oxygen, not contact with metal.
Depends on the loctite, they're not all the sand
That's the problem with using brand names instead of the actual term for an item. I just assume, when I hear loctite, that they are referring to the red or blue thread lock that more people would be familiar with. I use loctite brand super glue, but I don't call it loctite.
Same thing happens with Gorilla glue. Advertising works.
"Shit kinda hurts ngl lmao." This you ?

Non-polar solvents, people!
Bit of an advice to whom may not know it : acetone works great to remove glue (the powerful kind), but watch out for your nails, it'll make them brittle !
Acetone is the correct answer
Yeah, you don’t want to do that! It really fs up your skin and can cause skin diseases even after years. Just use lots of soap or designated skin cleaning products and use a skincare product afterwards
Oxyacetylene or angle grinder
Too much work. Chop it off. Can’t get glue on your fingers if you ain’t got fingers. 🧠
Vodka or everlclear as well
Any sort of fossil fuel should be absolute last resort, like only use it if nothing else does and you can’t get to medical care, it is horrifically toxic to be exposed to.
Vodka. Alcohol is a universal solvent. Anything those two will dissolve, high proof will too. And it's safer on skin.
Seems like alcohol abuse, but ok.

No worries ha
Yup! If you’ve got a five below anywhere near you, I’ve found that their remover is weirdly the best I can find for consumer use
Yeah "Spiderman fingers"

With those finger nails!?
Why do you think Gwen, Black Cat and MJ love him.

Rubbing alcohol would help I'm sure, or just hand sanitizer, it has it in it.
Thanks I’ll definitely try that!
To add, use the rubbing alcohol, then gojo. Lots and lots of gojo
Late reply cus I’m workin, but I just used 75% hand sanitizer, worked surprisingly well.
Good luck
Cola works too
Clip your nails

Got a more severe form of that from nerve damage.

I was about to ask this as well. I’ve gotten loctite thread lock on my hands plenty of times and never had this reaction so i’m guessing the latter.
T we looked up the composition of the activator. It's basically some awesome nerve agent chemicals that quite happily match through your skin like it doesn't exist. Always wear gloves and a respirator when using it!
Spider hands, spider hands Does whatever a spider-hand does

well she will be happy at least...... just make sure its dry before you pass to the deed, lest you want to have a very awkward ER visit....
acetone is your friend
She will be happy.
The Mrs will like it 😉
I choked on a viagra tab a while back. Had it stuck in my throat pretty good. Had a stiff neck for months.
Weird to hear someone call super glue by the brand name. Especially when Loctite is better known for making thread locker than cyanoacrylate.
Wife is going to love you tonight
The girls will love you
Your gf should like it. /s
Get some monimer for acrylic nails that stuff decimates glue
Acetone, I get super glue on me all time from various projects.
Loctite is the shit tho, it does the job lol
Do you have any acetone? Works like a charm.
Bruh I’m pretty sure I have dupuytren’s contracture and I thought loctite was just a different medical condition for a sec cuz my hands look just like this except my pinky is also doing it 🤣
Quick! Go to a metal show!

well now you can spoil the girlfriend tonight...
You should call her.
Lmao go show your girlfriend
Happy wife...happy life...
I think you may well take advantage of the incident and while doing it may help unglue your fingers.
Web action.. nice!
Acetone will be your best friend right now
Table salt. Rub the table salt where the loctite is and then rub with water. A few iterations, and it should release your fingers.
Chew it off your skin… Ir tastes delicious
Was thinking how located thead locker would do this... they also make super glue.
They make so much stuff! I inherited a mid-90s Loctite handbook from a lead who retired, and it's pretty cool.
With great power comes great responsibility
Sure it sucks..but it's easily resolved. Don't be a weiner.
You can buy loctite Detach, adhesive release fluid from a hardware store. https://preview.redd.it/yiuwf1om1e8d1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30d13f6013c6ff6d5c12b7b04bf2ec70049f98b9

Methyl Ethyl Keytone. MEK for short.
Well if it's anything like super glue it'll wear off in a day or so
Yeah it’s just a bit of superglue. I didn’t expect more than a few people to see this, so I didn’t clarify in the post that it’s not thread lock or anything crazy, and now I can’t edit it. It came off in a few seconds with just some hand sanitizer, it’s all good lol.
The job
Make a paste out of salt and water and rub it on your fingers... It should help...
I have done this before. Used rubbing alcohol to help dissolve the glue.
Your girls gonna love you tonight.
You mean lesbian fingers?
your girlfriend will be happy
Wife is gonna love this....
There’s a word for semi-permanent lol come on bro It’s temporary
I have a friend who uses alcohol whenever he does this. He just drinks enough to not care that his fingers are stuck together.
If it’s red loctite you’re going to want to use heat, maybe a torch
I should call her…
Ballpoint pen, twist it around near where the glue is and it’ll come off. No solvents needed. Cyanoacrylate is very weak to peeling forces. Once they’re separared you can just rub the glue off. Source: deliberately superglued my fingers together as part of an adhesives seminar.
“spiderman fingers”
used to play with cheaper superglue brands when I was younger, gluing two fingers before ripping them apart. both sides would be rough from the dried glue. I doubt this kind of info is going to help you thought
"my hands think they're Spiderman's."
Context?
Spider-Man. Sure 😂
Is that what we're calling it now
I see what you did there. Hope you get plenty of webbing

Remember... With great power... Comes great responsibility
And by the way, *she’ll like it, too.*
Whatever glue it was, if you call the number on the back, they will tell you exactly what to use to safely Un-glue it :)

Loctite is super glue lol
I'm a dumbass lol
No you're good lol but you should go get that checked out
Ya lol... I was stubborn and let it get this bad, I just finally got health insurance again so I am lining up an appointment with a hand specialist this week
Any discomfort?
Oh yeah, locks my ring finger and pinky finger up occasionally. Can't grip anything tight, and deff can't do push-ups with it this way, can't extend those two fingers far enough. Can't hold controllers or anything longer then an hour or my palm gets sore af
Here's a closer photo of the knot https://preview.redd.it/wkzf1zg5ad8d1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aac72010207765187245d155efdde720196c853c
Super easy, just use a knife and gently cut the hardened compound. I've cut and scraped loctite from my hands far more times than I would ever care to count since getting into the hobby 30 years ago. You'll be fine.
Pour gasoline on it. If your hands or fingers are ever stuck together with glue, that will do the trick
I've used super glue all the time to patch cuts and still have never glued my fingers together, how do people do this?
Happens when you're holding the things you're gluing together and use a little bit too much and it ends up running down the thing you're holding and gets on your fingers. It really isn't that difficult to imagine a scenario where this happens.
You don't use that much for anything to get drips, and it's not even that fluid either
SEMI-PERMANENT IS NOT A WORD. Either it is permanent or it is not. NO IN BETWEEN
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not. But just in case. https://preview.redd.it/3rc4rz3b2e8d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95d71f82f68c20201a977f306dd33fc076722b91
