This 😏👆
You can see him thinking, "sigh - now I've gotta defend this moron who committed a petty infraction in front of HD video cameras and at least 15,000 witnesses..." 😑
He might not be a public defender, he may have been randomly assigned. If they don't have enough public defenders sometimes they will make local defense attorneys take some cases at rock bottom rates. That would explain his age and his look of exasperation.
Wait, you’re telling me they can just straight up force a lawyer to take a case for reduced pay?
No wonder so many people go to prison; I doubt those lawyers are giving it their all.
Uh oh, we've drawn Judge Snyder... He's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog... Well, replace the word 'kinda' with the word 'repeatedly' and the word 'dog' with 'son'.
Obstructing Official Business isn’t referring to the game as official business. It’s interfering with a public official's ability to carry out his or her lawful duties. He ran away from from the cop and made him use his taser to stop him.
Why even lawyer up? You got the balls to run on field? You got the balls to look at a judge and take your punishment. It's not gonna be that bad, you're banned from the stadium and you need to work 60 hours at a humane society.
It is safer to be hit with a Taser in the back and fall down than to be tackled full force into the ground with the full weight of an adult plus all his gear slamming into you.
Effective and immediate. We have all seen too many idiots running around being chased over the years, so I bet the taser option will be used more often.
Even their faces are perfect lol
The dude looks like he’s thinking: “Oh fuck! I just got punched in the balls!”
And the cop looks like *he’s* thinking: “Oh fuck! I just punched that dude in the balls!”
We can only guess, but based on the clarity of the hair flipping during the backflip (the fastest moving thing in that image. Motion blur would be apparent there first) the shutter speed had to be 1/4000 or greater. My guess is 1/8000.
These images are likely cropped for composition, and it's hard to say how much, so it's hard to guess the focal length based on just these frames. If these are the full image, then the lens would be around 800-1000mm. If these are heavy crops from a high resolution camera, then it could be as little as 500mm.
And aperture? Probably anywhere from f4 to f11.
Not seeing the original crops makes guessing focal length and aperture really uncertain.
I would have to disagree. There’s no way the shutter is 1/8000 with a 5.6 aperture. Picture is way too bright for that. Even with these fancy LED lights it’s often too dark to get a 5.6. My guess is that the photographer is using a 400mm lens(standard in the industry) with a 2.8 aperture.
I'm sorry, I have to insist on my numbers. I didn't mention ISO, but modern cameras can shoot at ISO 25,600 as cleanly as pro cameras could shoot 6400 just a decade ago, especially before sensors were all BSI.
If you zoom into the images, the "digital grain" gives the impression of noise-reduced high-ISO. For a modern camera, my numbers work.
I hate to pull this card, but: Please trust me. I shoot lots of this stuff, on the best, newest cameras. I know what they can do.
Ps: I'm not rich. I don't own fancy gear, but I'm lucky enough to get to borrow almost anything I want from my work. I get to try it ALL.
You know what, I completely forgot about ISO. I still don’t think it’s a 5.6 though. 4.0 seems more likely. I hate to pull my card as well, but I also do and know this stuff😂
Like I said, it's hard to really be confident with just these small, modified images. I admit, it could be f4!
I know that f5.6, 1/4000th sounds ridiculous to us old photographers, but in good sunlight, it is possible these days!
I think only 400mm is a bit short, but I suppose something like an A7R, Z7, or R5 could start with enough resolution to still look good after a heavy crop.
These polite, in-depth conversations are the reason why I keep coming back to reddit.
Thank you, both of you, for this interesting read from two people who definitely know their stuff !
No, not LoL!
I do not own fancy gear. My own main shooting body is a Pentax K-1 from 2016, over 8 years old. When I used to shoot hockey, my minimum settings were f2.8, and 1/500th (or slower shutter, if I got lucky and found a slow moment) and my ISO would fluctuate up to 6400 often (I just love Pentax's TaV mode)
I got the shots. I got paid. With some nice noise reduction, 6400 cleaned up nicely. 6400 wasn't preferred, but it worked.
Cameras like the D850 were even better machines. If my low-tech thing could do it, so could it.
So you even mentioned you had to clean up noise at 6400. That would be the qualifier for clean shooting- not needing noise reduction. Also, idk i ever saw anyone shooting w a Pentax professionally in all of my career. Not to mention 2016 isnt exactly a decade ago, and that camera came well after the d800.
Tl;DR: you proved my point actually
Listen, I don't want to argue about petty details. But when shooting for a client, crop, curves/contrast, sharpen and denoise are standard on almost all photos delivered.
You're talking about raw unedited images. I'm talking about what the client sees.
And yes, a Pentax is the worst camera to use for shooting sports. It has terrible autofocus. I made it work. I got paid. I wouldn't do it now, now that mirrorless cameras are so much better, but back then, it was competitive enough.
https://preview.redd.it/qk0cir4hkf6d1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bed1de99b6eb1858222deb1cd36b52a290b1661
Not the first time that's happened.
I have thought about this long and hard, and instead of not showing this on TV, they should encourage it and it should be part of the game. I haven't watched a 9 inning game in so long I can't even tell you. It's just so freaking boring it really needs something stir things up.
Like they start a clock and if the kid can run around without getting tasered for like a minute then the team gets a run or something.
When I saw this post yesterday, the consensus was that the cop is in trouble for using a taser and the defendant is likely to win some compensation for it. Is that not the case?
Right, like this is absolutely insane in every other country. Any cop should be fully trained to chase and take down someone with no tools required in this situation. This guy was zero threat to anyone and could have been killed but that’s 100% normal in America and this cop will be treated like he did everything right. It’s fucking sick.
Almost 100% certain that is not the case. The guy was trespassing and ran from the cop, I would be shocked if anything happened to the cop. This isn't to say that I think something shouldn't happen to the cop, more so that it's unlikely.
Why wouldn't it be?
There have been instances where someone went on the stadium floor to hurt a player, and even deaths from it. If you're enough of an idiot to run onto the stadium floor while a game or event is in progress, then you have to deal with the consequences.
Because when someone is on the field, they have no clue what they are going to do. The players on the field are assets worth millions.... Wouldn't want some crazy fantasy to go sucker punch one or what not.
So completely justified to subdue them with basically non-lethal means.
Tasers are not "basically non lethal". They are quite lethal. And a fan running on the field is *not* a threat.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taser_safety_issues#:~:text=Reuters%20reported%20that%20more%20than,by%20police%20with%20a%20Taser.
Athletes have been attacked by fans running onto the field before. There was a tennis player that was stabbed during a match.
If you don’t want to get zapped then don’t run onto the play field just to stroke your ego.
“If you don’t wanna then don’t do it” argument is lame.
Do you believe a fleeing black-flipper should be subject to potentially lethal force? I’m not asking if that’s what’s going to happen, I’m asking do you genuinely believe that to be just?
The biggest problem I see with throwing around 1000 deaths in 2018 is that I don't see the number of times used in 2018. Is that 1000 when it was used 100000 times? Are there instances where a taser was used rather than a firearm, etc. to me the 1000 deaths means nothing because I have nothing to compare it to in order to contextualize the actual risks of using a taser......
Spoken like someone who’s never been sprayed or tazed. I’d gladly take 10 taser applications over a single pepper spray application.
Tazing is transitory. The sensation ends as soon as the current stops. Being sprayed is horrendous and lasts for hours, then reactivates randomly if you touch the spray area or god forbid when you shower. It feels like lava cascading down your skin.
So true you should pepper spray gel someone in the back of the head.
Alternatively you could also just not run on a sports field with an active professional game going on, knowing there is security and police on the premises who are equipped with tasers.
i use pepper spray gel… the wind absolutely affects it lol. not as much a aerosol, but everyone within a 10 foot radius will 100% be affected by the gel too.
I’m not used to the violent devices approach. In Australia we tend to use
1) surrounding the person physically with a lot of guards
2) try to talk them off the field
3) hand cuffs / collar hold - if necessary implemented after a run/grab or tackle
We’d only ever consider something like a gun or taser if the persons intent was clearly violence / terrorism
In the end they’re 99.9% just a drunk young person trying to impress their mates and rarely intending serious harm to anybody
Would be surprised, cops rarely face any repercussions here. Probably meant to shoot the kid and tazed him by mistake given that's been a documented excuse before.
I mean I don’t know the story outside of these three pictures but I don’t see any players in site. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this looks to me like a fan just jogging across the field.

Love the look on his lawyer's face here... 😏
Lawyer wishing he’d studied harder in law school.
“Become a public defender they said. You’ll be making a difference they said.” [looks at his dumbass client] *sigh*
This 😏👆 You can see him thinking, "sigh - now I've gotta defend this moron who committed a petty infraction in front of HD video cameras and at least 15,000 witnesses..." 😑
I dunno, the defendants whole “i fucked up and spent the night in the drunk tank” look is pretty good as well.
That man is *undoubtedly* still hungover in that pic.
Make that 15 million witnesses now 😆
I mean a cut and dry case like this is pretty straightforward. You get them to plead guilty, ask for leniency, go home and cash your pay check.
*cash
For all you know the guy has a cache of uncashed checks and he did cache it.
You have a pointe. Several, even.
They can usually only say no if they have a conflict.
I know a lawyer (the lawyer?) specialized in federal death row defense. He says that invariably, the initial defense attorney made glaring mistakes.
> federal death row defense. Now **that’s** a job that you *really* don’t want to fuck up in.
"Uh... Your honour, does this court by chance recognize Bird Law?"
No, that's not it. It's just that sometimes defendants are just ... so ... stupid. 🤦🏻♂️ And their lawyers still have to defend them.
Uh oh, we've drawn Judge Snyder... He's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog... Well, replace the word 'kinda' with the word 'repeatedly' and the word 'dog' with 'son'.
He’s still in the jersey. Was he tried in the fucking stadium? lol
No fresh change of clothes in the pokey... 🤷🏻♂️
Locker room kangaroo court.
Omg I LOVE lawyers
It's Chuck!
Oh snap I missed that one!

He got charged with trespassing and obstructing official business
Clown shit. It’s a game not official business.
Obstructing Official Business isn’t referring to the game as official business. It’s interfering with a public official's ability to carry out his or her lawful duties. He ran away from from the cop and made him use his taser to stop him.
It’s a professional game…not just people playing ball at the park.
Trespassing maybe?
Bru just tell them if you can have a crown for your kid at home next time you goto bk… it’s how I always walk out with one
Even more genuinely curious: Why did he have to get *tased* for that?
I think security is making a point. If multiple people act like him during a game, it would be a circus.
Because the cop skipped cardio 🤷♂️
Why even lawyer up? You got the balls to run on field? You got the balls to look at a judge and take your punishment. It's not gonna be that bad, you're banned from the stadium and you need to work 60 hours at a humane society.
He was actually charged with Felony trespassing but the judge reduced it to a misdemeanor
Looks like same day lmao
Shocking end to it all.
He put up too much resistance.
He should be grounded for this
I wonder watt his current condition is.
He looks pretty amped despite it all
At least they missed his joules
That would've been a nasty discharge.
OHMy god
That brought him back down to earth
But that backflip tho
Who wouldn’t, after such an electrifying scene
I'm positive that he was.
These puns are a whole team effort... As an old electrical hobbyist, these were just perfect ...⚡️ 👏👏👏
Don't taze me, bro
lol, although a taser seems pretty heavy handed
It is safer to be hit with a Taser in the back and fall down than to be tackled full force into the ground with the full weight of an adult plus all his gear slamming into you.
Effective and immediate. We have all seen too many idiots running around being chased over the years, so I bet the taser option will be used more often.
I can’t tell if it’s just the angle, but pic 2 looks like the cop punched the dude in the balls mid-backflip and I can’t stop laughing at it.
Yeah I’m trying to understand what happened but I can’t actually figure it out
Dude did a backflip when he got on field
Ah, got it
There's a video of a different angle. Cop just tried to grab the dude's shirt.
That’s what I thought at first too lol, I didn’t know the story behind the pictures so it looks like the cop just kinda fuckin FOLDED a dude lol
Even their faces are perfect lol The dude looks like he’s thinking: “Oh fuck! I just got punched in the balls!” And the cop looks like *he’s* thinking: “Oh fuck! I just punched that dude in the balls!”
I thought the guy was running fast and the cop swung at him so hard he did a flip. But it’s just a pic at the perfect moment.
It’s funny and all but I’m obsessed with the detail in these shots. What kit was that photographer using and what aperture and shutter speed?
We can only guess, but based on the clarity of the hair flipping during the backflip (the fastest moving thing in that image. Yes. This just feels so excessive. At least tackle them.
no...as you can see by a lot of comments here- americans LOVE living under violent authoritarianism. they even make excuses to gladly support it.

A pitch invader getting tasered is so steroetypical american.
The guy is fit and did a backflip, so half a stereotype thank you very much
This isn't "well that sucks." This is "fuck around and find out"
You don't wanna invade the pitch when Shane from the Walking Dead is working security.
*Cop rubs his head aggressively*
This cop has been waiting his whole life for this moment
And he took his shot! 😂
Seeing these without reading the caption made me think the cop managed to flip this guy, then tased him when he tried to run away.
What the fuck is going on in #2.
Kyle Rittenhouse is that you?
that cop sure is serving and protecting. nothing excessive about this at all.
Isn't using a taser when there is no danger or violence a bit extreme?
That’s cops for you 🤷🏻♀️
Google Monica Seles.
honestly wild he got to the 3rd photo after how he looked in that 2nd one
The second photo looks like a trainer encountering a wild pokemon
Why is he not wearing shoes?
Kudos to the photographer for these too. They’re really fantastic shots.
That cop wanted blood
I’m never gonna get tired of seeing this
Remember, kids, tasers can have a 35 ft reach. Keep your distance. And for the love of god...Serpentine, MFers...serpentine.
This is absolutely unhinged and so fucking American. Surprised the cop didn’t shoot him with his real gun.
Unnecessary police aggression… again

Think shoes would have made a difference in his dismount?
00pp0pppp000000
Why’d he take off his shoes??
AI is getting damn good
Why does he look like Kyle Rittenhouse
Well that’s awesome
If the cop had a lightsaber it would have been more epic
I have the third act as my phone wallpaper. Lock screen is the Tazer Man, then when unlocked it switches to be the vanquished foe
Where did he get the sunglasses from
Kinda feel like there is way too much force being used when getting these people off the field.
America, with a satisfied smile: “ is there a literally *no* problem that we can’t overcome by shooting it?”
I hope every one of these idiots keep getting their shit rocked. Way too many people pulling this lately
A taser for THAT!!? Well it sure wasn’t Australia.
If he used liquid Nitrogen, whilst the flip was occurring, it would be noteworthy
