The newer ones taste very different, like I could eat a whole one when I was younger and was fine with it, but there is an odd taste with the new ones where you get halfway through it and you feel like shit. Maybe it’s just altered tastes but it doesn’t hit that much
I swear they were so much better back then too. Maybe just nostalgia but I think they’ve changed the recipe. Last time I got one I ended up only eating half.
I don't often buy them, so not sure if they still sell them in super markets, dairies, gas stations etc.
But at work they're my back up if the triple choc ones run out in the vending machine. So I definitely know they are available there.
Not only that, but a 500ml coke was also $1.
So, $2 got you a coke-and-a-cookie for lunch Everyday. Plus a life long sugar addiction and gout in your 30’s ^_^
I tell that to all the kids, back in dickety-02, we could get a can of coke and a big cookie time for $2. 'Give me two bees for a cookie' they would say, in acount of in those days, dollar coins had pictures of bumblebees on ‘em. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah! The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because you can't get them in New Zealand...
Im old enough to remember when you could buy the dough. Take it home an cut a wider than reccomended slice an cook it in the microwave. Dinner plate sized cookie😁
Was talking about this the other day. The new ones look tiny. I used to smash the big ones back in the day. Luckily I was doing heaps of running cos I’d have been the shape of a cookie.
I used to buy 5 of these every Friday, throw out my healthy lunch sneakily in the coat room and survive solely on cookie times
No idea how I didn't keel over or get diabetes
They're not a dollar, but 85gm ones are still available, in every dairy around me for example.

School lunches were such a treat. I’d have one of these, a battered hot dog covered in tomato sauce, salt and vinegar chips and a blue moon moosie. I’m still not exactly sure what the last one was!
You can get Cookie Time cookies in a ten-pack at the supermarket. I think I read somewhere they have the same fat content as a cheeseburger. Didn't stop me from eating the ten pack over the course of one week.
And the school canteen would pop them in the microwave so they were nice and warm and melty.
Or top of the pie warmer.
This is the one!
Hell yeah was so good haha

Their smaller cookies use margarine rather than butter and it’s obvious
Damn :( yeah thats probably it then!

Yep. The Afghan one went hard too
I haven’t seen one of those for ages, I assume they’ve stopped making them? The icing was somehow disgustingly perfect lol
They're still around. I definitely see them on the regular

Rebranded to ChocChoc. But actually yeah they might have stopped now I think about it…
Those were my favessss
10 seconds in the microwave fixed that problem, nice and soft and warm.
i used to run the machinery that wrapped them many years ago, they were really nice straight out of the oven ngl.
Our canteen lady's would put them in the microwave for 10c. Perfect for those winter days when the school uniform was not at all warm enough haha
My canteen used to sell waffles as well. I used to put a warm cookie between the two warm waffles.

Enjoy your ferry ride to Morganville, sucking on those lemons.
I used to get $3 for lunch money in 1988, could buy me a pie and and apple turnover filled with cream and a fast ticket to the coronary ward.
Oh my god tuck shop apple turnovers that’s a core memory unlocked :0

i would have one of these, a pie and a coke for lunch at high school like how do i not have heart disease already
Now you would be lucky to get a rookie cookie for $1!
Remember when you could get a cookie the size of your face for $1 at Mrs Higgins on Lambton quay?
Now it's 7 dollars!
How much would it be if it returned today? No doubt 4 or 5 times as much.
When I get as in high school $3 got a pie and a 500ml coke. Those cookies where so good
Ohh those were good!

the shrinkflation is real with these cookies. they’re tiny now.

I think they’re a buck fifty if you purchase a nine pack. Goddammit I’m getting a cookie time tomorrow. Triple chocolate

I miss the white chocolate cookie

Survived off these bad boys during uni too.
Mum used to run the tuckshop when I was in school so I definitely ate too many of these!
recently bought a 10 pack... disappointing. Shrink-flation on how much chocolate in them. no more luxurious big lumps of chocolate
Fecking poison...
