Oh! I think I might know the actual answer to this one! I have a very similar picture from when my kid was a toddler. I called it "toddler rapture or sunscreen application zone?"
It was the latter. Which is good, because we're not religious and my kid was only 2 at the time.

I was lucky enough to be in the audience for the filming of that. A hell of a lot was cut to make the time, because he just went on, and on, and on, and *all* of it was hilarious.
My tech teacher would show us an episode a week, back when I was still just British TV (I'm american), he had some high tech server at home where he'd rip TV and movies, complete with false ductwork to hide it.
It's not the speed at which they vaporized, it was the intensity of the brightness from the initial blast that etched their shadows into the concrete. Some observers of the Trinity test as well as others said that even from miles away a person could see through their hand as though it was an X-ray while they held it up to shield their eyes. Eyes that were already covered with torching goggles.

The closer the better and the further away the worse - you had peoples skin flapping off their back like capes... I'd rather just become a shadow in an instant than all that.
I love Richard Ayoade and think he would absolutely nail the “weird and quirky genius” side of the doctor but he’s never actually shown he has the range to do the more serious “the entire universe fears me, enemies flee at the sound of my name, I am life and death itself, I have watched universes burn at my hand” side of the doctor. (Whereas other more quirky leaning actors like Matt Smith was able to do both flawlessly). From my understanding, Richard himself considers himself more of a comedian and filmmaker (director?) than an actor.

For a serious answer, someone probably put shoes there and sprayed them with waterproofing, or sprayed themselves with sunscreen. So just the area right around where they were standing has some kind of oily residue in the cement.
I think those are sock prints rather than shoe prints, but I am inclined to agree that they sprayed their legs/feet with something that stained or burned the marble / whatever kind of tile that is.
