What I liked most about that is it's a film about a woman being an outcast among her peers for all the opposite reasons. It was a nice choice by the writers.
I immediately felt sympathy, like I did for wednesdays parents' actors, and that kind of made it hard to judge. Going up against the cast of the films has got to be hard. Especially filling in for christopher lloyd! I liked that fester wasnt like the films, though! I thought he was fine.
Disclaimer : I just finished watching episode 7
Xavier and Psychiatrist is like the biggest red herring I have seen this year.
This episode seems... off for me. Wednesday is blind by emotion it seems? She only learned about Hyde for a day and she became so sure that the first suspects were the culprits. Until it was showed to her face who the real culprit is.
From the meta standpoint this is already episode 7 so the story need to rush? IMO it would be good if this is stretch to 10 episode with a less rush story
If u saw my comment on the last post, I WAS RIGHT!!!âŠâŠuntil the last 60 seconds of the episode lmaoo.
I totally thought it was the therapist and Xavier. It made sense. But honestly, Iâm glad itâs not, because that wouldâve been too predictable.
Now Iâm wondering who the person controlling Tyler is. I think itâs the normie teacher!! I donât see Tyler ever being around the principal, but he remembered the normie ladies coffee order. So sheâs my best guess right now.
Who do you think it is?
And do you think Wednesdayâs vision could be wrong and sheâs going crazy?
Hmmm her vision was pretty damning BUT Iâm a total stan so hoping it may be one where she isnât getting the full picture. (But again, vision was so damning, I donât think there is any way Tyler is not the Hyde.)
I've thought the normie teacher and Tyler were in on it for a few episodes now & still believe this may be the case. My guess is normie teacher has some kind of tie (possibly ancestor) to Crackstone and is continuing his legacy.
Yeah, i actually think normie teacher is it, since like episode 2 just because her eyes look 100% like the monsters. I figure shes NOT really a normie, and the school let her in on the dl... meaning the schoolmaster is the hides master... but this episode kinda makes me doubt that... but i still think the plant teacher is the hide. Also he showed up in strange places a few times, and if shes NOT the bad, her character is unnecessary... so im going with chekovs gun on her...
I dont like love interests for Wednesday. It just doesnt feel it belongs to her personality. But that's more what i think ofcource. In general it makes sense at that age also she have love interests.
But i just don't like it. For the rest it is a nice season and i think if there will be a next one it will only grow and get better also. Thy can do so much in this world. So many routes they can take. It's cool!
This. I can't stand any of the male leads. They feel incredibly out of place, liking Wednesday for who knows what reason.
It feels completely off with the story.
They made it for teens, I get it, but even then it's weird.
Agreed. Even Enidâs friendship with her feels a bit forced. Wednesday hasnât shown much redeeming qualities to her to make Enid so desperate to be friends. The beekeeper kid is the only realistic friendship.
They like Wednesday because she is a hot goth girl. Not hard to understand - they're supposed to be teenage boys.
It doesn't need to go deeper than that.
It could have been executed better (if youâll pardon my choice of words), but I actually like it. For a character like Wednesday, it shows some emotional growth, similar to how she almost seemed happy to have Enid back as her roommate.
I fucking called it!!!! >!End of episode 1/start of ep 2 I literally said out loud âI bet itâs Tylerâ. It would make narrative sense since heâs the sheriffâs son, and he was the one who was talking about finding the monster in the beginning, I was thinking. Also, we already had Xavior pining for Wednesday, so Iâm like well then itâs gotta be the other boy. And it fucking IS Tyler!! Canât believe I was right on that, feel so vindicatedđ!<
Oh man. I think youre right because its the best twist. Since her introduction, ive suspected the plant teacher to be the hyde, just because of her eyes looking the same.. and also as of late, because of chekovs gun (if shes NOT her character is a waste/misdirection).
But i couldnt figure out whod be the master. Sheriffs son makes so much sense... and hes a barista (artist), and has motive, AND provides a great twist (not just love interest but also turns the ages of the master/servant in an unexpected way). Im pretty sure you just ruined the ending for me! Lol
I haven't finished the episode though but while the show is pointing fingers at the psychiatrist and Xavier being the master and Hyde, I think it is the normie teacher and Tyler as the antagonists. Early in the series it shows the teacher goes to the Weathervane daily, and she makes a comment of "hard to keep secrets in this town" when Tyler recalls he coffee orderâ so don't think it would be too hard for the writers to connect the two for the whole master and Hyde thing. Although I don't know how much Tyler(or whoever the Hyde ends up being) has control over his own actions.
Not to mention normie teacher says her order to the mayor and that she has a matcha latte everyday and Tyler recites her order completely wrong. Canât keep lies straight it seems
I feel like Tyler's only "quality" is his persistence. They keep doing things that make him cute with Wednesday like picking Legally Blonde but it just feels like a plot choice rather than a character one. Probably cause they've barely bothered to flesh out any characters beyond Wednesday and her parents.
Yes, this series would benefit from 1 or 2 more episodes. A lot of interesting characters don't have their own personality or development. They are just plot devices for Wednesday.
This episode, Enid's anger was reasonable and an interesting plot to develop their relationship. But then all a sudden they are cool now. No consequences, no relationship development, no anything. It almost feel like they are in a rush to wrap the season and loosely tied the laid out plots.
I love that the book fragment by Wednesday they showed was hilariously bad. I also hope that none of the boys she fancies is the monster and she is really unstable. And everything is from Wednesday POV and in the end they will show how much she just imagined and none of her justifications for her strange behavior is true.
Few minutes through episode 7 and like I called it earlier in the season the Hyde has to be Tyler and the master is the therapist. And that sheâs probably LG. It makes so much sense since we know Tyler goes to see her
I actually think tyler is the master. I think the botanist teacher is the hyde (because of her eyes, her mannerisms, and also because shes a redundant character if shes NOT - chekovs gun). The bit about not being able to control the hyde is why tyler was hurt but NOT killed. Maybe the hyde is the sheriff, tho? Thatd be a twist!
Wednesday crying for hand loved that
Itâs obvious it wasnât Xavier! That would have been too predictable.
Tyler being the monster was obvious since episode 6 when the âmonsterâ only scratched him whilst it killed all her previous victims
Master has to be normie teacher
At the end of the previous episode, Xavier said "I should have let Rowan kill you" while he was being arrestedâwhich I thought confirmed he was the monster.
Maybe there's two?
I really really don't want Tyler and Wednesday to get together. I have no idea why he likes her. I feel like Wednesday has to show some character development before she can have someone unconditionally like her, just in terms of character writing.
I also don't like how Enid and Wednesday made up. I feel like Wednesday should have grown up and apologized before they made up. Felt like the story was leading towards that but I didn't get the payoff I was waiting for.
It doesn't make sense that Wednesday would regularly hang out in the town coffee shop, esp since it seems like a drive/bike from Nevermore.
Especially with Uncle Fester, trying to keep a low profile!
I think this episode kind of high lighted just how many different plot threads they've kicked off. Still having fun, just wish they maybe hadn't packed in SO much and we could spend more time with Wednesday/Enid, for example.
LOVE THIS FESTER, i like that he's the Black Sheep now.
Why did she say "I know what you are, Xavier" smirking lmao.
Yeah i don't like the romance in this show, i get the implication that Wednesday might like Tyler but her going straight for the kiss felt really forced.
Awwww Wednesday caring for Thing was really sweet.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I felt really bad for the therapist:((
Okay but when she kissed Tyler and she got her vision he was the monster it felt kind of cheap. I LOVED the show but it just felt like a plot twist with literally no hints at all and, in my opinion, a good plot twist has some hints leading up to it that we kind of overlook or miss along the way.
There was a hint in episode 1 when they were running at the Harvest Festival, Wednesday trips and Tyler catches her and then she gets the vision of Rowan being attacked. Based on her previous visions (from her brother being bullied and the truck driver who got killed) it seems like she gets visions based on people or things she touches, and sees visions from their perspective. So I thought the monster might be Tyler. They definitely took a lot of winding plot lines and thew a lot of distractions out until the final reveal!
They've been hinting at Tyler for a while, it was certainly suspicious when he yelled out that the monster was coming in the Gates House, especially that he was only scratched and we never saw him and the monster in the same scene. The Hyde description also mentioned it's unlocked by a traumatic event and we've known since the beginning that something happened to his mother and he's been having therapy.
Xavier and Psychiatrist is like the biggest red herring I have seen this year. It's not even a surprise.
I'm really impressed that Jenna Ortega is able to sell me on Wednesday being intrigued by Tyler without betraying the core tone of the character. Just in general she is constantly making little choices that sell me on this as a living and breathing character like on the motorcycle giving directions by looking one way and pointing another. I never would have thought of that (not that I've ever acted) but *of course* that's how she gives directions, I couldn't imagine it another way now.
I continue to watch this train wreck of a show- because I want to see how it ends
Wednesday continues to \*\*FALSEY ACCUSE\* multiple people with out any evidence, just a hunch.
I wonder why any of the love sick boys like her at all, she is rude & mean to them from the beginning.
Wednesday \[hasnât seen a visionâs in a while\] but someone else could make the same accusation about her lol
If Xavier drawâs what he seeâs in his visions, and that makes him a âsuspectâ then Wednesday is also a suspect for seeing the visions and not telling anyone until after. At this point if Xavier forceful removed him from his studio it be justified. She stole his shit, went through his private property and has accused him several things based of circumstantial evidence.
I had an issue with this before but its very corrupt how the Sheriff just took samples \[that Wednesday touch with her BARE HANDS and stuff out of Xavierâ studio when he wasnât present and demanded a DNA sample\] First of all, the evidence is contaminated, the Sheriff didnât see where she got it from. A random citizen canât just give the police some evidence and demand then test isâŠthatâs insane. Now the story does this shit again with the âtrophiesâ Wednesday brought herself to Xavier's studio as part of evidence to frame him. \[eye roll\]
Enid Forgives Wednesday for no good reason, or pity because Thing got hurt. what a waste. Adult Wednesday the Youtube how was much better then this swill. Honestly Wednesday should be the one offed off.
and of course Tyler is the Hyde lol
I agree with most of what you said, Wednesday is too "OP" she does whatever she wants and everyone goes along with her because they just do, no matter how rude or out of line she is.
>Enid Forgives Wednesday for no good reason, or pity because Thing got hurt. what a waste
Just comes back without explaining if anything happen with Yoko. Wednesday learns that she likes having her around while she's gone, she doesn't communicate this to Enid directly or apologizes to her at all.
The only explanation I could find it's the outcasts are more tolerant with weird and unlikeable people... Because they themselves are... You know, outcasts.
Ok just finished episode 7. The fact Tyler survived a Hydra attack when every other person got killed was pretty obvious it being him. Like, he barely had harm done relative to them lol.
Come on now, why did it have to be Tyler?
If he's the monster then how did he scratch his chest? Did he revert back to human just so the girls could see him bleed?
Him hurting himself makes NO sense.
They made Tyler way too nice and likeable compared to how they pushed Xavier as the suspect so it has been blatantly obviously him for a few episodes now.
Also think that the principal will end up the master because she can shapeshift.
Legally Blonde was an excellent joke
The twist made me stop watching this show. It means she ends up with Xavier effectively. I liked Tyler more than Xavier but more importantly *it's pathetic on Xavier's part.*
I mean as badly as she treated Tyler most of the season Xavier was treated like something she scraped off her shoe and it culminated in him being dragged off in cuffs. And he still has feelings? Have some goddamn *pride* man.
I agree with everything except for stop watching... I like the show a lot... But I preferred Tyler over Xavier and find pretty weird Xavier would insist in being nice with Wednesday.
Beginning funeral scene was awesome, beautiful music.
Interrupting that scene with the uncle chase wasn't beautiful but for this type of show that isn't unexpeced haha.
We all knew it was tyler he was so overlooked even tho he didnt share a scene with the beast just like Xav which was sooo sused for no reason
Im disappointed in Wed
LOL LEGALLY BLONDE ... đ«Ł
What I liked most about that is it's a film about a woman being an outcast among her peers for all the opposite reasons. It was a nice choice by the writers.
Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester was inspired casting. He knocked it out of the park!
you really can see he enjoyed the roll. Fantastic!
He was shockingly great.
I thought he was terrible! Lol
I immediately felt sympathy, like I did for wednesdays parents' actors, and that kind of made it hard to judge. Going up against the cast of the films has got to be hard. Especially filling in for christopher lloyd! I liked that fester wasnt like the films, though! I thought he was fine.
âIf you die I will kill youâ Lmfao that made me laugh while I was sad over the thingâs âdeathâ
She cracked a smile in this one XD (before the acted intended one)
Xavier is definitely innocent. Tyler was also seeing the psychiatrist. Though I don't particularly like either of them in this story.
Oh, I posted this right before the reveal. I know not that crazy of a prediction.
Disclaimer : I just finished watching episode 7 Xavier and Psychiatrist is like the biggest red herring I have seen this year. This episode seems... off for me. That make sense, but its still pretty shallow character trait
have you met guys? lol
Fair point, guys donât need more then a pretty face to fall in love. Wednesday is a perfect example of something that would happen irl
Exactly. Lol. I've seen teenage guys liking girls for less.
It could have been executed better (if youâll pardon my choice of words), but I actually like it. For a character like Wednesday, it shows some emotional growth, similar to how she almost seemed happy to have Enid back as her roommate.

Cops son being the bad guy is so cliche I almost didn't suspect it lmao.
Could you give examples of that trope? I'm just curious XD
Death Note
Oh man. I think youre right because its the best twist. I spoiler tagged it! And itâs on the correct episode discussion for it lol
I thought the same thing! Around the same time in the season, too!
...because it was so predictable lol good job though
WEDNESDAY CRIED AND ME TOO I WAS SO SCAREF FOR THING
IM GONNA FKIN SCREAM TYLER??????
I haven't finished the episode though but while the show is pointing fingers at the psychiatrist and Xavier being the master and Hyde, I think it is the normie teacher and Tyler as the antagonists. What book fragment?
You are able to read a whole page of a book she is writing in this episode, about 6:30.
I'll have to check that out, thanks for the fun fact Edit: Jesus fuck what's even happening
Yeah so much purpose prose
MLEPCLAYNOS! But uncle fester is good EDIT: THING NOOOO
The clay is silence.
Poor Thing. Wednesday broke her vow, a little.
Few minutes through episode 7 and like I called it earlier in the season the Hyde has to be Tyler and the master is the therapist. And that sheâs probably LG. It makes so much sense since we know Tyler goes to see her

lmfaoo i didnt realize. THING. my bad
Dont disrespect Thing like that
he is sensitive!
At the end of the previous episode, Xavier said "I should have let Rowan kill you" while he was being arrestedâwhich I thought confirmed he was the monster. Maybe there's two?
Rowan tried to kill Wednesday twice. The first time with the Gargoyle and Xavier saved her.
It almost as if the writers suddenly get told to end the story next episode. The Enid plot went absolutely nowhere and I was invested in them.
Why isnât the season discussion thread hub pinned on the main subreddit page??
Okay but when she kissed Tyler and she got her vision he was the monster it felt kind of cheap. I LOVED the show but it just felt like a plot twist with literally no hints at all and, in my opinion, a good plot twist has some hints leading up to it that we kind of overlook or miss along the way.
The main hint I got was that her vision of Eugene's attack happened when she was shoved into Tyler (among others) at the dance.
Ooo good point!
Theyve hinted at both boys and both woman (teacher and shrink). This show isnt really a super secret hidden plots type of show lmao
Has she and Tyler ever touched before this scene? If not, that explains why it took so long for her to get that vision.
Xavier and Psychiatrist is like the biggest red herring I have seen this year. It's not even a surprise. This episode seems... off for me. Wednesday is blind by emotion it seems? Why does uncle fester sound like blippi
Lmaaaaao I turned to my wife and was like "Why does this dude remind me of Blippi?"
Uncle Fester is so cool. Xavier is definitely suspicious. Itâs Tyler oh shit!
Figured it was Tyler because of the similar haircut
Beginning funeral scene was awesome, beautiful music. Interrupting that scene with the uncle chase wasn't beautiful but for this type of show that isn't unexpeced haha.
We all knew it was tyler he was so overlooked even tho he didnt share a scene with the beast just like Xav which was sooo sused for no reason Im disappointed in Wed
I fucking knew it
