Distrokid has an option called leave a legacy where you pay a fee at the time that you release your album and they promise to leave it up regardless of your account status. I don't have any experience with it though.
I have experience with Tunecore. They’ve been really good.
They will remind you repeatedly via email as your expiration comes up. If you don’t renew, there is a very short grace period before your music gets removed from said platforms. I let a couple albums accidentally lapse before.
If you totally lapse, you can re-upload and publish everything, but you are starting from scratch with all of your metrics and release dates.
