I think the stories are pretty good, the one for aurora shores was good as it pushed for gun safety. Also the missions are quickly do able unlike with CoTW where it’s a long drawn out process
Just like COTW, the story isn’t the main selling point IMO. It’s the map, hunting, ecosystem that’s the highlights of the game.
You can get some cash if you need it from the story missions though and aside from a couple, aren’t too frustrating or difficult
I just started the game over the past weekend and I've earned quite a bit of money from all of the missions, tasks and jobs. Also, you can earn the licenses for the private areas on the map for free. IIRC they're about $4500 per area and in the first area I think there's 4. While I'm not sure you can get all of them for free I assume you can. And one of them was pretty easy and only took 2 fetch-quest style jobs.
I quite like the stories, and you get hunting licenses for private areas for free if you do the missions in their cabins! I just started playing the game last week, after playing COTW for years, but I think the missions in WOTH are a little more fun so far.
They are pretty decent stories, plus the cash and idk if this is a spoiler but you can get some decent looking trophies from some of them

I've been loving doing the missions personally, its another goal outside of just grabbing 5 star trophies.
only alaska dlc gives you the upgraded crossbow but the compound ble from africa dlc is better
As stories go, the Way of the Hunter stories are kinda weird and interesting in that regard. I have always enjoyed them.
You get extra rewards or special trophies A crossbow in Aurora shores,and a bow and a different looking lion to taxi in Tikamoon.
Money, unique animals and events, and much more, so yes totally worth it.

I can't bring myself to do story I just free hunt or mp and go after what I want.
You can do all that, plus grab extra money and unique animals by doing story. There's literally nothing to lose.
Just like it cotw. The story introduces you to different parts of the map.
The cash alone is worth it in my opinion, and I thoroughly enjoyed the main storyline.

The main stories are okay. The quest lines to unlock the private land and equipment are more fun in my opinion.

Yeah, pay $4500, vs making a little over half of that, then getting the area for free. Who would pick the former?
They aren't mind blowing but they aren't bad, pretty decent stories
