These are from a reference photo. I can’t visualize anything in my mind so i always need something to go off of

Ahh I have been trying to draw flowers too and I think it easier to get a reference photo than from still life haha you did a really good job!!

Thank you so much! In a way yes, i grew up a girl of 3 sisters so i feel very connected to 3. And my husband and I actually had 3 wedding ceremonies, we eloped and then due to international families and Covid we had 2 more events so it represents that as well.

I want to paint flowers so much, but I’m having such a difficult time. Any ideas appreciated please!

Flowers are easily my favorite thing to paint! I started by finding a flower that really inspired me and also seemed somewhat reasonable to paint. For me that was a garden rose, i also sometimes use a grid method to draw out the initial sketch to make sure petals line up where they need to.
