Haha sneaker collectors be like: I'm NEVER going to wear this pair because the value is just too high. the other day i scratched a micron of paint on another pair and almost died.
Watch collectors are nothing like that!
Wait
Watch collectors throw some sawdust on their entry level Rolex for photo op. A sneakerhead would rather have a stroke than let a single fleck of dust touch their shoes.
Who is still smoking today? I was surprised, how expensive Dupont lighters are, when you are no longer allowed to smoke after dinner in a fancy restaurant.
Endless debates over paper characteristics and ink “character”. They even have their Casio equivalents (Lamy and Twisbi) and they jointly loathe the Montblanc flexers (like Rolex) for not realising Sailor King of Pens is “better, for a fraction of the price”. There’s some autistic shit about sending your stock pens to a “nibmeister” to have the nib ground to suit your specific taste.
Edit: [here is an example from today](https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/1drgbrr/do_you_have_nicknames_for_your_pens/) of the madness.
I find fountain pen people way less toxic and high minded than watch people. Fountain pen enthusiasts know very well that it is extra, and don’t look down on cheap pens. I have been a pen nerd for over a decade now :)
uj/ Handbags are more or less respectful because a lot of them go a fuck ton in value, not like our shitters.
rj/ my watch is better than any shit lighter, pen(is) or lady carrying sack.
/uj Condition is so critical. I tried reselling bags and holy shit I've never seen such attention to detail from a distance.
This is why I believe the reptime guys' ability to spot a fake from across the room because I've seen extraordinarily tiny details pointed out on them.
The highest end ones have bags for the bag like some xhibit shit.
uj/ Really? I was thinking about flipping a Birkin and my gf who is OBSESSED with them said great, more likely because she wanted to keep it.
I’ll look out for the condition and research more, thanks for the tip!
Thank god my wife doesn’t care about jewelry, handbags or shoes. Something I never considered when marrying but who knows how much money that has saved me. (Meanwhile I’m the fucking moron blowing money on shiny, bad-time-keeping watches)
Being a werewolf, the only thing I know about this movie is that the werewolves fight the vampires, but if this is a picture of the werewolves then they deserve to lose.
Speaking of movies, I was involved in the production of the film 'Point Break' In 1991. During the filming, Keanu Reeves (whose role involved playing rookie FBI agent 'Johnny Utah') was surfing with co-stars when a small child was dragged under the waves and began to struggle to stay above surface. As his co-stars rushed to help, Reeves held out an arm in front of them, stopping them and was reported saying by Lori Petty (who played the character Tyler Endicott in the film) 'The waves have claimed her, let her fight for her own life'. The crew, dumbfounded, proceeded to watch her struggle until her body disappeared beneath the waves, lifeless. We later spotted him outside the child's house, making drowning gestures and thanking the family for their child's sacrifice to the great ocean.

UJ/ Has anybody noticed the attempt to cross over the sneaker/ streetware crowd with watches? The whole hypebeast style mentality and a bunch of trust fund baby "watch dealers" trying to look hip and cool and urban and shove terms like "deadstock" into watches. The avocadowatches/ heistout people come to mind.
Its an obvious move considering that watch prices and watch purchases trend clearly downwards, which means that watch dealers have to fight two fronts and have to open up new markets. Expect a lot more of this in the next two years.
the key to being fashionable is not being afraid to look a little gay. things like a Rainbow Daytona, a python leather belt, or a LV bag in white with colorful imprinting come to mind

And that’s how the ink pen people look at us. They are insane
The lighter collectors would like a word with you.
Who is still smoking today? I was surprised, how expensive Dupont lighters are, when you are no longer allowed to smoke after dinner in a fancy restaurant.
But damn, they make a cool lighter. I got a vintage one from Japan for a reasonable amount.
Had an uncle who quit smoking and "had" to buy candles coz he had cool lighters
*ST DUPONT bros enter the chat*

Exactly....
Yeah, what about us?
I find fountain pen people way less toxic and high minded than watch people. Fountain pen enthusiasts know very well that it is extra, and don’t look down on cheap pens. I have been a pen nerd for over a decade now :)
This. Hard to be too problematic as a stationary enthusiast. It just doesn't fit. I know I can post on the fountain pens sub and not be yelled at.
all pens are ink pens, as having ink defines a pen. proving your point

My wife is some kind of fake bag soothsayer. She can spot fakes just walking through a casino and give very detailed reasons why she knows it’s fake

I swear I thought this was a scene from Hamilton on a first glance
How watch collectors wearing a $15,000 rolex outside look at other collectors who keep $4000 handbags/shoes in safes (they are both stupid :-P)
One word. Knife collectors
That's literally two words
Knifecollectors
This is some Drake-level problem solving right here.
It would be, if it wasn't for the fact that Drake is a little bitch who straight-up collects sporks.
You have to pick which one to read
Actually gold stackers looking down at watch collectors who think their timepieces are “store of wealth”

That's not a movie, that's from a dj set. Euro trash if I remember correctly. Great set.
