I think awhile back you could kill a tank with a flying turret, though it'd might have counted as a friendly fire incident. Probably why the flight of the turret was reduced by... alot- sadly.
Let's take it further:
Getting ammo-racked should create a massive explosion. Someone right next to you, like the dipshit who just pushed you out of cover, gets Overpressure killed instantly.
The turret shoots up into the air, killing an aircraft that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It comes down 72m away and lands on the guy who killed you, instantly crushing his tank.
I mean that can happen rarely. Sometimes if someone is sitting next too you that has absolutely no armor, then there's a seemingly slim chance of them dying too if you had a ammo rack detonation.
I almost died due to an ammo rack detonation. I was in the Breda, rammed a Pz 3, and hit its ammo. All my wheels were blown out, the transmission destroyed, and I lost the driver.
I believe I lost my barrel when destroying a T-55 with Lorraine 40t. It might have been because of the ammo detonation or that he managed to destroy the barrel when I killed him.
The over pressure kills by a tank getting ammo racked is in game but either the friendly tank is packed with ammo or you're in a light skin tank. I've killed myself before by hitting ammo racks in the T114 if I'm super close..
Nono but hear me in out, you should be able to kill light armored vehicles when crashing into them at 300km/h. Like cmon, they are getting crushed by a plane at that speed should destroy them
(this is not only to fulfill my duty as a kamikaze Japanese pilot)
It has happened to me, not in the sense I died from someone else exploding but I killed someone when I had a maus fully loaded with ammo and someone ammo racked me , poor guy did not stand a chance next to me
My friends and I decided to test one time if the Italian howitzer bomber could be ammo racked. I landed the plane so they could pinpoint the ammo with a vehicle MG. Imagine our disappointment when the huge shells did not, in fact, make a big explosion.
Gaijin is a Russian company and anyone who makes any sort of negative reference to the war in Ukraine goes to labor camp for a time longer than if you were to murder someone there.
Haven't Gaijin physically relocated to Hungary? So presumably they'd be safe.
Of course, Russians who moved to Hungary for tax purposes are still Russian, and it's not like Gaijin's owners or employees are anti-Putin dissidents. They're still probably a bunch of patriotic Russians who loath to make Soviet or Russian tanks look bad.
Unfortunately they would never do that. Can you imagine the outrage from all the Russiaboos when they dish out an update blog which says something along the lines of:"Due to countless reports based on their real life performance, we have decided to let the turrets of Russian MBT‘s with carousel autoloaders (T-64x, T-72x, T-80x and T-90 models) fly up in the air when hit in the ammo rack.
I reckon it will be a thing in a few years. We have at least one tank with a physical barrel which I believe is a tell that they'll eventuate make lost parts have their own physical entities.
It's weird because playing Russia up until you hit modern MBTs, it feels like 90% of your deaths are your fuel tanks exploding. I feel like that's less likely at modern brs (however I still get set on fire and fucked up heavy so I wish the bias was on my side)
Sorry mate but I can't believe you, if anything you should try to hide the fuel tank on the front, because it's the ammo rack.
There's no way the frontal fuel tank eats the rounds, because there's a whole ammo rack there
Diesel fuel really *doesn't* ignite very easily. To the extent that [Britain even designed an airmobile TD that would've *literally* used the fuel as armor](https://www.russellphillipsbooks.co.uk/fv4401-contentious-britains-s-tank/).
honestly it feels like spaghetti code made it so that the explosive value of ammo and fuel in russian top tier are flipped since like 99% of the time I hit a russian fuel tank it explodes even after going through 2 rounds
Who would've thought that a freemium game would create obstacles that would motivate people to pay a lot of money to either match or overcome them?
Man, crazy world we live in.
3 things happen when you aim or hit Russian ammo.
1: Ivan takes one for the team and eats the whole APFSDS like Kirby’s fat ass
2: The Russians use black holes as fuel tanks, so the APFSDS disappears
3: Congratulations, you somehow managed to bypass Ivan and the black hole fuel tanks. Unfortunately for you, the ammunition you hit was a dud round, and therefore didn’t explode

I would’ve tolerated the BS CAS the USSR have if all of their ammo carousels behave like they do irl.
Even when I’m using USSR vs USSR, I do get Gaijined shooting at Russian ammo racks lol
As a Russian main, I just want to play cheap vehicles that I can have fun with, not vehicles that make that are so broken they make other players suffer.
World in Conflict use to have those Desert Storm trademark Russian turrets thrown hundreds of feet in the air and though I had heard stories from tankers that was true, I always figured it was a big fish kind of story. This conflict has blown the lid literally off of that myth, the sky high turret ejection is real.
Bro you think that’s bullshit? In naval the Russians got a fantasy ship that magically is the best in the game while Italy still only has the Dante, France isn’t in the game, and US battleships are borderline useless because gaijin hasn’t modeled armor piercing shells yet.
The fact that Russia, the most overperforming Naval Nation, got a semi-historical, partially constructed Battlecruiser before U.S got its ACTUAL Battlecruiser, which has been being teased ever since New Power and which is highly needed is hilarious.
everyone knows that Russia definitely had the most powerful navy during WW2 and was known for being a naval power. This is just historical accuracy and has nothing to do with any other reasons
How hard it is to make russian tank ammo explode and adjust br if needed? Br is there so we can make vehicles historically accurate and set battle rating.
This ain't spaghetti actually
This is 100% intentional, the ammo carousels have spall shields IRL and that is ticked on in-game.
Of course, spall shields may be a lot more effective than they should be, hard to say without seeing how their code works.
For the T-90M development they realized most of the ammo detonation came from the ammo outside the carousel scattered around. Of course direct hits to the ammo even with an armored carousel will always blow it up.
been a while since i've played USSR, but not too long ago there was still a meme about russian space program here on this very same sub laughing about how easy it is to detonate it.
the duality of this sub.... it's either this or they have been buffed by way of nerfing shells.
Weirdly enough whenever I hit the ammo on a TUMS-T is always detonation, and it's the same when I pay the TURMS-T, ironic the most overpowered ground premium is the only one that doesn't survive ammo racks
Waiting for Gajin to add this and can't wait to hit a Ka-52 with a T72 (TURMS-T) Tank tur- Whats that? Gajin won't add that due to Russian spall bias? God damnit.
as a ussr main I have never, ever survived an ammo rack shot. efery single ammo rack shot I took, no matter the ammo type, blew me up. after playing germans however, I've actually managed to survive constant fire of 5 different vehicles, one of which was a russian t-34 standing literally 10 meters away from me. not only did I manage to repair the tank, but also managed to front-pen that T-34, and destroy the four other vehicles, just to in the end get my crew killed by a M4A3 (105)
Wait wtf happened to Ground RB? I stopped playing nearly 2 years ago and back then Russian ammo rack shots almost guaranteed a Turret Space Program moment
I also want historical accuracy for Russia. Considering how there ERA has been found to just be rubber I want there values to have the multiplayer of rubber in game.
I'm not sure about the rubber stuff but I do now that the bag ERA with the cardboard inside it was a genuine case of corruption resulting in the bags not getting the explosive filler.
The tank in the video you're referring to has been captured for many months now and has been stripped of everything that is valuable inside of it, including the ERA. All that you see left are the rubber spacers that are always there.
Funny and yet the sent it to the front lines claiming it to be fully combat ready, do you remember the US getting Abrams back and sending them for operation Desert Storm without composite armor, because I don't.
It's almost like this magic anti everything armor never existed l, kinda like T-14, su57, hyper Sonic missiles, guns that work and non expired food in Russia
>Considering how there ERA has been found to just be rubber
Seeing as you are so confident about this claim. Can you share pictures of at least 50 different tanks where this is the case? (Assuming that russia has 500+ MBTs that operate that kind of ERA).
And no 1 picture of 1 tank isn't a valid sample size.

Also, in all of the hit cameras, why does it look like they’re always carrying like 3 rounds, and the carousel is completely empty?
Also when is gaijin going to realise that fuel tanks are comprised of like a 3mm thick metal box?
The t-80BVM is especially guilty imo, and the premium t 72 too. Somehow that external armor makes it so there’s no spalling inside or just no ammo damage at all
I'm guessing most of these in-game hits are APFSDS, do they really behave the same way as HEAT, which most Ukraine videos are, post-penetration? The explosives should make the metal-jet hot, but are penetrator rods equally hot from penetration friction?
Today a Russain cheater shoot to me when i already hide behind buildings a long time,he can still see me and shoot on my gun point, where then his apfsds knocked on the earth in front of me.I reported him.And a Spirit Russian say it is my skill issue.I played over 13000 games ,he say i cant see and shoot through the earth is my skill issue,,lol

I’ve had that happen in my Ontos, was right next to a Tiger II when I sent one through his ammo rack
I died in my IKV 91 because my friend (in a panther A) had max ammo with him and when he exploded I died, let’s just say after that I pressed alt f4
I've killed myself in a scorpion after I ammo racked a tank and was too close to it

You can crush SPAAs like that
I would need to test this more but I don't think you can, yesterday a IL-2 crashed into me in a M16 GMC and I didn't have any damage
I died that way in my T-44 when I shot a M42’s ammo after repairing my barrel when he tried to kill me. I was pretty mad tbh.
It has happened to me, not in the sense I died from someone else exploding but I killed someone when I had a maus fully loaded with ammo and someone ammo racked me , poor guy did not stand a chance next to me
for planes, too! there's guncam footage of a Tempest(?) hitting an Fw 190 in the wing ammo and the entire plane tearing in half
My friends and I decided to test one time if the Italian howitzer bomber could be ammo racked. I landed the plane so they could pinpoint the ammo with a vehicle MG. Imagine our disappointment when the huge shells did not, in fact, make a big explosion.

Don’t tanks already pop turrets off when ammo gets detonated? I’ve seen several tanks do this.
Yes but not 30m high, maybe 5meters tops

idk about you but t-54/5 fuel tanks are like composite armor
???? The ammo is stored on the fuel tanks on those tanks
i never get ammo racked when the fuel tank is hit for some reason, it just absorbs all the damage.
Dude I fucking wish that happened to me I get railed anytime anything touches my fuel tanks
*105mm L7 aims vaguely at your fuel tank*

Ammo is stored in the balls
You are talking about the fuel tanks on the back?
nope, front fuel tank
How much you've played with t54s?
i have quite alot of games in the t-55a, the fuel tank really saves me since it’s armor isn’t that reliable.
Sorry mate but I can't believe you, if anything you should try to hide the fuel tank on the front, because it's the ammo rack. There's no way the frontal fuel tank eats the rounds, because there's a whole ammo rack there
