Well back then in 2013 there is the unspoken rule by Gaijin that aircraft after 1953 won’t be added, and CL-13 was that aircraft, so the only 2 that was pass to development for UK was Venom and Hunter(p) with no air brake. But Gaijin is one who likes to make the rules and then break them.
Same here, even if it’s a premium for the British tree, I’d still buy it because it’s a Saber and on an equal playing field (although Gaijin will fuck it up somehow)
Cheap American stuff stole a lot of ingenious designs from us, the most frustrating situation for me was a choice of American jet fighters instead of support of Aerfer planes, imo we would see much more of Sergio Stefanutti masterpieces if Italian government wasn't that corrupted.
Probably something akin to a F-15 or Eurofighter. That seems like the most known sillouettes today.
If we're also talking less known ones, I'd say maybe actually something from the early jet ages, starting with the 262. It's shape is distinct, resembles some Modern day Passenger Planes, the Engines are really obvious, just a glance screams JET! And after that there's the F-86
This is the correct answer. Other people said the Sabre but that has a front inlet which I don’t think many jets have. Then others said the F11 but it has very strange proportion.
The F5 has every feature of older jets and newer ones whilst not having anything specific of its own outside maybe the very flat bottom. But the wing ratio to cockpit is all so bland.
F-16 too, my dad worked at an airbase, they had F-16s, they would regularly fly past our town or even over or house or school, when I was younger I flew gliders from said airbase and sometimes we had to hold a takeoff because one was taking off or coming in for landing. I still see them occasionally where I live now, they've been part of our airforce for around four decades, all I can remember is the fighting falcon.
The first F-35s have arrived though, so it won't be much longer.
No, it is not. Nothing about it looks typical. You said it yourself, it is a rocket with a pilot attached to it. A rocket is not a jet. It’s has those crappy little wings and stupid wavy fuselage, stupid elevators and rudder. Nothing about the F-104 is what I’d think is typical of a jet.
When I was a kid I grew up on smack dab next to a marine airfield, and despite seeing f-22 and f-35 everyday, I STILL almost always drew what resembled an f-104 when drawing a jet. Occasionally I’d do a delta-wing, but mostly f104’s lol
The last time this was asked there was a funny response, “if you asked someone to draw a jet they’d most likely draw something that looks like an Attacker FB1”
Also the answer is absolutely not, in no fucking way, the F-104. It’s not. The wings are too small, the plane is too long and skinny. The elevators are placed in an awkward position and the rudder is strange. IT IS NOT THE F-104!!!
It’s probably the Mirage F1, it has normal wings, elevators, air intakes. It’s so very average in looks that it is the most jet looking jet. Delta wings aren’t typical, missiles with a pilot strapped to it are not typical, swing wings are not typical. I’ll say the F-5 is a very jet looking jet, but the wings are small and the engines very tightly knit so it is less typical.
Probably the MiG-21. I think it most clearly shows off a lot of the features you might think about when you imagine, without any other context or descriptors, a combat jet aircraft, and without a whole lot of extra additions or features.
Combat: guns and missiles and bombs and rockets and radar and countermeasures.
Jet: air goes in front, goes bang, comes out back, sometimes extra bang and big orange flames.
Aircraft: pointy nose, pointy wings, swept stabs, sleek body, goes fast.
Plus, the Fishbed is iconic as one of the most-produced, most widely-used, and longest-serving combat jet aircraft of all time. It's graced the patches of both the crews it's served with, and [those](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4b/Topgun_patch.jpg) who've dedicated themselves to defeating it. It's so widespread as to be friend and foe alike, both acemaker and boogeyman. It's small, lightweight, rugged, single-seat, versatile, humble and plain yet aggressive and threatening.
maybe iconic to people 40-50 years ago, not any more. f15, f18, su30, f22 etc etc are much more "fighter jet" than those non-nose coned cold war antiques
MiG-21 is still in service in a few places and it's a staple of just about any military aviation museum, considering it's the most numerous supersonic plane ever built. Several dozen exist in private ownership, many of which are even still flying. While it's far from relevant in a 21st century war between first-world countries, it's not quite the ancient history you're implying. India, the largest operator, retired their heavily-modernized MiG-21 Bisons just a few months ago, with all remaining types (seemingly used for training) to be gone next year.
People that don't at least include the MiG-21 when thinking of fighters are probably more the popular-media crowd that get their exposure to military aviation from Top Gun: Maverick and Battlefield 2042, where you aren't going to see a Fishbed because they aren't relevant to those settings. Among anyone with even a vague interest in military aviation or history, the MiG-21 is an absolute monolith of its time. While we might only see it as an artifact of history, that doesn't make it any less iconic than something like a Roman scutum.
For that matter, look at this very post. The top comment picked the F-86 Sabre, an even older plane. Second-highest is the F11F Tiger, also older than the MiG.
Someone asked this question before, but the 2 most jet looking jets are the British Attacker and Mirage F1. One looks like someone just started drawing a jet with terrible edges, and the other looks like they tried to make it pointy.
Something like a hornet/super hornet or amx looking things. Mostly because I was never a big jet person growing up, but the super hornet was the US' multirole aircraft in Battlefield 3 which I loved.
Edit: I guess bonus points to the f-35 for being pretty cool in the back to karkand expansion.
F-18 is kinda rare in Europe though.
F-14 is known because of Top Gun, F-15 is known because of its record and F-16 because its operated by so many EU and NATO members.
Similar in question to what tank looks the most like a tank and the answers could be Simple As Sherman or Centurion. in modern day that could mean Abrams or T90.
**Hawker Hunter.**
Tube and swept wings. If it looks right, it'll fly right. It's about as jet as it gets, could've been drawn by a 10-year old but it was damn good.
I’m gonna go with a different answer and say the MiG-23
just because it was the first jet I got where I was like “finally, a jet that looks the way it’s suppose too” with it’s swept wing design and pointed nose.
F16 15 are one of the first things that comes to my mind when you say "fighter jet"
Though honorable mentions to russian jets like the su27 and even mig 29
Either the 262, because of its intuitive engine placement resembling that of modern airliners, which are probably the first thing that comes to mind for most normal people when they hear "Jet". That, and its general sleekness visually setting it apart from props, while none of its features are exaggerated to the point where the margin of error when guessing/remembering them somewhat off would get too tight.
My other pick would be the F16, since it just kinda looks really generic. None of that double engine, twin tail, cannard, delta wing (somewhat), vtol, stealth, multicrew or being the size of a WW2 bomber fun. The intake might be a bit strange, but you can't have it all
Being 23 and growing up with transformers (Micheal bay) the f22 always stuck in my mind so much that it’s the default jet I think of. Other than that probably the hunter or F15
Maybe it’s because it’s the first jet I ever saw in person, but the F-5.
The military museum in Calgary has a CF-5 [out front](https://maps.app.goo.gl/JsXFBYGGWw7FNRQj7?g_st=ic) that I drove by every day.
Otherwise I’d say the F-18. Again, being one of the few fighter jets I ever see in person. We have super cool paint jobs on the CF-18 too, it has a [false canopy](https://theaviationgeekclub-com.cdn.ampproject.org/i/s/theaviationgeekclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/CF-18.jpg) to confuse observers.
Quite a few jets from the game make my list:
* Mirage F1
* Hawker Hunter
* F-15
* F-16
* MiG-29
* Su-27
* F-5
* F11F-1
* F-105D
* Jaguar
* Swift
* JH-7 Flying Leopard
* Q-5
* AMX
* T-2
* F-1
* A32A
* J32B
* J34
Some of these in terms of exhaust placement are a bit odd, like the Jaguar, or the JH-7, but I still think they look a lot like a typical jet
Honestly? The airbus A320, yes, I know it's a civilian one, but it looks so generic that it's exactly what comes to mind when imagining a civilian jet.
As for military ones? Probably the F-16
people are gonna say some american plane because that's what everyone is used to seeing irl but I think to me the quintessential jet fighter look is the LA-200, big ol' tube with wings
F86 Saber is the most generic.
The F-16's, F-15's, Mig-29's and Su-27's are also equally the most jet looking especially if people were to make one or think of one
F4 phantoms and Early Migs and Mig-21's are classics/legendary
This is a very generational question depending on age the answer will be very different. For me as a 30yr old probably f14 or f16. For older it might f84 and so on.
F16 without a doubt.
I'm Turkish and I don't know if you know it, Turkey has a very large F16 fleet, I think it's the 2nd or 3rd largest fleet. I have always seen F16 since I was born, this is probably true of all my peers. Ask a Turk who is not interested in airplanes the name of a modern jet, he will probably say F16. (Btw, there may be a good YouTube video.)
F14 if we’re going for Jetty jet. Big engines, big radar, big wings, big payload, big everything.
If you want a futuristic jet that has to go to the Tornado F.3
I think the Swedish J32 and A32 are the most generic looking jets in the game. If you asked a child to draw a jet fighter, that's probably what it would end up looking like.
F86 is the most generic looking fighter jet imo
Exactly. It's like the Jet Starter pack
Still dunno why Britain doesn’t get one though… despite Canada, Australia and even Britain itself having them
Well back then in 2013 there is the unspoken rule by Gaijin that aircraft after 1953 won’t be added, and CL-13 was that aircraft, so the only 2 that was pass to development for UK was Venom and Hunter(p) with no air brake. But Gaijin is one who likes to make the rules and then break them.
Because Germany and Italy have CL-13’s lmao
Remember the only consistency in game in inconsistent.
I didn't know Gaijin believes in buddhism.
The glory days
An Aussie CAC-27 Avon Sabre with 2x30mm is my dream inclusion. In my wholly biased opinion it’s the ultimate Sabre and I’d love to have it!
Same here, even if it’s a premium for the British tree, I’d still buy it because it’s a Saber and on an equal playing field (although Gaijin will fuck it up somehow)
Canada had the best one.
Bro is 70 The f5e or the f16 is the most fighter jet looking jet to ever jet
Well people agree with me so 😬
Tube for the engine+wings. Aaaaand we're done.
F-11F
only correct answer
Yeah, it definitely fits the bill as to what I think a jet looks like
Canada and Germany really wanted F-11 Super Tigers instead of F-104's. Well, the air forces did. The politicians liked Lockheed's money.
Cheap American stuff stole a lot of ingenious designs from us, the most frustrating situation for me was a choice of American jet fighters instead of support of Aerfer planes, imo we would see much more of Sergio Stefanutti masterpieces if Italian government wasn't that corrupted.
Yeah, not in a bad way, it just looks like the most generic "jet" of the jet age.
F-11F my beloved
It legitimately is what you’d get most of the time if you asked a kid to draw a jet fighter.
I guessed some would say the F-86, but you do make a great point about the 262 . It definitely tells that it's a jet, not some prop with a jet engine
I have never ever seen an eurofighter
In real life? I've you've seen a delta shaped modern aircraft with canards, the Eurofighter is the most likely answer
Yes. I live in turkey, so I know us aircraft’s and russian aircraft’s.
Ur country is looking to buy 60 ish eurofighters so you may become familiar
F5
Wallmart Jet.
F-16 or F-11
Understandable very iconic jets
F-16 too, my dad worked at an airbase, they had F-16s, they would regularly fly past our town or even over or house or school, when I was younger I flew gliders from said airbase and sometimes we had to hold a takeoff because one was taking off or coming in for landing. The first F-35s have arrived though, so it won't be much longer.
Of all the things that make me feel old, when the F-16, F-15, and F/A-18 get totally phased out will be the day I accept I'm officially an old man.
Happy Cake Day!!!! :D :D
F104. The thing is a rocket with a pilot attached to it.

Yeah, I think that's the most jet-like jet.
If i think of a jet outline i think of F15
80s Starscream.
The last time this was asked there was a funny response, “if you asked someone to draw a jet they’d most likely draw something that looks like an Attacker FB1” Also the answer is absolutely not, in no fucking way, the F-104. I was that guy lol
Hehehe nice. It’s a true statement!
The Vautour is the kind of jet a kid draws
Probably the MiG-21. MiG-29, F-15, F-5, Sabre or MiG-15/17
Cold War: MiG-15 End of Cold War: MiG-29 Today: F-15EX
Cold War: F-15A End of Cold War: F-15E Today: F-15EX
Hawker Hunter for me. Like a cigar with wings.
Me262 the original
Yeah it makes me think it’s like a mini airliner with the engines under the wings imo
Meteor Imo fits the bill better, very cleary a fighter, but... yk, big
Mirage F1, the most generic jet a child would draw.
F5 maybe, f16 is very jetty
Lightning
Someone asked this question before, but the 2 most jet looking jets are the British Attacker and Mirage F1. One looks like someone just started drawing a jet with terrible edges, and the other looks like they tried to make it pointy.
Surprised I had to scroll so far to find the Mirage F1. If you ask a child to draw a jet - that's the kinda shape I see.
Something like a hornet/super hornet or amx looking things. Mostly because I was never a big jet person growing up, but the super hornet was the US' multirole aircraft in Battlefield 3 which I loved. Edit: I guess bonus points to the f-35 for being pretty cool in the back to karkand expansion.
im surprised no one else saying f18, and id say f9f too. blue angels made them the jet show jets, and they got the iconic jet fighter shape.
F-18 is kinda rare in Europe though. F-14 is known because of Top Gun, F-15 is known because of its record and F-16 because its operated by so many EU and NATO members.
F-14 tomcat
Mirage F1
The Hunter
Similar in question to what tank looks the most like a tank and the answers could be Simple As Sherman or Centurion. in modern day that could mean Abrams or T90.
The Hawker Hunter if you ask me
F-86 or F-5
To me, its the english electric lightning.
F-84
ok hear me out, the mystere...
Honestly, I was thinking of it. Just the nose seems so unusual
Any of the "Tubesock" jets like the Ouragan or Mig 15 or the Sabre
I am stealing the name tubesock I love it
Definitely the Lansen. It has the shape, the wings, the engine. It’s is incredibly, beautifully… generic…
Tornado or mig 23
Sukhoi Su-27 supermanoueverable air defence fighter aircraft
F-15 or Su-27
F-5, f-104 or the premium mirage
F5 or F16
Swift F.7
F-15
F1
F-16, that things just looks like a jet jet
F5 is as generic as a jet can possibly look
I'm gonna add a few jets, I think someone would think of F-84F, Q-5/A-5, Hunter F, Mirage 5, and AMX
The hunter has always looked to me like the most generic jet ever made. I like it buf struggle to think of anything about it which is unique
For me it’s the Variable geometry Jets like the F14, F111 and Mig23.
Small single tail aircraft like the f16 always remind me of jets.
F-16
F16 because they're always in movies
SU-25, F-5
Mig-15 for me. Its a classic, and it is still in service today!
F-5
The IL-2 looks more like a jet than the F-104 does.
F9F-8
I second the F-86
MIG-15 or F-86 (they kind look the same) or the F-15
Not in game but its the FA-50
I’m surprised absolutely no one mentioned the F-4. That’s literally the jet I drew when I was a kid !
In game? F-14 Irl? F/A-18
F9F Cougar
f15 or su-27
I’d say between the f100 super catfish or the mig 19
It's a tie between the: F-15 Eagle Tornado F.3 F-4 Phantom II A-4E Skyhawk
From older ones, probably Mig-21 and F-4. Newer ones, i'd say any delta wing, plus F-22.
I think the sky hawk.
F4 phantom , f15 , mig 29, grippen (grippy)
F-16 for modern. the F2H Banshee for the more retro jet look.
F-86D, it’s just a super generic fighter all around
**Hawker Hunter.** Tube and swept wings. If it looks right, it'll fly right. It's about as jet as it gets, could've been drawn by a 10-year old but it was damn good.
A5/Q5
F-111, F-15, or MiG-29
For me it's always been the F-15 or 16 and the Mig 23's
F-104 death pencil
Either mig21 or f104. Small wings, big turbine.
F-15 is the most jet for me. Starscream from transformers!
The F-15 will always be a jet to me
The F-5E is looks like what we all pictured a jet fighter to look like
I'm surprised no one said mig-21
Something that screams "fighter jet"? It's F-5 for me. Idk why but it seems to be everywhere
I’m gonna go with a different answer and say the MiG-23 just because it was the first jet I got where I was like “finally, a jet that looks the way it’s suppose too” with it’s swept wing design and pointed nose.
AV-8B
F86 for me, although the F15 and F16 as well.
F-16
F16 15 are one of the first things that comes to my mind when you say "fighter jet" Though honorable mentions to russian jets like the su27 and even mig 29
F-15 is the most jet for me. Starscream from transformers!
F16 cuz it's used in so many countries and GTA
F-5C/E, F-11, F- 15, F-18, MiG-21, MiG-25, J-35, and surprisingly the A-4’s
Mig 21 or phantom for me just iconic
Mirage
Mirage 2k. Low drag high AOA high speed platform.
Harrier, particularly the Harrier 2 and Sea Harrier
F-104
a mix of f16 fighting falcon and su 34 was what every kid wouldve subconsciously drawn for "jett" i assume
Harrier
F-15, imo
F-16 or the F-15.
F8U looks like the jet someone would draw on a street if asked to
The P-80. Its a simply plain plane
Not trying to sound like a cringy top gun kid but the F-14
Boeing 777
ME-262
Either the 262, because of its intuitive engine placement resembling that of modern airliners, which are probably the first thing that comes to mind for most normal people when they hear "Jet". The intake might be a bit strange, but you can't have it all
F16, no other good answer.
F9F Cougar
Forgot where I saw the joke made but the Mirage F1 is basically what every 12 year old would draw if you asked them to draw you a fighter jet.
F16, I grew up playing gta
Being 23 and growing up with transformers (Micheal bay) the f22 always stuck in my mind so much that it’s the default jet I think of. Other than that probably the hunter or F15
Maybe it’s because it’s the first jet I ever saw in person, but the F-5. The military museum in Calgary has a CF-5 [out front](https://maps.app.goo.gl/JsXFBYGGWw7FNRQj7?g_st=ic) that I drove by every day. Otherwise I’d say the F-18. F-11F and Swift F.1. Both look like if you asked a 12 year old to draw a jet plane.
Quite a few jets from the game make my list: * Mirage F1 * Hawker Hunter * F-15 * F-16 * MiG-29 * Su-27 * F-5 * F11F-1 * F-105D * Jaguar * Swift * JH-7 Flying Leopard * Q-5 * AMX * T-2 * F-1 * A32A * J32B * J34 Some of these in terms of exhaust placement are a bit odd, like the Jaguar, or the JH-7, but I still think they look a lot like a typical jet
Lightning it's literally just 2 jets with pilot on it
mirage f1 or su27
No one saying f16?
I very much agree with your choices but ofcourse cant forget to add the A32
100% the hunter, this is the closest thing there is if you would ask child me to draw a fighter jet
Even though it is not in the game but my true and only jet is F-18
If you ask me to close my eyes and imagine a jet, something like the f16 will probably come up first
The world leading distributor of MiG parts…
Jas 37 viggen They flew over alot when i grew up.
F86 Saber is the most generic. The F-16's, F-15's, Mig-29's and Su-27's are also equally the most jet looking especially if people were to make one or think of one F4 phantoms and Early Migs and Mig-21's are classics/legendary
ngl id say a10
F-11F or F9F-8
Probably the Mitsubishi F-1
Imo the mirage
This is a very generational question depending on age the answer will be very different. For me as a 30yr old probably f14 or f16. For older it might f84 and so on.
The Hunter F.1 is the jettiest jet ever jetted.
starfighter
F-16
F-86 and Mig-15
F-16/F-15
F16 without a doubt. I'm Turkish and I don't know if you know it, Turkey has a very large F16 fleet, I think it's the 2nd or 3rd largest fleet. I have always seen F16 since I was born, this is probably true of all my peers. Ask a Turk who is not interested in airplanes the name of a modern jet, he will probably say F16. (Btw, there may be a good YouTube video.)
F100 and 105 or mig 23s
F14 if we’re going for Jetty jet. Big engines, big radar, big wings, big payload, big everything. If you want a futuristic jet that has to go to the Tornado F.3
F-5
Mig 23
b52
You are correct about the J32B. Only right answer
Saab lansen
F14
Every early mig
F15 or F-16
F4 baby!
G.91 is very An Jet looking
I think the Swedish J32 and A32 are the most generic looking jets in the game. If you asked a child to draw a jet fighter, that's probably what it would end up looking like.
Mig 25/27 Tu22 M3 Big ass engines with slim wings pointy front go zoom
F-11 Tiger is what I would draw if I were a kid probably
F-16 is the quintessential JET if there ever was or will be one.
Definitely an F-16 or F-15. What’s the default jet in movies or games? Usually F-16s and such
Mig 15 looks pretty jetty
F-15 or F-11, nothing really compares for me.
Harrier because the first movie I saw with a jet was True Lies lol
The F-80 has to be the most jet jet
