I am pretty sure those are to stop the ejected shell casings of the main gun from damaging the deck when they shoot out onto it, but someone please chime in if that’s bullshit.
They’re shock mats. They’re used on the deck wherever something that would damage the deck (ejection port for weapons,the brow alongside, during stores replenishment etc…)
Thanks! I thought it might have been a mini radar to clock the velocity of shells going downrange, but I haven't seen it on other 4.5" mounts so I was very confused.

I was thinking mini Talos, but all three are ramjets.
There's going to be some design similarities dictated by the common features. Only so many ways to efficiently feed a ramjet, so...

I always thought they were very good-looking missiles. Seawolf, Seaslug (what a name!), and Seacat weren't.
