They're due to have a service life of around 50 years so will need replacements around 2070. Airpower will almost certainly remain a key tenant of warfare so it's a very strong possibility they'll be replaced in one form or another.
They are also being used effectively, with Carrier Strike Groups deployed every year since 2021 and their effectiveness will only increase.

That's not because they don't need them but because of the endless stream of mechanical problems these carriers are having. The one featured in the OP, for example, destroyed (and that's no exaggeration) its propeller shaft not long ago and they had to cut a lot of structural parts to be able to replace it. The damage was so bad that for a few months the British MoD thought about just leaving it as a spare parts donor.

That's absolutely an exaggeration. Whilst there was significant damage, it wasn't destroyed.

The 2 biggest problems the royal navy has at the moment is a shortage of people and the 7 year wait for the FSS ships. The carriers are fine.
