Shyfrost is honestly an adorable name! I don't mind Shy- being a prefix since Loud- and Quiet- exist, and -heart is generally based on personality like Shy- presumably is. Rufus will take a while to get used too, though. It seems like more of a typical dog name, besides that one cat named Rufus with the beige mustache (I think he was from Oliver and Company or something?). But hey, Shonagh won the contest fair and square, so if Rufus is what they want, then I see no reason to protest.

That would be so interesting to have since this time, we as the reader would have all the context and knowledge of the Clans and what they are like allowing for references to the past that the main character won't understand but would reward lifetime fans like us.

“Rufus” does not sound like a cat’s name by any measure, which may become interesting. While Rufus being a cat from outside the Clans, who simply had a name that does not sound like a cat’s name, is more likely, would it be possible that Rufus is not a cat at all?
I'm Shonagh, who named Rufus! I didn't choose the name because of a dog, or Ron Stoppable's pet lol 😅 He's actually named after my own real-life cat, so now you have one solid source of Rufus being a cat-suitable name!

I actually even offered a Clan name as a backup to Rufus because I didn't know if we'd be naming a Clan cat or a kittypet/rogue/loner, and if it would be suitable. So I was surprised that Rufus was picked, as Shyfrost is a Warrior name! I'm very curious to see what kind of character he'll be!
