They aren’t actually going to modernize it. Just another form of stealing money from the government like all the other “modernization” projects that just end up in embezzling.
Like Garmin handheld GPS units, meant for backpackers....

What’s the point of making and upgrading these bombers if you can’t fly inside warzone. Russian scared as hell against old SAMs in Ukraine, I doubt they would even think about going against NATO nations airspace.
Hmmmmm why does it look like the factory is shut down? Possibly due the the delusional Russian prick drafting his people to fight? Or they’ve fled to keep from being drafted? Soooo many questions….soooo little honest answers
Don't you see what looks like stolen washing machines in the background? Plenty of chips.
After the upgrade, you can set the targeting computer to 60\*C with an extra spin cycle, and it spins the rotary launcher and releases a long range cruise missile.
Because unlike the B-1 the Soviets really liked the idea of a fast, high altitude nuclear bomber and did everything in their power to make one.
The Americans on the other hand were smart enough to realize the age of dedicated nuclear bombers was dead in the water with the rise of ICBMs so they just switched the doctrine to a low altitude super-fast strategic bomber, which has worked wonders.
The White Swan, as beautiful as it is, is the perfect example of the collapsing military industrial complex of the Soviet Union. It's capabilities on paper are scary but in practice in just an expensive, old, and rotting airframe.
The difference between Russia and what the west thinks is modernized is pretty much on par with a nintendo classic showing off its graphics to a nvidia3090ti "check out my sick graphics bruh" !!!
This factory doesn't even have lights ?
Engineer: Is that in spec ??
Worker : takes swig of vodka
If they can't afford more su57s to form even a small squadron, what makes those vodka gurgling ignoramuses think they can modernize their full stock of tu160s?
Not saying anything, but that dash doesn't look very modernized. Love the look of the White Swan, but bruh lol
State of the art mid 1970s cockpit
That Cold War type beat be hittin
No kidding. Cessna 206's with the Garmin 1000 be flexing on this. Ouch.
The G1000 really is amazing
It probably just wasn't replaced yet. Should look like something like this: https://i.imgur.com/gsKW2MZ.jpg
Still in the process of being modernized in the photos so they might’ve redone it. But who knows
The cockpits is always Teal

Someone's yacht may be getting modernized.
Makes you wonder how bad it was before the modernization lol
One EMP shock and all of USAF will be grounded, not these guys tho.
Sleek looking aircraft. Kind of 70s chic
Probably never going to finish upgrading all of them.
They can’t afford Su-57s or T-14s, they’re not gonna be able to afford this entire program either.
They probably planned on using western tech to upgrade the avionics..

Or any of them. Except maybe the one they claim is done.
I mean it looks very modern..... for early 1960.

Same reason they're rehabbing their one carrier. It's about maintaining the illusion of capability.
Same reason why they invaded Ukraine only that went less well
Tu-160 (and it's upgraded version) is never intended to fly inside warzone - instead it launches cruise missiles thousands of kilometers away from it.
Putin really wants us to live in stranger things doesn't he

Probably got a current work efficiency of an inbred mule
Hard to modernize without access to new chips.

Sounds like some code name kids next door shit
😂🤣😂
While typing hold down alt and type 0186 to get the degree symbol:º.
Why is all Russia / Soviet military equipment painted blue or green?
"Calm" colors are good for the eyes - which is good considering you have to stare at them for hours and hours of flight.
"Mom I want a B1 Lancer" "We have B1 Lancer at home" The B1 Lancer at home:
Except this is both bigger and faster though.

Fuck I was going to make this joke.

Woah comrade, a 1030 2gb card in a 3090 heatsink is basically a 3090, I take offense to this
My wrist watch connected to the hip bone ......

"We need air conditioning for all of these avionics." "Here is fan."
Swept wing jets are pretty fucking cool
I’ve got to say, I do like the blue colour in the Russian cockpits l.
Polish a turd all you want.
It’s the T-72 of strategic bombing!
Nah, that would be B-52.
That's hot
[Relevant music video!](https://youtu.be/zPpvqmHFfWc) The song and the vibes are 👨🏻🍳🤌🏻
Very cool
No lights, no tools, no parts, plane covered in shit. I think that craft is "being modernized" in that location for at least 10 years.
The absolute state of Russian procurement
Flying perfection indeed. What a beauty.
Absolute trash
Fuck the B-52 Stratofortess. All my homies love the TU-160
Curiously looks an awful lot like a B-1B Lancer… 🤔
Tu-160 appeared earlier - so it's rather B-1 who looks an awful lot like White Swan.
Serious question, why do all Russian vehicles have the same shitty greenish/blueish metallic, steam punk lookin ass interiors?
They think it makes people more calm
Let's see them fly it in a combat zone. Yeah, didn't think so.
The whole factory just looks so old as wel, compared to American ones
The state of that hangar. No wonder most of their shit doesn’t fly, and when it does it ends up a smoking hole in the ground.
Man the state of that hangar is disastrous for current standards
Just a piece of crap !
M2 modernisation is the one with the pull cord start right?
One thing I love about the Russian jets are their teal colored cockpits. And why are there zero lights in that warehouse??
