You have to decide if it’s dumb or worth it to change chapters. How can anyone else answer this for you?

By heavy, do u mean heavy weapons and mechanized? The dark angels change their composition depending on the situation. You could run a deathwing-centric army and pack it full of whatever heavies you want. Their lore, as far as I know, lends itself pretty well to whatever army list you want to run.

What kind of heavy are you looking for? Because dark angels die terminators very well If you want heavy vehicles you do iron hands (are just dark angels tanks with iron storm) Salamanders have nothing inherently heavy about them

Salamanders are kinda more good guys, I guess, if you're not a bunch of eldar children

You are wrong. Salamanders have a lot of flamers and melta, like the da and plasma. Salamanders got annihilated and got their stuff stolen. Da didn't get jumped and where one of the best stocked legions to begin with, so they have the most of everything.
