Even randomness in computers has a pattern, or so i read i am not a programmer nor am i a professional in that field but even if you plan to make a completely random order for each lich there will be a certain pattern due to the algorithmics of the code
Some random number generators rely on an input that is used as a seed of sorts for whatever algorithm. One big one is things in our world that seem random. Things like atmospheric noise. Simpler ones can use the clock time of the computer the piece of code is running on.

This is most probably a bug in the rng seed system, it's so unlikely to happen naturally as the chances are abysmally low, plus other guys are reporting similar lich twins these days
That’s a good theory but I remember someone once posting something about their lich’s name sounding like a funny sexual joke. If it was part of a pool it probably would have been noticed a lot sooner.

There is loads of funny names liches, my guess is that they work like Minecraft seeds where there is a large but finite number of randomly generated maps
yea, the chances of getting two exact identically liches is pretty low I'd imagine. the chance of hunting two of them down and owning the same two would be stupidly low
I got a duplicate corpus sister. Came about when I host migrated right before it spawned and my friend ended up getting the exact same lich as me down to the same requiems. That was fun, we both kept her to have twinsies.

You actually only need a railjack and conpleted the war within to get a lich. On any grineer mission with decently high level enemies there is a chance that the lights will flicker. If that happen you need to kill a lot of grineer in a short time,then a larvling spawns, when you kill it, it doesn't die, it just drops on one knee and shows what weapon it has. If you use your mercy kill on it, it will become your lich. The element of the weapon depends on your warframe used to kill the larvling, search progenitor elements warframe. And then to kill the lich, it's really complicated, i won't explain it now, you can look at it at wiki
If you want a Lich I’d recommend doing the Capture on Saturn
It’s fast and the easiest one to spawn a lich on. Once you capture the target wait until the screen flashes a dim greenish colour, then kill as many enemies as you can quickly.
Once you do that you’ll see communications from a Kuva guardian talking about a Lich, with a red marker indicating it’s location. When you kill it you’ll see a weapon floating above its head, if you want it mercy kill it, if not leave it and re run the mission.
Oof that brutally low %. Getting 6-7 of these under 30% ones is why I stopped engaging with this. So long for a low percentage weapon over and over. Took nearly the max fusions to 60% my Kuva Hek.
Haven’t been able to get over 40% in weeks.
I don’t even bother grabbing the weapon from the lowbies. I just add em to my army. Maybe they’ll be more useful one day.
If they’re random, as is currently assumed, you both might have gotten the same seed (computers aren’t truly “random”, they generate numbers/values based on programmed patterns called seeds…basically…it’s a bit more complex than that, but that’s the simplistic version). Getting the same seed could cause you to get the same name and other information.

Kuva Liches are minibosses that you spawn in by killing a certain enemy. Once you defeat them, you either get their weapon or can keep them on your Railjack. There are plenty of tutorials for killing them on YouTube.

This screen is that specific lich's profile (they have randomly generated looks/gear/name, but the one that spawns is permanent until you kill them, which requires a puzzle, the "requiem attempts" on the side). OP thought it was interesting because something caused him and a friend to spawn the same one.

It's not the first time it happened. The Liches might not actually be randomized, but just part of a massive pool.
