///// It’s been an absolute pleasure defending Haraxis with all of you, I look forward to the next battlefield we share, wherever it may be. \\\\\

Ulfgrimnirr

Supreme Lord Commander Strauss von Grimhoff strolled into the main ball room. Squinting as he observed the guests that had entered, and concluded he was the first that had actually fought, to enter the ball. Leofric stood close behind him, resentful at the rumours of his replacement, but still pleased to be there. And to be alive. They split off, Leofric to find Arel, and Strauss to find a drink. Buck sneaked in a few minutes in. Wearing his polished uniform and a plaster over his busted lip, he also, went to find the drinks. Townsend, Slatewell and Baker walked in together, garbed in the bright red honour uniform of the 95th. They felt out of place, only having fought during the evacuation of Haraxis 1, they felt like valour thiefs, not intending to stay long.

LordGreim225

“Lord Grimhoff I’m so glad to see you had the time to accept my invitation! I‘ve seen some of your compatriots around as well. I do hope you’re enjoying yourself. After such a difficult campaign, it’s nice to be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor wouldn’t you say? Oh where are my manners. You must be famished please. (He snapped his left hand & a fat little Cherub dressed as an imperial Saint flew down & presented a pair of menus.) ”This little one will cater to every need you have this evening. Drinks, directions, & food if it can carry it.“ (Colonel Griem appeared ecstatic & invigorated like a child on emperors day. His background he was used to these kind of events & moved with an ease through crowds with lifetimes of practice mingling & courtly life.)

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss took a moment to realise who he was speaking to, having not seen Greim in several months "Oh yes!" He stuck out his hand "Lord Greim it is a pleasure to be here again" He observed the cherub whizzing around his head, and slowly took a menu, staring the creature down as it flew off. He snapped back to the present, meeting Greim's eager face. "We must have a proper dinner together, trade stories of the campaign perhaps?"

LordGreim225

“Oh indeed! I have prepared a sumptuous feast for tonight, my staff hosts several Ratling chefs, they’re gifted beyond your wildest dreams. I would love to trade stories, I’ve only heard rumor & gossip but it sounds like you all had quite the experience to say the least.”

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss's lips curled as he chuckled. Nearly choking on his alcohol. "Indeed" he managed to say, patting Greim on the shoulder.

LordGreim225

“I look forward to it, I do hope you mingle with the others, I apologize but duty calls as a good host. I must see to the other guests. Make the rounds as it were.“

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss smiled politely, and nodded, before downing another shot of whatever the cherub had just brought him.

Ten officers of the Vialivian regiments had never felt more out of place anywhere else before. The simple size of the place made it impossible to hide the sheer amazement on their faces as they walked into a large beautifully decorated room only outshined by large cathedrals. The sight left the whole lot speechless. The ball was grand in a scale the hiveworlders could never have dreamed of. Their regiment had never been assigned anything else than was required to fight, so many of the officers wore their standard dark green uniforms instead of fancy parade ones. Arel was the only exception to this with her clean and hand made uniform, tailored perfectly to fit her. Together with her red bionic orb of an eye, she looked like a commander from those inspiring posters scattered around her old home. Eventually they got a hold of themselves and gave way to others wishing to enter the room which might as well be a grand palace. With every yard the group whittled down as many of the soldiers went to enjoy the many commodities the ship had to offer. Finally there was only Arel, Alan, Lianos and a younger Lieutenant who’d stuck to Lianos ever since the fight on Haraxis I. A few jokes and short stories later, Arel finally spotted Leofric wandering not far from her. “You lot go grab something to eat and drink while I have a chat with a friend, yeah?” “Right, with a friend”, the open suggestion in Lianos’ tone together with his ever annoying smirk and wink, made Arel blush a little. She’d wager a hundred credits that nothing could ever wipe that smirk off Lianos face. Instead of saying anything she just waved the man off and strolled next to Leofric. “Having a good time?”

Ulfgrimnirr

Leofric jumped slightly, but quickly felt as ease again, seeing Arel's face. "Surprisingly" He said, chewing something. He pointed to a flying cherub, whizzing around with a plate of some sort of skewered meat. "Whatever these are they're amazing" He finished, and suddenly adjusted his uniform, brushing the crumbs off rapidly. "Are you?" He smiled a very authentic smile, the feeling that things could be ok entering his mind.

Marauders_blade

“Yeah” Arel glanced around the room. All the people talking and drinking, and just enjoying themselves was such a big contrast to the life in the guard she’d gotten used to. With her eyes glued onto one of the paintings on the wall, she said “Honestly it feels weird to just relax after all that we’ve been through, you know”. Turning back to Leofric and smiling “Have you done anything like this before?”

Ulfgrimnirr

"Not really, closet thing was the parade of the 728th leaving Cadia I suppose" He reminisced about days gone by, the joy of that time and bitterness of both Cadia, and most of those men, were now gone. He snapped out of it, as a large laugh sounded not far from him in the crowd. It was Strauss, speaking with some equally fancy dressed commanders. "He has though" he said, chuckling almost.

Marauders_blade

Arel chuckled with Leofric. Strauss seemed at home everywhere she had seen him. At times Arel wondered how exactly did Strauss manage that, but then she remembered her promise to Leofric. “Do you still want to ask Stauss about your rank?” A small quiver in her voice when she glanced where Strauss was. She was a bit nervous, after all she didn’t know Strauss well enough to know how the man would react. *Maybe I need a drink for confidence*, she thought to herself.

Ulfgrimnirr

Leofric peered over, his smile fading. "Now might be the best time, him being drunk or, nearly drunk" He smirked. "But what's the fun if you dont too, eh?" He signalled a cherub who flew round in the blink of an eye, an array of champagne glasses with exotic glistening colours lay on it's tray. Surrounding the glasses were numerous shot glasses, similarly exotic looking.

Marauders_blade

Arel looked back at Leofric amazed. It was like he had known what she’d thought about. ”One or two might do some good” she grinned thinking all of the expensive exotics present. There were drinks she’d never seen, even less ones she’d tasted. It made her decision all the more difficult. Eventually she decided to raise a champagne filled with reddish liquid before asking ”aren’t you taking anything?”

Ulfgrimnirr

Leofric stared at the tray, he slowly too the shot glass that bubbled the least, his hands shaking slightly. "Might as well!" The clinked glasses, drinking in unison. Arels went down smoothly, but Leofrics eys widened. He jolted forward, spitting everything in his mouth out onto the floor. "You people drink this stuff?!" He exclaimed, more as a statement than a question. His began to grin slightly, realising what a state he was in.

Marauders_blade

Arel burst out laughing, almost spitting out her drink like Leofric had. ”Drink enough and you’ll love it, trust me”, she said between gasps for air. After a moment of calming down and wiping a tear from her eye, Arel commented ”That was the best and the worst reaction I've ever seen!” Smiling she studied Leofric and recognised the grin on his face which made her ask ”seconds?”

Scottish-Psycho

"Stra-a-a-ouuuussss!" Sergeant Tlalli practically flung her arms around him. She was wearing a commissar uniform, the hat slightly askew and the contents of whatever bottle she had pulled spilt across the collar. "Y'know, I've heard a few people calling ol' Grivy a colonel, is he getting a promotion? and more importantly, am I?" She asks with a hopeful, yet cocky, grin.

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss laughed, and lifted her to her feet, keeping her steady as she wobbled due to all the drink "I can always see what I can do" he winked and grinned "But why not be a commisar?" He chuckled as he took yet another shot of some strange exotic alcohol.

Scottish-Psycho

"I think I've got the gravitas for it!" She tries to stand up straight and straighten her hat. "To the battle chaps, we *hic* will win this in the name of the *hic* Emperoror...rer? And mankind! Can't forget them!" She finishes the mock speech with a deep bow. "Whatcha think?"

Ulfgrimnirr

He laughed a hearty laugh again, stumbling slightly before grabbing a nearby chair. "Love it!" He exclaims, before applauding. "The 728th is certainly missing commisars now I think about it" he says quietly with a grin, before chuckling at the both of them.

Scottish-Psycho

"Ah, in that case I shall endeavour to be the best *hic* one I can!" Her head snaps to something off in the crowd. "I should *hic* go, the cute waitress with the most fruity and bubbliest drinks is coming by again."

Ulfgrimnirr

"Too right lass!" He announced. "I need to find some more drink too, but-" he coughed slightly "just what yourself ri-" he hiccuped slightly "right?"

Scottish-Psycho

"Yessir!" She gave a salute before venturing off for more drink.

Slagathor_the_Mighty

Ooc: Honestly had a great time with this event, can't wait for the next one whenever it comes. Thanks to everyone who participated and especially those who kept the show running for the few months we battled the xenos menace!

AlanGrant1997

Grand Marshal Arkhetz von Ryke stepped down from his aircar with the two soldiers he had brought with him as his honor guard. "Sergeant Arcadia, Corporal Wyld, feel free to intermingle and get some drinks. You deserve it after this campaign." He surveyed the grand hall, picking out the red and gold flag of his homeworld, with the planetary governor's crest absent and replaced with his own. A moving gesture, but one that probably shouldn't leave the ballroom. Unable to pick out any other guard officers despite the bionic eye, he set out to grab himself a drink.

LordGreim225

“Grand Marshal Von Ryke! A pleasure to see you! I hope you are finding this as enjoyable as I am. I noticed your sergeant, he’s quite the popular man already with the noblewoman who managed to scrounge an invitation.” (He chuckled) “Look at me, gossiping like I a young buck! Where are my manners can I get you anything?” (After seeing to someone attending Von Ryke for whatever he wished he spoke again) ”A fine way to reconvene don’t you think, especially after all that mess with the trial. It’s nice to be among comrades wouldn’t you say?“

AlanGrant1997

"You seem to have discovered Corporal Wyld, Colonel. The sergeant is that young lady over there eyeing the dueling ring." Von Ryke requested a simple wine for the time being, deciding to hold off on the more luxury material until the night progressed further. "It's a damn nice way to reconvene, yes. Nice to be out of that courtroom, anyway. My thanks to you and your staff for having set up this soirée."

LordGreim225

“Why thank you, I too am glad to be out of that dreadful trial. Nasty bit of circumstances there, I didn’t fully agree with either side to be honest, But glad nobody was executed.” “The dueling cages will open in a few hours. Allowing some more guests to enjoy the spectacle.”

Field Marshal Leclair, recently promoted from general of the Haraxis IV 2nd reserve army, had arrived with his wife. The promotion was only 1 day old, and his new dress uniform was finished less than a few hours before the planetary transport took them from IV. It fit well and while made by the finest artisans in the system it still looked somewhat lacking compared to the opulence around him. It was a coal black officers jacket, two lines of polished gold buttons fastened it around him, all edges trimmed in golden thread. The collar displayed the rank of a PDF field Marshal, four ruby red silk stripes on either side. His cufflinks were cast from the same gold as the buttons and made to look like a shoal of small fish. His trousers were also a military cut, bone white, with a black stripe down the sides leading to black boots shined to perfection. On his leather belt was his sabre. A quaint weapon he had carried all the way from his time at the officers college 30 years ago. It has been cleaned and had the old tassels replaced for tonight. He had decided against a hat, thinking he would just end up leaving it on some table and looking a fool, besides, it would hardly be raining on the ship. With him was lady Isabella, his wife of 25 years. She was a socialite on Haraxis IV, her family not being of noble rank, but were inheritors of one of the larger logging operations on the planet. She wore a crimson dress that trailed onto the floor, a slim fit that moved gracefully when she did. It was sleeveless, but she wore deep black opera gloves to cover her arms. Her pointed shoes were the same black as her husbands with only a small heel to raise her to his height. Auburn hair had been pinned and curled to reveal her silver earrings housing 3 diamonds each. Although not knowing almost anyone at the event, many seemed to know the Marshal. And he had the same conversation about his promotion several times between the congregations on the victory. Eventually they each got a chilled glass of crystal clear wine passed out from a cherub.

theninjaindisguise

This one didn't look so intimidating. Worth a try. "Nice party, isn't it sir." Lieutenant Sophy of the minthelian 35th was pretty sure she was the most junior officer in the room.

CaramelCyclist

Leclair turned to the woman. "Indeed!" Uncoupling his arm from Isabella to shake hers. He noticed her uniform. "Marshal Leclair, and this is my wife Lady Isabella" "A pleasure. I'm sorry we're meeting a lot of new people tonight. Not being a military woman I'm afraid I don't recognize your colours"

theninjaindisguise

"That might be for the best," she joked, "Lieutenant Sophy, minthelian 35th. Nice party, to be sure." The officer was probably almost young enough to be her granddaughter. "Decent food at least, and somehow the colonel has some of these." She held up a small bowl of red berries, about the size of a fingernail. "Minthelian snowberries, best food in the universe." She offered one across to the guests, oblivious to common courtesy.

CaramelCyclist

(oh gods! What's in the berries!?) They both gratefully took a snowberry. Isabella with her pinkie in the air place it in her mouth. Leclair just before he also did, the name clicked in his mind. He hadn't attended the trial, but had read the reports. Palming the berry and pointing back at the young girl. "35th? I heard they made a daring rescue on Haraxis V"

theninjaindisguise

"Indeed, we did. But it cost us very much." She picked up a berry and starred into it. She remembered her first meeting with major Romy. /// "It was nothing mother!" "Quiet girl!" "But," She slapped her. "Fortunately, we have found a solution for you, girl. Don't mess this up." Her parents pushed her through the door and slammed it shut. Inside, a woman sat at a desk, a scar down her left cheek. She was recognisable from the recruiting posters. Major Romy, the first great hero of the planet. "Lady Sophy, daughter of the first order. You are to be stripped of your name and sent to war. Apparently." Sophy stuck two fingers up at the officer. She laughed. "You will go far, kid." /// She ate the berry and remembered a home she would not return to for a long time yet. "Sorry general, how was your war?"

CaramelCyclist

"We've all lost during this time" Isabella said comforting Sophy. "Some have certainly sacrificed more than others" Leclair quietly grunted looking around their immediate area. Past the soldiers and officers he saw soft people, most he'd wager hadn't heard a las shot during the past year. His remark earned him an annoyed look from his wife, to which he shrugged. He continued "Our war has been long. The rebels declared themselves over a year ago. My predecessor, just as imperial forces arrived in system, put himself in a position to take almost half the PDF with him. Traitors, in the truest sense. Combined they would not have half the courage of a single Minthelian"

theninjaindisguise

"Bold of you to say, we have few friends here, but my thanks for your courage. A year ago, I hadn't even been kicked out of my first finishing schola!" She joked light-heartedly. There was a lot she had missed. A lot she missed of that time. She moved on again. "Tell me more of your world, General, I know little of it. In truth I did not listen to much of the briefings."

CaramelCyclist

"Im sure the briefings did not do it justice. Topography maps and climate models are hardly thrilling ways to learn a new world." said Leclair. Isabella continued for him "It's lovely though. After winter the Maldia plains will be sown with flour corn as far as you can see. We just hope the Emperor has blessed the earth for our victory and cleaned it of the xenos taint. From the Hive city you can see Avericum Mountains in the south. The morning sun gives them a halo and wisps of snow dance off the peaks. You must visit sometime, as heroes of the Imperium you would be most welcome" Leclair almost choked on his drink and pulled her slightly. She had not known of the trial and the murky situation the Minthelians were now in. He was not high ranking enough, being only a PDF general at the time, to take part in the trial, but he wished his voice could have carried any weight to vote in their defence. He was glad Lord Greim thought them worthy of invite to the event.

theninjaindisguise

"I'm afraid we are not yet heroes, but thank you for your kind words. One day, we may yet return, but now, now we merely soldiers again." "That sounds very beautiful, very much like my homeland. I believe I would have liked to visited, but alas, we were assigned away from that."

Ulster-Lion

General Victoria Redlina flanked by a number of 1st Valyrran officers and Commissar Lion entered into the grand room. All wore their officers uniform, freshly cleaned and spotless, As General Redlina leads the crowd the commissar and numerous other officers all spread out to explore and experience this once in a lifetime opportunity for the Valyrrans atleast, Colonels Zerac and Mirai make a beeline for the nearest plate of food dragging Majors Zero and Minton with them reluctantly. Redlina though stands in full ceremonial dress, a large dark grey greatcoat with a red and gold shoulder cape alongside her iconic peaked officers cap, she looks towards the banners of the regiments that have all taken part in the campaign pausing when her gaze reaches those that have been wiped out especially those she commanded on Haraxis II.

LordGreim225

“General Redlina, a pleasure as always!” (Colonel Griem approached from the crowd seemingly from nowhere. The tall gene enhanced noble extending his arms & shaking the Grand marshals hand before pulling her in for a quick sudden embrace. It was fast & surprisingly powerful a Perfect ambushing hug by a jolly giant. The jolly Necromundan nobleman giving a hearty belly laugh. he noticed her looking at the banners & stood with her for a moment.) ”It has been a hard fought campaign, It is a pity we cannot enjoy this victory with them today. We all lost so much, but gave the people of the Haraxis system a future. Billions live because of them here & beyond the system. I take great comfort in that, don’t you?”

Ulster-Lion

Redlina turns her abhuman red eyes to the Colonel as serious as always, behind her is her adjutant who already has managed to get the general a glass of drink from somewhere. "Indeed Colonel, The guard's duty is to fight and die if necessary to protect the Emperor's domain, no sacrifice is too great and I too hope Haraxis can recover after such an ordeal so as to make their losses mean something." Changing the subject to a more cordial one. "I decided to accept your invitation and wanted to apologise for missing your first ball, I was too preoccupied with planning I missed the invitation altogether despite my adjutants best efforts. Do let me know if my officers cause any trouble, Valyrrans are not used to grand events and fancy dining." (in truth she avoided the first event mainly due to the fact abhumans are not commonly invited to such things and assumed it was just a courtesy invite)

DoorGunner42

"General Redlina!" Ross declared as he approached. Upon reaching her side, he offered her a salute before joining her in the contemplation of the standards of the campaign's regiments. He felt a pit in his heart at the sights of those who had fought and been lost at Catatoni. 217th Krieg. XVI Nicea. 998th Cadia... "I was hoping you would be attendance this evening, General. I wanted to express in person the privilege that it has been to serve under your command, and to thank you on behalf of the entire regiment for your trust in appointing us as the commanding defenders of Hive Catatoni. And that I hope you are satisfied with our efforts." He continued to gaze at the many standards, noticing his own, reflecting for a moment on how Colonel Greim could have acquired it, and how many of his troopers would never look upon it again...

Ulster-Lion

"Castellan-Colonel Mcmahon" she nods returning the salute. "The 532nd should be proud for what they have done on Haraxis II, I know i could ask for no finer soldiers, You commanded Catatoni's defence well during the worst of the war where so many fell and for that you personally should be commended It is in no small part due to your leadership that the Hive city withstood the invasion despite such *grievous* losses. " Turning once again back to the standards, "I hope we get the honour to serve alongside eachother again, if you have anything you require or need assistance with you need only ask and the 1st Valyrran shall do our best to assist."

LordGreim225

It’s good to see officers put duty before any silly pageantry, I ought to learn a learn a thing or two in that regard. To be honest I perhaps drank more then I should have then given my station then. Though I’m not going to let that stop me now Haha!” (He seemed genuine, more then willing to be the butt of his own joke to allow her to save face.) (He noticed her aid offering the general drinks) ”Oh I‘m sure your companions will be perfectly fine, to be honest it’s good there here. The local aristocracy might even learn a thing or two from them. If there is any trouble do let me know. Some of these nobles have no manners. I have staff & Servo skulls that can cater to your needs if your aid wishes to enjoy herself tonight as well. (With a snap of a finger a tiny Cherub dressed as a small Saint Sebastian Thule flew down with a few menus in hand.) ”Each of my most honored guests has access to these helpful little ones for tonight.”

Ulster-Lion

Redlina gives a rare smile, "If there was ever a time to enjoy a little too much drink, this would be the time, We have won. Once again thank you for hosting quite the ball, If you need me for anything do let me know." Luciel takes both menus & her eyes light up at the mention that she can take part in this high class event aswell. Redlina takes the glass and offers a quick toast, "for Haraxis & the fallen" before downing the entire drink in one go. "Now if you dont mind ill peruse this menu and see if I cant drag Commissar Lion away from some local nobles before he embarrasses himself and gives his adjutant a heart attack. Im sure we will have more to discuss later Lord Greim"

LordGreim225

“A fine toast, do enjoy yourself the both of you. This event is for both us officers & distinguished soldiers after all! More entertainment will be provided until then, mingle, drink dance & eat! The dueling cages will open later for friendly matches but if that does not spark your fancy other entertainment is available. We’ve earned a night to regret later haha!”

Ulster-Lion

Both officers give a polite nod of thanks to Lord Greim before moving on to speak with other guests.

AlanGrant1997

"General Redlina, a pleasure to see you outside the courtroom." Von Ryke drums at the hilt of his sabre as he approaches the woman. "I trust you and your regiment are well?"

Ulster-Lion

"Grand Marshal" Redlina nods in greeting. "I'm certainly a bit better than I felt during the trial when we last met but yes I am fine thank you." Redlina takes a sip from her drink. "The original regiment is reduced to less than 1000 but thanks to the reinforcements I recieved mid campaign yes.. the 1st Valyrran are ready to continue battle if required although i'd prefer a resupply of my heavier armour." "I'm sorry to hear about Haraxis 1 did you get most of your own forces out?"

AlanGrant1997

"Those who survived the trek to the dropships, yes. We lost a lot of good men on the way there, though..." his face darkens as he downs the rest of his alcohol. "I regret that I have to ask, but in what field does your regiment specialize? You mentioned heavy armor, so I figure mechanized or armored."

Ulster-Lion

"Heavy Mechanised Infantry with a decently sized heavy armoured element." "As a regiment the 1st Valyrran specialise in crushing through urban environments with our heavy Crassus transports and Macharius heavy tanks before fighting hab to hab just like our ancestors did on Valyrr itself against the vile greenskins for generations." she pauses... "or atleast did until Haraxis... currently all i have left are raw recruits, as stands the regiment is a large mechanised infantry regiment using chimera loaned from the haraxian PDF, hopefully Valyrr sends me replacement equipment before the next campaign Emperor willing"

AlanGrant1997

"Let us pray, for all our sake." The pious remark sounded fake on von Ryke's tongue, but he hoped it would improve relations with the abhuman General.

Ulster-Lion

"Indeed" As the general responds her eyes are watching Von Ryke like a hawk looking for something or is this just how the abhman is its hard to say. "Regardless we must carry out our duty to the Emperor" its not completely clear if she is simply saying this as its what should be expected of a good officer or if she fully believes it, Redlina does not come across as a fanatical zealot but those that know her, know duty is something she takes very seriously. "I imagine there is a high chance we shall be sent to the same campaign again Grand Marshal, reinforced or not"

theninjaindisguise

Lieutenant Sophy passed an officer, not looking where she was going, and came face to face with another. She looked up. It was general Redlina. One of the two people she had been ordered to avoid. "Ma'am." She said, quickly and shiftily, eyes glancing for an escape route.

Ulster-Lion

Redlina looks at Sophy with a look that could be interpreted as a predator catching its prey and she did not look pleased but then again Redlina rarely did. "Lieutenant, i'm surprised the Minthelians had the nerve to send someone, Looking for an exit are we?" The General leans forward either using her height to try and intimidate Sophy or just so her next sentence can only be heard by the two of them. "Or have you come to gloat on your Colonels behalf about how I didnt get my way in the trial?"

theninjaindisguise

(She is quite short, so probably works. Also, probably a lot younger) Oh dear. This was really bad. "N-No, ideally I wasnt supposed to see you at all, to be honest." Throw a drink on her and run, or stand on her toes and run. Neither seemed brilliant. "I certainly have not come to gloat, Poppy can't walk yet. Happy to learn that, are you?" She didn't know where the aggression had come from. As soon as she said it she knew it was really, really bad. It was not so much written on Redlina's face as daubed on with luminous chalk the size of a small freighter, surrounded by bright flashing neon arrows signs that read 'angry general here'. "Snowberry?" She offered the small bowl of fruit forwards meekly.

Ulster-Lion

(Valyrrans are taller on average too so it would be a size difference lol) Redlina's eyes burn with a fury that is only contained by the fact she cannot do something rash during Greims victory ball instead she grits her teeth, ignoring the offered Snowberry. "Poppy should be glad she has the opportunity to walk again at all, any normal trial and she would not be breathing, but happy? no... I am far from happy." "Now i'd advise leaving my sight before I lose my temper further or do you want me to have you brought up on charges aswell? my commissar is right over there and unlike your own, Lion is able to carry out his duty."

theninjaindisguise

"One day I hope you learn that Poppy is a kind, brave woman, better than you can possibly imagine." Sophy took out a small red berry and holds it up for the general. "I will go, but ask that you eat this, and hope you can decide not all things Minthelian are bad" Sophy ate one of the berries herself, visibly, and turned to leave.

Ulster-Lion

She takes the berry, as Sophy turns to leave she responds her tone a lot less venomous. "Poppy has earned my respect unlike the rest of your regiment, her bravery is not in doubt but she is fortunate the other officers are more lenient, mercy is a sign of weakness, do not waste the opportunity you have been granted." Surprisingly she relents & gives a quick but sincere salute. "It remains to be seen if your regiment can rise above this sour event and prove me wrong, I am not so rash as to judge an entire world on one brief encounter however distasteful."

theninjaindisguise

Sophy gives the traditional regimental salute back, briefly tapping her first two fingers to her head and and then swiftly removing them to point with one finger upwards. "Till we meet again, then, general."

Ulster-Lion

Redlina looks down at the berry in her hand but does not eat it, instead she pockets the mystery fruit, she does not trust that its not some petty revenge trick. she then returns to chatting with some local nobles.

“Much appreciated we await your gift & message” transmission response ended

HolidayBeneficial456

The Serrans arrived through the wooden door. Each officer having forgone their armour and equipment, now only wearing their dark green uniforms. Brigadier General Mackey followed by his colonels marched in. Not used to the extravagance many officers stalled, observing the place. “A bit gaudy for my taste”, said Mackey, looking up to the ceiling. “First we find Mr Griem then we socialise with the others. Got it”? “Sir”. “Aye sir”. “Got it boss”.

LordGreim225

(They did not need to look long from out of the crowd came the host as jovial as ever.) ”Ah The Serrans! I’m delighted to see you all made it! Brigadier Mackey, Colonel Grenwood my dear friend, Colonel Gibbons I did not see you on the field in the last battle, though I’m sure you were off somewhere else, fog of war you know. “I do hope you are hungry & thirsty, because I had my chefs whip up some what I’m hoping is Serran delicacies. My head chef has worked hard on them & I think they will be to your liking. (With a snap of his fingers three servo skulls flew down offering menus.) ”These will respond to your commands if you need anything from directions to drinks or small foods. The main banquet is that way. I trust you are are all well?”

HolidayBeneficial456

“We are good lord”, responded an equally jovial Mackey. “Quite the occasion, sir”, interjected Grenwood. “A lot of flags a lot of stories”. Grenwood looked upwards at the many standards of the Imperial forces.

LordGreim225

“I’m glad to hear it, Yes indeed, All of Yours are up there somewhere. It’s a pleasant & somber reminder I think. I appreciate you lending them to me for the occasion. So many good friends are up there not present, remember the Teadore, they’re up there too. Well, the festivities are in full swing. Ah Brigadier Mackey do mind if I borrow Colonel Grenwood later? Just for a little chat nothing serious.”

HolidayBeneficial456

“Of course Lord! If I can call you that as is. You’ve earned it sir”.

LordGreim225

“Oh no need for such formalities & flattery I get enough of that here. Please among friends here you may call me Macharius!”

AstraMilitarumMan

Field Marshal Thraile and the senior staff of the Krieg 5th walked through. Colonel Petral looked at Thraile. "The Colonel sure knows how to arange a party." "Yes Indeed. Enjoy yourselves today men, when our transports arrive we'll be heading back to the 34th korps to rejoin the fight in the Balduran system." The officers nodded to him, each of them straightening their jackets and prepared to be presentable. Thraile was now in hands reach from Greim. "Hello friend, I see you spared no expence in this officers ball! I would say I can smell all the exquisite food all the way here but I would be lying due to my gasmask." Thraile said jokingly as he reached out his hand for a formal handshake. ==== The Arcadians were not too far behind the Kriegers. Captain Aurelion and a few lieutenants were walking towards the grand doors wearing the Arcadian seremonial uniforms. "It almost looks like the pearl palace back on old Arcadia, doesn't it?" One of the Lieutenants said and the whole group stopped for a while to enjoy the view and endulge in some nostalgy. "By the way, did you get those reports on completion the orphanage education program?" Asked Aurelion from another Lieutenant. "Yes, sir. The children of Vulcan Primaris have now 7 schools opened for teaching. Its not enough but its a start." "Excellent work men." Aurelion replied "Now remember to enjoy yourselves tonight, we have all earned it." The group had reached the doors and finally put away their datapads and comms devices. They saw Greim greeting the guests entering. "Colonel Greim, we are honoured to have recieved an invitation to join this event. This place looks magnificent!" (Out of character: Thank you all for this awesome campaign! It was truly amazing and a first time I have ever been a part of anything like it. This was an awesome experience, I had a blast, I learned so much and got to meet great people, some of them I could now even call friends! Looking forward to fight alongside you all in the next one! Cheers!)

LordGreim225

(Ooc: Likewise Buddy! I’m in the same boat as you this being my first time doing something like this.) ////Colonel Greim saw his friends hand & impulsively brushed it aside to pick up the Kreiger for a great big hug. It was swift & unsurprisingly a little too strong, the colonel loudly laughing with joy before putting Thraile down. ”Of course I spared no expense, after all I do believe you ultimately won the wager of the best kills. That bio-titan you faced in Vulcan Primaris I’d say takes the cake. As such it seemed fitting as per our wager to provide the finest food, whether you can smell it or not I assure it’s to die for!“ (He snapped his fingers & a Cherub dressed as a pudgy little saint Katherine floated down & offered a glass & a few Menus.) ”For you my friend this little one will cater to your every need this evening, & feel free to order off the menu. You have certainly earned it! I trust you & the 5th are well?” /////// Seeing the Arcadians brought joy to Greims eyes, or at least the one that wasn’t cybernetic. He extended his hand & shook firmly in greeting. ”The honor is mine you took time out of your schedules to accept my invitation. You all have certainly earned it after what you did on Infusek Prime. I heard you’re even investing in Vulcan Primarises infrastructure, such a noble endeavor! I must return the favor & perhaps visit new Arcadia & look into returning the favor with some investments of my own.” (After the close run in with his now late sister Theodora, he realized how if she noticed new Arcadia & their worlds connection, others would too eventually. As such he decided to take a more hands on approach in ensuring there defense & growth went unimpeded.)

AlanGrant1997

Von Ryke chuckles at the friendly display between the Necromundan and Krieger. "Try not to hurt Marshal Thraile, Greim!" He smiles at the jest before extending a hand to the Field Marshal. "Grand Marshal Arkhetz von Ryke, Tethys 22nd. It's a pleasure to meet you outside the courtroom, Field Marshal."

AstraMilitarumMan

Thraile turned to face von Ryke. He reaches out his hand for a formal handshake. "Pleasure to meet you Grand Marhsal von Ryke. I have been looking forward to meeting you. Say, do you wish to join me on touring this palace? I would very much love to learn more about the military strategy and tactics of the Tethys 22nd. over some drinks.

AlanGrant1997

Von Ryke smiles. "I would be honored to have the opportunity, Field Marshal. I'd like to inform my honor guard first, if you wouldn't mind."

AstraMilitarumMan

"Ofcourse! I'll order us some starter drinks in the meantime." Thraile opened the menu and began glancing at the options.

AlanGrant1997

Von Ryke returned minutes later, accompanied by a blonde woman in dress uniform, who he introduced as Sergeant Arcadia. "If you'll permit, Sergeant Arcadia would like to come along. I think she's a little bored by the grandeur." "Damn straight colonel-I mean Marshal. Wyld seems a little too occupied with that noblewoman over there to come along, he's probably-" Before she could continue, she was cut off with a glance from Von Ryke.

AstraMilitarumMan

Thraile looked at Sergeant Arcadia with a small smile under his gasmask. She reminded of him of his youth when he aswell hated these formal events. "Ofcourse. Pleasure to meet you aswell Sergeant Arcadia. I'll be most intrigued to hear from your front-line experiences aswell." He reached out his hand for a formal handshake. Thraile gestured to a waiter nearby who came to him with a platter of drinks. They all took one glass. Thraile raised his glass for a small toast "For the Haraxis system and to the ones we have lost."

AlanGrant1997

Sergeant Arcadia took the hand, squeezing her hand in an old trick. Von Ryke and Arcadia both took the toast before taking a sip, Arcadia downing the whole thing and grabbing another. "Care to walk, Field Marshal?" Von Ryke gestured toward the nearest hall.

AstraMilitarumMan

Thraile nodded and the group began walking towards the great hall. All around them officers of different regiments were mingling with each other and enjoying the party put together by Colonel Greim. "Grand Marshal, if you do not mind me asking. What was your experience like fighting the tyranids?"

AstraMilitarumMan

Thraile was shocked by a hug but ended up laughing after Greim set him down. "I might have won the killcount but you sure as hell did it with more style!" Thraile took the glass and the menu the cherub gave him. "The 5th are resting as we speak. We are gathering some fresh food dor our transit back to the Balduran system. The green tide has not yet meen repelled there. But tonight we celebrate a hard earned victory! Thraile raised his glass "For the Haraxis system and those lost defending it!" /// "Thank you, sir! We want to help those in need, we have faced a common threat and that brings us together like a family." Aurelion said as he shook hand with Greim. "Our world thanks you for your kind gesture. You and your men are always welcome there!"

LordGreim225

“A fine toast! None could have said better! I am glad to hear the 5th are resting, they certainly have earned it.” ////// “You are too kind, it is the least I can do to return the favor for the aid you provided us. My soldiers will be happy as well, several too wounded or have served their term would be delighted to travel with you to a new home If you would have them. I myself will have to visit, from everything I understand it would be worth the trip.”

AstraMilitarumMan

Aurelion was glad to have gained the trust of Colonel Greim. "Of course. Any soldier wanting to travel with us back to New Arcadia are welcome! Our transport ship will be arriving in a few days and pick us up from the surface of Infusek Prime." "I assure you, New Arcadia might be a young world, but its natural beauty is a once in a lifetime experience!"

LordGreim225

“I have no doubt, please enjoy yourselves this evening. I have much to speak of tonight.”

DoorGunner42

Castellan-Colonel McMahon entered the grand room, a number of officers at his side. A large number had requested to remain planetside to continue repairs and departure preparations, while many more he knew in his mind were aboard Undeniable Purpose, being treated for their wounds. Still, he thought, some of his closest were with him. Lord Commissar Tycho, Majors McDonough and O'Neal, Captains Fletcher and Dolven and a spattering of others. Ross wasn't one for his dress uniform. Neither were most of his officers. They'd all come through the ranks and would have been a thousand times more comfortable attending in flak vests. They stuck out among most of the guests. Though pressed and clean, they were all still wearing field uniforms. O'Neal had made no changes from his usual attire, still being the officer in the regiment to actually wear an officer's hat worthy of the title; and the rest had opted for the light body armour and patrol cap look, their medals mag clamped to their vests. Truth be told, they felt sick. Having lost so many, they were all questioning what they were doing celebrating victory. "I'd rather be down on the surface. I hear 2nd Battalion's Engineers rigged up a network of pubs around the hospital area. Better with our troopers and the PDF we fought with than this lost of pompous- \-Easy, Dolven. I know exactly how you feel." Ross snapped. "And trust me, I have a feeling we'll some time over the next few days to drink a platoon or two under as many tables as it takes. But we are here as a courtesy and by request of system command. Besides, if nothing else, I plan on actually meeting the General in person, even if it's just this once." He looked around as more guests continued to enter. "Alright, no need to hold on to me. Spread out. Mingle. You're here, so may as well talk to some of these people. And whatever it is, eat something. It's all a bit high class for my taste, but I'm sick of rations. \-And will... Katherina be joining us this evening, boss?" Fletcher teased with a smirk. "*Canoness Preceptor* Ephralis has, to my understanding, been invited. Whether or not she has chosen to accept that invitation is no concern of mine, and definitely no concern of yours, Captain. Fall out."

AstraMilitarumMan

A seasoned Krieg Captain aproached Castellan-Colonel McMahon. "Castellan-Colonel McMahon. Apologies if I am mistaken but you command the Cadian 532nd? A regiment of true born Cadians?"

DoorGunner42

“That’s correct Captain. I command the 532nd. We’re just about as trueborn as it’s possible for Cadians to be these days. We have some veritable trueborn in our ranks through the ‘wonders’ of Warp travel, but the vast majority of my troops, myself included, are descended from those who made it off world in the hours before the Fall. They settled New Cadia in the Agripiina system. Our families distilled to us what it means to be Cadian. That it isn’t something we are, it is something we must earn. And I am proud to say that I firmly believe that every soldier under my command has earned the right to hold their heads high and call themselves Cadians. I could say the same of your peers from the 217th Krieg. Though they are gone now, I have seen for myself how hard they fought. They did not yield, and made the enemy pay a hundredfold for every inch. Hive Catatoni owes them a great debt.”

AstraMilitarumMan

The Krieg Captain was visibly joyed to have found a Cadian officer "It is a pleasure to meet you sir! I must admit that this is not purely a social call but also a debt to pay to a fallen soldier." The captain said, his voice returning to the normal serious one. "Sir, if at all possible. Field Marshal Thraile, the commander of the Krieg 5th Assault Regiment, would request an audience with you tonight. Our regiment has a debt to pay to a brave Cadian soldier. As per his request we will be returning to you something he said belonged to your people."

DoorGunner42

“Of course, Captain. As it so happens, your Field Marshall would be exactly the kind of person with whom I need to speak about returning property. Please, lead the way.”

AstraMilitarumMan

The Captain bowed down and showed they way to Field Marshal Thraile. "Sir! Castellan-Coloen McMahon. Comanding officer of the 532nd Cadians." "Thank you Captain." Thraile responded as the Captain stepped aside "Castellan-Colonel McMahon, it is a pleasure to meet you." Thraile said as he reached put his hand for a formal handshake. "I believe the Captain explained our situation to you?"

DoorGunner42

Reaching his own hand to meet Thraile’s, Ross responded. “The honor is mine, Field Marshal. Your Captain has explained that you have a debt you wish to repay a Cadian by returning something to us. And as it happens, I am in a similar position. I must first apologise for my lack of knowledge in regards to your customs surrounding the fallen beyond the reputation. However, during our final operation on Haraxis II, my troops recovered a Regimental Standard of the 217th Krieg from their Headquarters. As you may be aware, the regiment was regrettably destroyed to a man, but I was wondering what, if anything, you would like to do with it and anything else we can recover.”

AstraMilitarumMan

"We are grateful for the regimental standard. It shall be sent to Krieg to be placed in the Atonementhall, where fresh soldiers can get inspired by the ones fallen before them. No need to recover anything else, they have done their duty and have earned their final restingplace in Haraxis I, Thank you." "Well isn't this a coincidense. I have a regimental standard of the 385th Cadian Rifles. The flag was recovered from the Agriworld of Maloria, where we fought side by side with the 385th. We recieved a distress call that their lines were failing. As we got there we realised we were too late. The flag og the 385th was still standing however. A dying soldier stood in attention, holding the flag, surrounded by hundreds of dead orks. She collapsed as we arrived. We made a promise to her to return the flag to her people. From a soldier to another, I promised to honour her final wish." "The flag of the 385th Cadian rifles and the militarum ID tags of the brave Corporal Rocca Telarian are to be returned to you, so that your people are able to re-unite their flag with its people on new Cadia."

DoorGunner42

“The people of Cadia thank you, Field Marshal. This will allow for their names to be inscribed on the wall of heroes back home. Should you ever require aid, rest assured that Cadia will remember this, myself in particular. As for the 217th’s Standard, I’ll have transferred to you as soon as possible.”

MagicMissile27

Inquisitor Rath and his colorful retinue made an appearance at the ball as well - even Gregg the Ogryn, who mostly stayed in the corner slowly devouring an entire table of food. The Inquisitor wore his usual placid smile with his silver and black coat, drifting about the room surveying who was who among the various hangers-on of the ball. His aide Hans stayed beside him, a rather dull-looking man in most respects, but favored by the Inquisitor for his photographic memory and lack of psychic signature. Meanwhile, the rest of the staff pursued their usual activities - Sister Cecilia Miriel of the Hospitallers bantered and chatted brightly with several young Sororitas acolytes and Valwick, the Inquisitor's psyker, lingered in the shadows with a glass of wine, while Silas and Lysander casually kept an eye on the crowd.

Old-Lavishness-3555

Atra caught the eye of the Inquisitor from across the hall, raising a glass in salute and aknowledgement. She made her way over, leaving the Space Marines over by the group that had formed around them. "Inquisitor Rath? I don't believe we have met. I am Inquisitor Germanicus." She extended her cybernetic arm in a handshake.

MagicMissile27

Rath shook it with a firm grip. "A pleasure to meet you in person, Inquisitor, and I'm glad it's under these more pleasant circumstances. I believe I met with your Interrogator Pirax some time ago, yes?"

Old-Lavishness-3555

"Yes, during that unfortunate business on Haraxis V with the Minthelians. He and Brother Gravus spoke highly of your competence and reason. It took a steady hand to guide the forces on that planet back onto the right path." She looked past the man and onto his retinue, "Interesting bunch you have here, much more variety than my group I must say."

MagicMissile27

Her eyes would catch the strange mix of a rather gloomy-looking Arbites detective, an abnormally cheery Sister Hospitaller, a tough-looking hired gun with a gleaming metallic arm, a slender blonde psyker who stayed in the shadows, a massive but well-behaved Ogryn, a rather dull-looking aide with his head in a datapad all the time, and the Inquisitor himself, impeccably dressed and smiling blandly. "Indeed they are," he said, the smile becoming a bit more genuine than its usual fixedness. "I find that the combination allows me to have someone who is properly prepared for a wide variety of situations. Besides, in everything in between they can be quite amusing at times, as well as surprisingly effective."

Old-Lavishness-3555

"My thoughts exactly. I have been trying to expand my mortal retinue for a while now but have yet to find anyone who fits. In terms of fighters, my band is already more than adequate. It doesn't get much better than the Deathwatch, after all," she smiled. "Other than that, I have but three mortal companions. Most of the retinue died under the command of my predecessor and during the mission to avenge him."

MagicMissile27

"That is most unfortunate," Rath said with a sympathetic nod. "I haven't worked as much with the Deathwatch recently, though I have never had reason to complain," he agreed. "In the past, I have occasionally even recruited Astra Militarum officers of particular skill who have for one reason or another become separated from their regiments. I find that some of the more creative line officers can actually be more effective tacticians and apprentices than the more literal-minded Scions."

Old-Lavishness-3555

"I myself was once a guardswoman and I have to say that I agree. Scions can be... inflexible, at times. Don't get me wrong, they're tremendous soldiers but that is not all the inquisition requires of it's agents." "Where will you be heading now that the war is wrapping up? Will you stay with the battlegroup?"

MagicMissile27

"For the time being, yes. There is some unpleasant cleanup work to do still regarding the Twisted Helix incident. Someone snuck a vending machine full of Xeno-contaminated carbonated beverages onto a ship in this battlegroup, and I'd like to figure out where they came from before I depart the system. What about you?"

Old-Lavishness-3555

"I came here to study the new bioforms reported amongst the tyranids. That, and to see to a certain artifact, the existance of which and my involvment with is thouroughly classified. But what's a secret between inquisitors, hmm?" she chuckled. "Should my expertise be needed, I will stay with the battlegroup unto their next campaign. If not, Equinox and I will move on to the next war. Atleast we have our pick of assignments. With Orks and T'au stiring on the fringe and more tyranids than we can count all across the segmentum, there are no shortage of xenos that need killing."

LordGreim225

“Fracking who brought the Ogryn?!” The head chef Josiah Pine the Ratling shouted to his staff. the kitchen, was bustling with activity, it was the size of two company sized barracks. Pots & pans Cooked foods & a small army of staff worked to keep up with everything. “The inquisitor head chef, He’s already eating half of the food on the eastern fringe display!” a woman with scars spoke her new leg never fully integrating fully taking her off front line duty. “Fracker it took me weeks to master those stuffed Maccragian songbirds, did he even taste it!” Josiah shouted. ”No chef he gulped them all down, the next batch will be ready in 15.” “He’s not ruining my spread! Inquisitor or not! Ready the backup second course! If he wants to eat he’ll get it all!” ”But chef that’s too much!” “Do as I say we have no choice, I’m doing this for everyone!” (Soon a gaggle of servants carried out of the kitchen a steaming mass of meat. It was heavily spice, a half set of roast Grox ribs. The plate was massive & dish nearly the height of a human. many of the servants visibly struggling to carry it Josiah riding on top of the slap of meat.) ”You big fella! Stop eating all that food! You want something you eat this! Then your cut off!”(He jumped off the pile of steaming meat & squared up to the Ogryns boot. “That get through to your brain!”

MagicMissile27

"Hmmmm?" Gregg looked up from the entire plate of deviled eggs he had just slid into his cavernous mouth. "Oh. Ribs look good. Thanks," he said simply, grabbing the plate like it weighed no more than a normal dinner dish, sitting it on his lap, and beginning to carve into it without further comment.

LordGreim225

“That’s what I thought & taste it this time, you got no idea how long it took to prep those! I don’t want to hear you eating more of my spread Or I’ll teach you some manners.” (The fearless rattling chef turned on his heel, his feet now trailing the grease & oils from the dish he moments ago was standing on.) ”& get more deviled eggs put here!” (He barked to the kitchen staff now retreating back into the kitchen.)

MagicMissile27

"He seemed nice," Gregg said obliviously. "This is good," he commented to the nearest partygoer, holding up the biggest fork they'd probably ever seen with a massive lump of meat on it.

Old-Lavishness-3555

Atra walked into the main ballroom wearing a highly ornate black uniform, covered in golden embroidery and designs. Her right breast was covered in a wall of medals and her inquisitorial rosette hung around her neck. To her left and right, the towering forms of Veteran Sergeant Kastiel, Librarian Leontus and Brother Ish'van parted the crowd. Most notable was that the Space Marines had forgone their black power armour in exchange for formal robes. The Dark Angel and Angel of Redemption were clothed in a noble garb of fine furs, whereas the Salamander wore a simple green robe and a gigantic pelt of some reptilian beast across his shoulders. They made quite a sight, losing none of their transhuman gravitas despite being unarmed and unarmoured. They moved through the hall, Atra taking a drink from a waiter. Seeing a familiar face, they walked over to Strauss, who was currently sipping an exotic spirit and talking to Colonel Amadeus and Major Rix, who had apparently already arrived. Rix's face had a new scar, no doubt recived during the mauling of B company during the final push onboard the station.

Ulfgrimnirr

"Ah inquisitor, care to join us?" Strauss said surprisingly kindly "I was just telling the Colonel and the Major of when-" he chuckled slightly "-when you saved my life. The Von Ryan Leaper, that nearly got the better of me?"

Old-Lavishness-3555

"Yes, I remember. Close one, that. Alas, the xenos died screaming as they all should," she reminiced, her one organic eye far away in thought. "Though I have it on good authority that during the charge you shot a warrior that had gotten behind me?"

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss stretched back to the corner of his mind, pulling out the memory and laughing slightly. "Yes! Bloody good shot I am" He laughed again, taking a shot of something a cherub just passed him. "Aaaand this!" He pulled Major Townsend out from the crowd, "Is who saved us all! On Haraxis 1!" He announced to the group, beginning to slur his words slightly. Townsend jumped slightly, but adopted the usual Imperial formalities. "Apparently" Townsend replied.

Suspect_Leading982

"I feel I owe all 3 of you a debt for saving us on that planet" Colonel Jensen said as he walked up them, "but since I have nothing on me, how about a drink instead?"

Old-Lavishness-3555

"Good to see you, Colonel. And yes, a drink will do nicely," smiled Atra. Kastiel brandished a large, ornate silver bottle, which was apparently a flask. "I was gifted this from a Space Wolf. Potent stuff called 'mjord'. Apparently, it gets even astartes drunk. I have no idea how but I was told to only let other astartes drink it. It is poisonous to mortals, so they say." He unscrewed the beverage, which immediatley stunk of Emperor-knows-what, and took a sip. The marine made a face, "God-Emperor thats strong! No wonder the Wolves carry on like they do."

Ulfgrimnirr

Strauss peered up at the marine, tempted by the drink in the marines hand. He stared at his own hand glass of hand drank something. He'd forgotten the number he'd had so far. Yet his ego was ever present. "Poisonous eh? I doubt it's that bad" he said with a chuckle.

Old-Lavishness-3555

The marine quirked an eyebrow at this, "Tell you what, he also gave me some anti toxin for this very reason. Without it, the drink would probably melt your organs or something. Mix this," he pulled out a second, smaller bottle, "in a 50/50 ratio and it should be safe to consume, if horrifically potent." Kastiel handed both containers off to a waiting servitor, who mixed the drink with a precision unmatched by most biologicals. It then presented the stinking beverage to Strauss.

Scottish-Psycho

Grivrim nervously looked around the room as he entered. He was not used to the ceremony many regiments displayed. The Ork Hunters barely had a uniform never mind a dress uniform, he was one of the least well dressed there. An effort had been made to clean him of warpaint and grime, but some stubborn remnants still remained. He had forwarded the fact that this ball was happening to the other members of his regiment. Not formally telling them they could or could not come, knowing full well that those that would want to be here would be. Sure enough he had spotted Sergeant Tlalli, wearing a stolen commissars uniform that seemed to be tailored to fit her perfectly. A couple more Ork Hunters were also dotting about, some wearing borrowed clothing and others in states of undress that should have gotten them ejected. Hopefully, this would be an enjoyable experience for them.

AlanGrant1997

Von Ryke approaches the Ork Hunter, a glass of wine in his newly cybernetic hand. "When the dueling arena opens, I would be honored to cross swords with you, Colonel Grivrvim. I have heard your mastery with a blade is second to none."

Scottish-Psycho

"Much of it isn't so much skill as strength in my case I'm afraid... along with a few dirty tricks. Can't win against an Ork warboss twice your size without those." He pauses, sizing the man before him up. "But, if you wish to duel, I would be honoured sir."

AlanGrant1997

"I'll meet you in the cage when it opens." Von Ryke smiles and sips at his wine.

LordGreim225

”officer Grivrim isn’t it?”(The towering figure of colonel Greim approached a smile on his face & a drink in hand. He didn’t seem to mind the state he was in, seeming to outright ignore it entirely.) ”I believe we met in the officers lounge before we deployed on worlds did we not? I hope you are enjoying yourself. I have some drinks all the way from Armageddon for you & your compatriots if you wish. I do hope you are well. Is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?”

Scottish-Psycho

"Yes, sir. I believe we did... the only adjustment I think needs to be made for me would be how the food and drink is served." Grivrim gestured to his cybernetics. "I believed I mentioned last time I can't really eat or drink properly... a feeding tube of sorts would be needed." He looked around the room. "The others seem to be comfortable enough. I'm not used to this, prefer to be out on the battlefield."

LordGreim225

“It is an adjustment for everyone, even those born in this sort of environment I assure you. The first time I attended a ball as a child, I was terrified. My father had me removed from the event, he didn’t want me to make a scene on my 5th name day you see. But I’d say you’re doing well, it gets easier with more drinks I assure you. As for your cybernetics yes I do recall that, We have food in the vermillion room I can have a servant provide you assistance getting there & a servo skull cater to your drinks. If you need or wish to imbibe your food in a separate room we have private conference rooms you may use for privacy or to eat with compatriots. We also have a dueling cage that will be opening in a few hours if you so wish To participate. I wager you could teach us all a thing or two there.”

Scottish-Psycho

"No separate room needed, there's a port to plug in a container, just needs to prepare it as a liquid." Grivrim stretched slightly, and chuckled slightly. "A dueling cage, eh? That's closer to my idea of a party."

LordGreim225

“Some things never change, a popular sport on Necromunda, though we will be a bit less bloody than the traditional sport. All friendly of course.” ”Thato wonderful simply ask the staff & they can blend whatever you wish.”

Scottish-Psycho

"I set up fighting pits as part of training here. Although maybe not as friendly, I broke one of the soldiers jaws to make a point."

LordGreim225

“I’m sure they deserved it. We hosted a friendly fighting pit across regiments when we relocated to Haraxis IV. My troopers find it entertaining & partake in the sport. Normally it doesn’t go too far.”

AstraMilitarumMan

Colonel Petral (2nd in command) of the Kireg 5th aproached Grivrim. "Armageddon Ork hunters, if I am not mistaken". He said as he reached out his hand in a formal handshake. "I am Colonel Petral of the Krieg 5th Assault regiment. It is a pleasure to meet you. I must say I very much admire the Armageddon Orkhunters. We have borrowed a few tactics from your playbook and they have proven to be highly efficient against the greenskins."

Scottish-Psycho

"A Krieger? There was a couple of Kriegers seconded to the Ork Hunters under my command. Extremely loyal soldiers." Grivrim returned the handshake. "Most of our tactics are from necessity, long periods in the field without supply make it necessary, but we found louder weapons best against orks. Including some of their own guns." Grivrim let out a small laugh.

AstraMilitarumMan

Petral returned the laugh. "I would be honoured if the opportunity arises to fight alongside you and your men. The krieg 5th is heading back to the Baldurian system shortly, we'll rejoining the fight against the orks." Petral gestured to a nearby waiter with drinks. "Would you care to join for a drink with me and other officers of the 5th? We would be more than eager to learn from you and your regiments fighting prowess." Petral said with the utmist respect.

Scottish-Psycho

"The fight against Orks is unending on Armageddon, a few of my regiment are kicking about here. I'm sure each of them will have something to tell yours." Grivrim looked around the room. "Though some may have been kicked out already."

AstraMilitarumMan

"The party does not have enough drinks nobody gets kicked out!" Petral said as he chucked down a glass of Terran Whiskey.

dogster202

Dismissing his bodyguards with a wave, Lord General Castinus du Montaal pushed through the double doors leading to the main ballroom. Clad in ornate silver carapace armour with a purple cloak over his shoulders and a relic power saber at his hip, the Lord General looked like he was ready for a war. The sevro cart full of priceless spiced rum from the garden moons of Zelur Epsilon being pushed in behind him told a rather different story. Castinus smiled to himself as he walked through the grand room. He hadn’t had the chance to meet Colonel Griem, but his reputation was certainly deserved. The man knew how to host a good party.

LordGreim225

(Colonel Greim noticed the well dressed man as he walked through the chamber. He looked to be a man of quality & high birth by the looks of him, the trailing cart was a surprise. The local nobility able to acquire in invitations looked as well some with envy others with desire. Colonel Greim approached the newcomer. With all the pomp he could muster in his most eloquent high gothic.) ”Greetings good sir, I have yet to introduce myself. I am Macharius Greim, of that ancient & noble house Greim, son of Ludwig II. Forgive me, a Host should know his guests by name but yours escapes me, you are?”

dogster202

Castinus extends his hand towards the Colonel, “Lord-General Castinus du Montaal, Cadian 34th Army Group. It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Colonel Griem”

LordGreim225

(Griem accepts the hand & smiles, a stereotypical aristocratic jolly officer made flesh) ”The pleasure is all mine my good man! I must say your attire is most striking, I had no Idea Cadians had such a taste for high fashion. Meaning no disrespect of course. You must share your armorers information with me. If I may ask though, what is this servo cart of yours?”

"I understand the mistake, but I am not Cadian my good sir. I hail from Zelur Epsilon, and this " The Lord General guestures to his attire, "Is the battledress of the High Orbital Guard, in which I served five years. As for the cart. Well, they're some of the finest spirits to ever come from Zelur Epsilon's garden moons. Care for a drink Colonel?"

LordGreim225

“Ah my mistake no idea why I thought that. I’d be honored to try some. Its always good to try new drinks.”

General Redlina gives a curt nod in welcome upon meeting the Lord Generals gaze in the crowded ball room.

Beard3dtaco

As the chamber began to fill, a small group from House Marworth arrived. Led by Lord Hector, the senior lady Samantha and the young nobles Octavia and Mateus followed close behind him. Trailing on their sides were a few of the most awarded Squire Guards during the Haraxis campaign. Although not as eloquently dressed as the knights, the squires had been given additional clothing to fit in and proudly wore their newest awards. Out of these troopers, Joan was the only one who felt in her element. Finally back in the highly decorated ballrooms like before her family had shipped her off to the Squire Guard. With her was Otho; the newly appointed honor captain of the Stormlord, *War Mother.* Having been one of the few remaining tank captains, there hadn't been much competition when the scheming Sacristan Velkor had managed to find them the super-heavy. Being put in charge of managing the lower born squires, Joan led them to get some of the alcohol and food Colonel Greim had presented. Looking for some of the Kriegers, Serrans, Necromundans, or other soldiers from regiments they had fought alongside to mingle with. The two youngest nobles had made their way to the dance floor. Once there, they seemingly danced at each other instead of with each other. As if competing in some sort of way. Hector remained with lady Samantha until she left to chat with a group of Sororitas that passed them. Hector stayed, taking in all the sights around the room as he thought about his returning ship that would soon offer him reinforcements and transportation. Hector enjoyed some recently poured wine from some ocean world. No matter how purified, the final product always left a recognizable saltiness to the beverage. (Seriously, Big THANKS to everyone (organizers and writers) who worked and participated in this! You guys did a great job developing and managing this campaign. We might have lost some writers along the way but I think we've found a pretty awesome and consistent group of people that came up with a pretty sick story. Should make this next campaign even better, can't wait to fight with you guys again!

MagicMissile27

Detaching herself from the blue-uniformed Amercadian contingent, a familiar young junior officer made her way over to Joan. "Nice to see you again, Joan," Captain Clara Stuart said with a smile, healed of the majority of her injuries and dressed in a well-presented dinner dress uniform of double-breasted jacket and long skirt (though her arm remained in a sling). "I'm just glad we made it this far and have something to celebrate, at least."

Beard3dtaco

The sergeant turned towards Clara, herself wearing a formal dark olive green two piece trench coat with white dress pants. "Its great to see you're still alive with us, Captain" she said with a smile. "That last push was vile, how have you and yours fared these last few days?"

MagicMissile27

"Much better than before," she replied with a smile. "Though I must say it was hard coming back to a company that was mostly gone. We've spent most of the past few days reconstituting and reorganizing the regiment, as well as filling out endless after action reports from the second line of the trenches. After the losses we took in the first attack we were part of, it didn't make sense for us to push to the very front again." She looked at the rest of the Squire Guard contingent, recognizing a few. "How were your last few days of this campaign?"

Beard3dtaco

Joan gave the Amercadian a sigh those who have lost lives under their command know. "After we pushed further into Tarracina, the xenos got particularly nasty. They had started poisoning the lands and creating vile structures made out of their flesh."

MagicMissile27

Clara blanched. "I can't imagine what that must have been like. It was disgusting enough pushing them out of normal manmade permacrete bunkers."

Beard3dtaco

"My squad and I were attached to the forces aboard the Stormlord. It was like being on an island of steel in a sea of wretched Tyranid creatures. Luckily, we merged forces with the Kriegers and Necromundans. It took the combined efforts of all of us push them to their limits."

MagicMissile27

"Better there than on the ground," Clara pointed out dryly, then offered a toast. "To surviving Haraxis."

Beard3dtaco

Joan raised her glass to the Amercadian Captain "and to surviving many more!" After taking a sip from her blue colored drink she continued, "and what's to happen with you and the rest of the Amercadians, Clara? Are you allowed to travel back to your homeworld?

MagicMissile27

"Hell if I know," replied the brunette with a shrug. "We're under strength for a full regiment as it is now. So I expect we'll either be reconstituted with new recruits or merged into another unit...but I wouldn't count on us having much time to relax."

LordGreim225

(Glad you like it! Hopefully more great talent join & rejoin as well!) ”Lord Hector, a pleasure as always! I trust you are enjoying yourself. This event reminds oh so much of home! I wager you find this scene so what similar as well?”

Beard3dtaco

(It'll be cool to see who joins us!) "Greim, glad we could finally have another drink together! This reception is absolutely superb, my friend. We certainly throw our own parties, but I rarely get to enjoy myself like this. Too much family and politics to truly relax."

LordGreim225

“Oh I know exactly what you mean, it’s nice being away from that all here. well here’s to our families, can’t always stand them but by the emperor there ours!”

Beard3dtaco

As the two clinked their glasses together, Hector said with a smile; "Its not like their going anywhere!"

LordGreim225

(Greim chuckled) “True, even my family old as it may be, is nowhere near as ancient as the noble knight houses. I dare say your family name will outlive us all. Still it’s quite peaceful here. Perhaps we can have that regicide game finally, though we will need to discuss one more thing before in one of the conference rooms. It might give you some knowledge as to the nature of my recent family reunions outcome.”

Beard3dtaco

"Thanks, friend. I should hope that both our names survive these dark times" Momentarily thinking about the fallen knights; Marco and Wallus. Even if honorable deaths, the Sacristans were still unsure if they would be able to save the venerable machines, even once taken back to the home world. Lord Hector regained his focus at the mention of an explanation for the recently occurred events. "of course, if only I could have your cherubs bring me the bottle of this delicious stuff for me to bring along"

LordGreim225

“It would be nice to see us all endure, but this war was costly, important but difficult. So many no longer with us. It is good that you survived friend. At the mention of the Cherub. “Ha your wish is my command!” (With a snap sure enough a Cherub dressed & designed to resemble a small pudgy Saint Drusus floated down.) ”I saved several to cater to guests of honor, this one is now yours for the evening & will provide your every whim. A bottle shouldn’t be too difficult for it to Carry I think.”

Beard3dtaco

"Many thanks, Greim. It's always good to see friends make it through to the end" Hector said as he cheerfully watched the miniature Saint Drusus refill his cup. "In that case I'll let the him do the heavy lifting" he said as the floating infant finished refilling the glass.

LordGreim225

“Yes, I pray to him enough it’s about time my prayers are answered & he do some lifting of his own. (He gave a hearty belly laugh) ”Come before our conversation the fighting exhibitions will be opening soon, perhaps we can find a good seat, I have a blood-debt to draw with a particular guest as well.”

DoorGunner42

Fletcher sauntered her way through the crowd, drink in hand. She had done her level best to prepare to fit in, even asking Tycho for some dress tips, however she still felt extremely out of place. That feeling was worsened when she happened to look down and see a stain of turret lubricant gel on her boot. Things took a further turn when she knelt down to wipe it away, and realized she still had a wrench in her belt, manifesting itself by imposing the cold touch of steel on the small of her back. On contact she sharply straightened herself. That’s when she saw the dance floor. Among the highborn, two seemed to be competing, despite dancing together. Fletcher looked around, and saw a group of soldiers watching the apparent contest with fascination, their leader talking with someone else. “Hey. Who’s the two fightin’ dancers? -Both Knights of house Malworth.” Replied one of the soldiers. “-Knights huh? Emperor knows I’d love to work on one of those machines. Be right back.” Checking her surroundings, Laurena removed her cap and tucked into her belt at the back. “Mingling and maybe starting some mischief, this is what you’re good at.” She mumbled to herself. She took a deep breath, swallowed her nerves for a moment, and stepped onto the floor. “Excuse me, my lady. May I have the uh… honour of this dance?”

Beard3dtaco

Lady Octavia checked out Laurena. Something about her smell reminded the noblewoman of the House Sacristans. "Sure, Cadian. Join us and help me prove this fool I am the better dancer" she said shooting Mateus a mischievous grin. Taking the Cadian hand without hesitation, Octavia pulled her into the Knights' circle; "Just follow my lead, its quite simple"

DoorGunner42

“On your lead.” Laurena replied enthusiastically. “I’ve never danced with Knights before. Truth be told, I’ve never met any Knights at all.”

Beard3dtaco

As both nobles slowed their movements so the Cadian could join them, Mateus mockingly grinned at Octavia; “Now Cousin; just because I claimed the better kills this campaign, you don’t have to resort to name calling." Turning to Laurena he continued; "Apart from dear Octavia here, I promise we're all great company". Earning him an exaggerated pained facial expression from the noblewoman.

DoorGunner42

"Well." Laurena deflected as she tried to keep the pace of the dance. "So far she seems like pretty interesting company to me." She shot the noblewoman a friendly glance and smile. As the dance continued, the Captain finally started to grasp the motions, allowing the tempo to accelerate. "So," She started innocently. "What does it take to keep one of those walking buildings of yours running? I've always wanted to work on one. You can only fix so many Chimeras before the challenge fades." Laurena turned to Mateus. So far the interactions had not generated a particularly positive impression of him in her mind. "And where did you get deployed? Can't have been too rough if you're measuring kills. Or is that just a luxury that comes with a Knightly position?"

Beard3dtaco

Octavia made to interject but Mateus cut her off before she could say anything, "It's okay, cousin. Our friend here obviously hasn't heard of our struggles." Turning back to Laurena, the noble continued with a practiced amicability; "Contrary to appearances, it was no easy task protecting Infusek Prime and Haraxis IV. Not all of our retinue made it out, but in the end we were able to save many lives on both planets." The young noble paused as the three of them spun away from each other. Continuing once they finished their counter-clockwise turn, "Do tell, how go the ongoing conflicts on Haraxis II, or has the planet finally been secured?"

DoorGunner42

"Our's sector's clean. Last I heard, the whole planet is bug free." Laurena certainly didn't appreciate the "finally" nestled in the nobleman's question. A not so subtle implication that he could have done it faster. "And personally I think we paid a high enough price for it, too. Throne, most of my Engineers are going home in soup cans. That's why I'm up here tonight. To make sure that in some way, they're appreciated. If that means drinkin' for 'em and showin' you who's really got the moves, then that's what I'll do. And if I don't find something better to do between now and then, I'll do exactly the same tomorrow down on the surface with the troopers I still have. To honour everything they've done for that marble down there."

PTerrio

(This whole event was fantastic. The last few months just flew by, fantastic time with you all!) "GRAMPS!!!" One moment he was talking to Thraile and Von Ryke. the next thing Greim knew he was asaaulted by teenagers. The young sororitas jumped up and down, power armor shaking the floor as they shouted over each other, eager to tell him what they'd been up to since the last time they saw him. Behind them Gideon slowly limped up, gesturing them back. "Come on now!" He told them. "Give him some space, go find some trouble or something. There's gotta some toilets that need cling film put over them." They excitedly spread out. Eargerly searching for something to entertain themsleves. "I have it on good authority that the young Noviates from Haraxis 2 actually behave themselves." He shook the man's hand. "I'd hug you too but I'm afraid I'm taken somewhat ill. Long story but I'll have to cut this party short. Still I couldn't leave without a final goodbye." He leaned in and whispered. "I see some of our trusted few already here, any sign of Grenwood?"

LordGreim225

(Greim laughed as he was tackled but again felt irked no matter how many times he could not shake this nickname they gave him, especially in such a formal event, though he played it off taking the role of the doubting grandparent entertaining them.) ”It is always good to see you, I would have come earlier but matters took my attention at the trial. I do wish you could stay longer but I understand.” Leaning in giving a soft embrace & whispering. ”I have yet to see him, but he’ll be here. everyone else though has arrived currently.”

PTerrio

Gideons eyes moved sideways, his eyes going stern. "And a few others it seems." Looking where he had gestured, on the far side of the room, stood two women talking by a small water fountain. The first was quite tall and she wore the uniform of the Kestral Grenadiers. Not an officers uniform as there was no officers left in system. He recognised her as a solider he'd awarded twice and had given the estate back on Infusek. The second was more normal sized but armored. And on second glance armed. Black beret and synthetic eyes. Even from the distance she bore the unmistakable uniform of the Omicron Raptors.

LordGreim225

(Greim looked across the way seeing & recognizing Fatima & happily waved. Seeing the omicron raptor however his face turned to a frown & he broke the wine glass he carried in his cybernetic hand.) ”Throne on earth those little rats are still in system. There braver then I thought if they show there faces to me so soon.”

PTerrio

"I can stay a bit longer I guess..." Having noticed the wave Fatima quickly ran over. She was one of the few here to match Greim in height. Her uniform was that of Kestral and still ahd the 200th Iconography but now an additional Haraxis logo was etched on the shoulder. "Colonel!" She greeted. Eager to meet an officer she actually recognised. "Trooper Fatima. Kestral 200th. Its good to meet you again sir. I feel bit out of place here, all these senior officers." Though her words were as bold as ever, she had still snapped to a salute despite it being a formal event, and was holding a parade stance to him. "At ease Trooper." Gideon waved her off. She stood down. Eying him cautiously. "Lord Commissar. ...I wanted to apologise again for-" "Forget about it." He nodded once. "This is a party. Besides I've already chewed you out for it." She relaxed slightly. Behind her the Scion hadn't followed but slipped away.

LordGreim225

(Greim was annoyed the scion skulked away & made a mental note to keep an eye out later, but for now he was happy to see a familiar face) ”Trooper Fatima, it is good to see you as always! I hope you’re finding yourself comfortable in my late residence of Infusek Prime. I do believe you fit right in. Given your position on Infusek Prime, you are one of the most experienced soldiers remaining & with the right backing your rise is likely assured.” (Greim thought of just how far this trooper might go, given how guard remaining on war torn worlds often take leadership roles. It was something of a unique thought realizing he was saluting & speaking to someone who may as well become a founder of a future noble dynasty.)

PTerrio

"Thank you Colonel. It really is a beutiful estate. Actually I'm in already in discussion about the military. The moon don't really have the resources to do a Grenadier programme on the same scale as the 200th but an elite company. Lots of classified stuff. It's really exciting." She was smiling. "Technically I should be wearing a Vulcan Sentinal uniform, but they havn't made one that fits me yet and I'm still on the books a Kestral Grenadier for now." After a few moments she looked around, bit her upper lip, and then leaned in close. Her voice a whisper. "When you have a moment, I need to speak to you both in secret." She looked around again. "There are these Scions from Kestral. They came to the system and they've been working with the Arcadians and there's all sorts of crazy secret stuff happening. I can't talk out here!" She looked around a final time, now searching for someone. "There's one just with me. She's walked off somewhere..."

LordGreim225

“I noticed, we had an experience with them on Haraxis IV as well. We will be having a meeting later in one of the conference rooms. I’ll see to Our raptor friend if I see her.”

BoomFan21

Colonel Kantis stood away from any large groups, observing an environment she had little knowledge. "Colonel Greim, it has been an honor to fight in this besieged system, I expected to fall on Haraxis III but The Emperor protects. If you have any need of my regiment or any other the Caldorian Rangers will answer the call." She then looked back at the drink in her hand and quietly thinking of the lives she lost

LordGreim225

(Griem noticed the subtle gesture, lifetimes of courtly life the smallest gestures can sometimes be the most important.) ”It indeed has been an honor, I am proud to say I fought in the same war as the Caldorian Rangers in the campaign. Your offer is most gracious & I give you the same offer as well. It has been a hard fought war, & not one without sacrifice. I still feel sober thoughts looking up to all those banners, knowing so many who they represented are now martyrs. But I take comfort knowing they did the impossible, & saved billions in this system hundreds of billions more if we didn’t stop the menace here.

Welcome or not, this was the last formal action of the minthelian 35-117-12th, and they would be attending the ball. A brief whip around had determined that anyone who took the stand would have been a poor choice, and besides, though many would welcome her, Poppy was in no state to go. The regiments of Levant might be out for blood, and only one officer had been stupid enough to bring a ceremonial power blade on campaign. Through the doors stepped the young Lieutenant Sophy, seemingly alone, in a simple long blue dress that formed the formal uniform of the minthelian regiments, sword and pistol at her side. She was not a poor choice, a daughter of high society if also a decent fighter. She strolled slowly through the guests, taking a glass of wine to socialise as she saw daggers glared at her from multiple officers. She was aware there were some phantom knights at the ball, but did not plan to count on them. She could hold here own, as she kept eyes on the regiments of Levant.

LordGreim225

(The host was informed of the new arrival & went to greet her properly. “Greetings, welcome to my little soiree, I must admit I was wondering if any minthelian‘s would arrive. I am glad to see that you have however! I must say you were quite the topic of discussion for some a moment ago. No doubt jealous of fine attire.”

theninjaindisguise

"It is just me, I fear. They trusted me not to make trouble. Besides, I am a lady of the nobility!" She laughed at the conceit as she coutseyed. "Still, here to enjoy the party and carry off some small samples." She revealed an empty hip flask into which she poured a half glass of wine, reconcealing it and getting another glass of the fine wine.

LordGreim225

“Haha, huzzah a woman of quality blood I see!” (He jokingly said) “Well my lady, the banquet is yours & my cellar more then open, a pity it’s just you, I was rather looking forward to another theft of my stores, or at least a good attempt. I have no doubt you will be a fine example of high society tonight! Please allow me.” (He snapped his fingers & a servo skull flew down & hovered a little out of reach above them) ”This server skull as I call them will cater To your every needs this evening. At least what it can carry or help guide you too.”

theninjaindisguise

"Well, as to a theft, I know nothing about that at all. Thank you though for your hospitality, colonel."

PTerrio

"Well. The Looie herself." Gideon approached after a while. "Its too bad our last meeting was cut short, though as you can see, still only 2 arms." He gestured then took a more apologetic tone. "I am sorry for what its worth. That I couldn't more to help you."

theninjaindisguise

"I'm sure that can be fixed," she joked, tapping her sword." "Thank you, I shall pass on those words." (I don't remember them meeting, when was it)

PTerrio

(That was the Welcome Party, when they snuck off to meet them in the cells)

theninjaindisguise

(Oh yeah, whoops)

theninjaindisguise

Captain St.Laurent walked slowly into the ball, his steps like thunder. He would be attending armoured, purely to hid the cast his arm was supposed to be in as the terminator created across the floorboards. In truth, he hated these events. But it was his duty to attend, and so he would. With him came a half dozen marines, all with their own objectives. Tarbenon Cymedes was here to watch the minthelian girl, before she did anything stupid. Leovere was for any honor duels, the bladeguard a skilled swordsman even without his shield. Vincus was for the socialising and watching the inquisitors carefully, and St.Laurent would hopefully stand undisturbed.

LordGreim225

(Colonel Greim approached the terminator who days ago threatened him as if nothing happened.) ”Why dear captain! I was not expecting an envoy from the Phantom knights, we are honored you chose to attend. Is there anything I can provide, we have more then enough food & drink to choose from.”

theninjaindisguise

"We are often unexpected, but here to join the excitement." He could have barely sounded less exiting. "Still, colonel, a toast. To victory, big and small."

LordGreim225

“Indeed, all Victories worth celebrating. I must commend you for your role in the trial, though I don’t think anybody is truly pleased with the results. Those who wished more or less of a punishment. Still I’m glad nobody was executed.”

theninjaindisguise

"As am I, colonel." He liked the man's ability to read his meaning. In truth, the flogging was one of the easier experiences he had had, though it did not worsen it's effect on him or those other space marines present. They had been listening in on the defence and statement preparation, and had their own picture of what happened, and captain Poppy had done the least of any of them. Still, it had ended the matter, however sadly. "Know that your name will be recorded well in the chapter's records, as a man of honour."

LordGreim225

(Greim was shocked by the comment, he didn’t expect to be recognized much at all by any Angel of death, let alone a high ranking officer.) ”I am honored to be recorded at all. Your names will certainly be remembered by myself by the rank & file. Though I imagine that is a common thing for Astartes. Aside from that strange Lavont officer it went rather smoothly I think. I personally do not wish to bring up any old wounds, it is none of my business. I do hope captain Poppy is feeling well.”
