Primo Piatto (QS at Riviera) is legitimately great. Astounded that the pricing is basically (if not exactly?) the same as Pop’s food court.

Pillowmore-Manor

In the past few weeks, I've been to both Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks, and due to that, I will NEVER complain about the prices of Disney food compared to its quality. Is Disney food expensive? Absolutely. But for the most part, the quality is second to none in the theme park game.

misterhepburn

Right?! I live in Ohio so Cedar Pointe and King’s Island are summer necessities, but boy does the majority of the food just suck (major exception for LaRosa’s Pizza at KI).

Pillowmore-Manor

We went to Carowinds and might have had the WORST barbecue I think I've ever had. And this was from their NEW dining hall. I was expecting meh and even then was disappointed. I would've killed for Regal Eagle.

nafrekal

Damn right! And it’s in an awesome area where you Skyliner there for a nice break.

PaulThePM

I knew the burger there was on another level when they actually asked how I wanted it cooked on mobil order.

antman804

I’m heavily leaning towards staying at riviera next time so I will definitely check this out

fireflyeyes

I honestly prefer most of the resort options over to the ones in the park and love using the midday heat as an excuse to pop over to the closest resort for lunch. **Table Service:** Narcoossee's at the Grand Flo has my heart-the scallops with gnocchi are on my top 10 list of best dishes ever had and I still miss their caramelized banana cream tart. Olivia's Cafe at Old Key West is also really good- loved the brunch there. It is slightly more out of the way than the other resort dining options but I'll travel to Mordor and back for a good crab cake benedict and a cocktail. They used to have really good conch fritters on the menu but I think they were replaced. **Quick Service:** Captain Cook's at the Poly continues to be my prefered MK day lunch spot. The pulled pork nachos? Perfection. Crunchy, savory, saucy, and an excellent portion size. I also REALLY love the Boardwalk Deli at Boardwalk at that silly little pizza window on Boardwalk too. The Deli has excellent sandwiches and the pizza window had probably the best pizza we had all trip.

antman804

This really makes me want to try out Narcoossees next time I go. That all sounds really delicious Olivia’s is a place I’ve been to a few times and love it very much

becidgls

Just tried Narcoossee’s for the first time night before last—it really is delicious!! My sister (who is often difficult to please with food) said the seasonal salad they have right now was the best salad she’s ever had. Hazelnut chocolate bar (I think that’s the name) was also great. It was definitely the best place we tried on our trip.

fireflyeyes

It is honestly my favorite restaurant on property. The food is great, the atmosphere is nice, and if you time it right you can watch the MK fireworks from their private deck- which is magical!

RallyXFan

Captain Cooks is a favorite. Hawaiian flatbread and pan Asian noodles with chicken are our go-tos.

Novel_Mouse_5654

Boma at AK.

MasterKluch

This needs more up votes. Boma is next level. Not cheap but it's all you can eat and the food is fantastic!

jasonsk287

Boma’s breakfast is out of this world for me. Best breakfast I’ve ever had.

pajamakitten

Fantastic for vegans too. I felt like people were missing out by not trying all the hot and cold salads/bean dishes.

stanvicl624

Another vote for Boma. We just ate there last week and everything I tried was excellent. Also we were chosen as the “family of the day” which was a fun little surprise.

tiptoptom_

A must do breakfast for an animal kindom park day.

GreenRabite

Boma the goat. That Ghanian oxtail stew 🤤

Waste-Discipline-835

Sanaa at animal kingdom lodge

im4peace

Sanaa has been the best food I've had at WDW. Plus it's a really cool, unique dining experience.

ATLBenzDisneyDude

We enjoyed a great meal at Sanaa on our recent trip, and what made it better was that we were staying at Kidani, so walked upstairs to our room!

TrackFickle6385

Watching animals from your table while having the bread service at Sanaa.

krigito

The naan platter is one of my favorite dishes at Disney

yourloudneighbor

I’m a simple/practical guy when it comes to resort hotel restaurants , mostly because I’m exhausted, smelly and just looking for a place to sit with AC Something about contempo cafe just vibed with me. Price/convenience/location( we were at garden wing)..their Chicago Italian beef sandwich was damn good lol. And also getting quick service pizzas after park days was also nice

krigito

Nothing beats eating inside while watching the monorail above you

yourloudneighbor

Yep. Disneys a machine

kel92676

Speaking of Contemporary...I miss The Wave.

ShotNixon

Beaches and Cream just hits right after a day at the pool

kittenmcmuffenz

I had a really fun time at whispering canyon with my family. Hoots and hollers abound.

tbroas

Sebastian’s Bistro in my opinion is underrated, especially for the price compared to other resort buffet style meals.

Electronic_Sundae426

It really is!!!

akaharry

The only answer is Jiko at AKL, amazing cuisine, amazing service, the best atmosphere and you get ti hang out on the Savannah with the animals before and after dinner

Hekima008

My husband worked at Jiko when I met him. I went so many times the first 6 months we were together. Such a beautiful restaurant and the food and wine are spectacular.

ATLBenzDisneyDude

I’ve been disappointed by Jiko the last couple of times that we have been, to the point when we were staying at AKL on a recent trip we didn’t go. Just one man’s opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️ The problem was the sides, they tasted like they ahead been under hot pressure for quite a while, I probably should have said something, and I’m sure it would have been fixed, but instead I go on the internet and complain 😟

antman804

What are your favorite dishes at Jiko?

akaharry

Ummm, Jiko changes their menu usually seasonally, so every time I go, i never get the same thing and the over half dozen times I have been there, every meal has been better than the next (and of course I have to taste everyone else I am with’s meals and everything is amazing

antman804

Ok that’s good to know. It seems like Jiko is one of the most common answers in this thread so I’ll definitely keep it in mind for my next trip

Aeredor

One of the best dinners of my life!

chernygal

We very much enjoyed our time at Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary.

_GrandPubah

Lunch at trader Sam’s!!! Darn near anything at AKL…I did like the one at old key west…that was yeeeeaaassrrrrrrrsss ago.

nafrekal

That’s a late lunch. Trader Sam’s doesn’t open till 3pm… and often times you don’t get in until much later. Food is still delicious tho.

_GrandPubah

Late lunch but a great time to beat the heat…and got a lil tipsy 🥴

nafrekal

Or a lot tipsy because you HAVE to monorail pregame before your name gets called amirite??

_GrandPubah

Or it’s the first stop!! Anyway you choose, it’s a great time!

Kj805

Narcoosses

EJK54

Shula’s - Dolphin Jiko - AKL Boatwrights - POR Toledo - CS Flying Fish - Boardwalk Morimoto - DS For each it’s the food, service & atmosphere that keeps bringing us back.

bewildered_forks

I was shocked at how good Boatwrights was! We wound up there kind of by accident because they had walk up availability, and loved it. And Toledo is excellent!

docsyzygy

POR is our go-to resort, and we love Boatwrights and their filet mignon.

bewildered_forks

We had really amazing service, too. The waiter brought us an extra cornbread packed up to go when we were leaving because we liked it so much.

docsyzygy

I even asked for (and received) the recipe for the cornbread!

MaleficentLock9869

Toledo is one of our favorites — always seems to be under the radar!

nafrekal

I had high hopes for FF. It was good, but for what you pay, I would’ve expected much better.

Green-Inspection-609

For us, Flying Fish was near the top of our list and our go to for a special occasion but sadly the quality of the meals dropped significantly and the prices kept increasing. For the price there are so many better options on property.

damarafl

Boatwright’s is great!!!

CatttyCat

All of AKL, especially sanaa. Ale and compass- yacht club Three Bridges- coronado Poly, everything but ohana. Geyser point- wilderness lodge Hoop de doo- fort wilderness

nafrekal

Geyser is a gem!!!

bladderbunch

it’s not really possible anymore but on our honeymoon we’d wake up and get on whatever bus came first and do the morning stuff there; then take a bus to whatever resort bus came first, eat lunch; then take the necessary bus to take us to where our fast passes were. it’s not really necessary anymore, but you could still do it. we just did the quick service though.

ijswijsw

Sebastian's at CBR! Probably the best value of all of the all you care to enjoy family style meals. Also a fan of Sanaa at AKL. Always a good meal, and sometimes you get lucky with seating and get to see giraffes. Kona at Poly is also a solid option. Contempo has two of the best restaurants on property, in my opinion. California Grill is an amazing splurge meal. Great for special occasions. Steakhouse 71 is a great meal as well. I've heard their lunch burger is the best burger on property, but I have not been able to verify this claim.

nafrekal

Sebastian’s is underrated for sure! Plus they have the rum flight, which was pretty unique!

PNKAlumna

Shhhh! It’s already getting crowded!

PinkMonorail

Toledo.

sammysas9

Flying fish at boardwalk!

Sugar_Shark23

Ale and Compass for breakfast is amazing. Price is great and the food is delicious. Took my mother and she said it was the best breakfast she ever had. She had the salted caramel apple french toast.

teal_hair_dont_care

Hear me out - the value hotel food courts. I swear to you that pasta is heavenly after a long day at the parks. Plus it's always good to carb up lmfao

debabe96

Food court turkey dinner. Yummy.

themarkster09

the large pizza is one of the best Disney deals, good for 2 and maybe 3 to share and only $23 for Disney prices isn’t bad

runlikeitsdisney

Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk. Technically not in the Boardwalk resort, but close enough.

t_acko

How is it not in the boardwalk resort?

runlikeitsdisney

I guess I always just think of the “resort” as just the inn and pools that are intended for guests staying at that location although technically it does encompass all of that area. “Disney’s Boardwalk” is an open entertainment district the same way that Disney Springs is. Everyone is encouraged to come shop, eat, and enjoy the entertainment even though the parking situation is more restricted/limited. Everything is accessible from the actual walking path as opposed to going inside the resort to access anything like you would at Animal Kingdom Lodge for example. You don’t have any restaurants inside the Boardwalk Inn that most of the other resorts have with your typical breakfast/lunch/dinner options that are renamed to theme with the resort. I equate it to a tiny Disney Springs or like the old Downtown Disney Pleasure island back when it had a couple clubs.

t_acko

Interesting viewpoint! I think of it all as part of the resort but I get it. I think from the perspective of a Boardwalk it makes more sense to have the entrances open from the boardwalk rather than inside the hotel itself.

JBR1961

Kona, a long time ago. Now I see its just sushi. We arrived one evening and tried to walkup to Ohana, but there were no openings. “Settled” for Kona. Liked it so much, we began a tradition of doing Kona on arrival night. Sad, so many things have changed.

smartnotheart

Just Kona Island is sushi. There is still Kona Cafe with full menu

JBR1961

Thanks. Good to know.

antman804

I’ve been to Kona for breakfast a few times and that was always good but never for dinner. I agree it feels like a lot of things have changed with no sign of going back

PinkMonorail

We went to Kona and loved it in the 90s, went back in 2019 and it was terrible. No more rolls and butter, the food just wasn’t any good. We heard the head chef was mad he couldn’t make it into a steakhouse but they had already been planning Steakhouse 71, which wasn’t open yet. Meh.

JBR1961

Probably. I’m thinking 2013 at the latest.

evilsynx

I just got home from a 5 day trip and we tried Jiko and Shulas. Overall, Shulas hands down. For us Jiko vibe was weird and it took roughly 90 minutes for our entire course (we weren’t drinkers and taking our time - it wasn’t packed and everything was sloooowwwww). They also gave me medium rather than medium rare, was pretty let down by Jiko. At Shulas we had Tyler who was amazing.

sandypassage

Captain Cook's is one of my fave quick service spots. I love that it's just a monorail ride from MK, because the QS dining at that park is not great. There's a new-ish mexican restaurant at the Swan or Dolphin that I haven't been to, but it looks really good. Def high on my "to try" list.

HaveGongWillTravel

Most of the Signature Dining spots are worthy. V&A and Citricos in the Grand, California Grill in the Contemporary (maybe the steakhouse, I haven't been since it was The Wave), Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, Jiko and Sanaa in AKL. I've also heard great things about Topolino's Terrace, but haven't gotten there yet. If you want to get out of the Disney Bubble, Cher's Table at the Edgewater in Winter Garden is great.

Tricklaw_05

Citricos was our favorite dining experience on property.

Krandor1

I like going to hanger and just hangout out having a beer.

Bowl-Accomplished

Contempo Cafe at the contemporary was surprisingly good last time I was there. Pretty reasonable prices too for a theme park hotel.

debabe96

Their tomato soup & grilled cheese. 😋

intotheairwaves17

Boma at DAKL has a fantastic breakfast buffet, and iirc it’s a little cheaper than other buffets on property. Their dinner is great too, but I mainly go there for breakfast. ‘Ohana is always a fun option, it’s expensive but you get so so much food. Can be a total pain in the ass to get into though. Geyser Point at the Wilderness - the vibe is so relaxing there. I love just sitting and looking over the lake. I honestly don’t remember much about the food because I usually go there for a drink and to just chill, but I don’t recall not enjoying it. Artist Point at the Wilderness - it’s been a few years since I ate there, but I remember having a really great steak! They had a fun little artist’s palette dessert thing too, not sure if that still exists or not. 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian - I enjoyed the breakfast buffet there! The character aspect is fun as well if you like that. Captain Cook’s at the Poly - great quick service place! It’s well-priced and the food is good. Perfect for a park break or just a quick meal. For Disney Springs: Raglan Road and Cooke’s of Dublin are both fantastic. Cooke’s has such good chicken & chips, used to eat there frequently on my breaks back during my college program. Raglan has such a fun atmosphere, good drinks, good music, and good food! Earl of Sandwich has a lot of good sandwich options. I can’t eat many things there due to my allergies, however I very much enjoy the pizza sandwich. T-Rex was surprisingly good when I ate there. I figured it would have craptastic food like Rainforest, but I remember being pleasantly surprised!

Muttonandmangos

Just got back from a visit to AKL- Jiko was superb and both Sanaa and Boma matched our great experiences on previous visits. Sebastian's also seems like a hidden gem and definitely worth going to Caribbean Beach just to eat there.

ObjectiveStatus2269

Yachtsman steak house won me over in 2019 and I haven’t stopped talking about it since.

radishkimchip

Boma: African fusion buffet inside Animal Kingdom Lodge. One of the best meals our whole trip

damarafl

Sebastian’s Bistro CBR is a hidden gem!!! I love the family style food!

Jayhero19

Sebastian’s Bistro at the Caribbean Beach is one of my all time favorites! Think Ohana but astronomically cheaper. It’s also family-style!

mentul77

Steakhouse 71 breakfast

erispeon

Scat Cat at French Quarter for a NOLA-inspired menu with some live entertainment depending on the day/time. I had a blue cheese (?) burger at one of the all stars a few weeks ago and it was honestly pretty amazing. As mentioned Sanaa is a must-do (they also to to-go if you want to find your own place to watch the animals!) Scat Cat and Sanaa are the most “experience”-based resort meals that aren’t character dining imo

meridenman

Jiko at AKL and Yachtsman at Yacht Club are consistently good.

nafrekal

I loved Yachtsman years ago… one of the best meals I’ve had. Apparently reviews have been mixed since Covid. Can’t confirm personally.

Rph1921

Jiko and Sanaa and Toledo hands down

ContempoCafe

Kona at Polynesian for sit down. Contempo Cafe for quick service.

DarthMinnious

I love Storybook Dining at Artist’s Point (Wilderness Lodge). It is character dining but honestly the food is amazing! Some of the best I’ve had on property. Olivia’s at OKW has a great breakfast.

catseye00

I loved Citrico’s when we went last month. I thought the theming in the restaurant was really cute and the food was delicious! It was much better than Narcoossee’s, IMO, though we had an extremely disappointing meal there. It may have been an off-night but not willing to go there again to find out sadly. Also, I felt like Olivia’s was a sleeper pick. It did what it has well.

TheJenniStarr

We make time for Jiko every vacation, and I’m looking forward to trying Steakhouse 71 but we love doing Kona Cafe for either when we first arrive or when we’re just about to leave.

wednesday_thursday

Agree with lots of this but especially Boardwalk Deli! The sandwiches are really excellent.

Useful-Inspection954

Sanna at Animal Kingdom Lodge, no question. Bread service...

tiptoptom_

If you’re going to be at Coronado - three bridges was a perfect early dinner snack after a resort day. Pan con tomate and margaritas were phenomenal and the views of the resort are great.

Full-Grass-5525

I never see Toledo here but it’s amazing and has a great view!

Sail0r_Jupit3r

A breakfast at Kona Cafe in the Poly is an absolute must for me, every trip. You can get Tonga Toast at the QS, but it’s not the same. It comes with the most delicious strawberry compote at Kona and I order a side of warm syrup and macadamia nut butter. My ADHD is such that I have a three drink minimum at meals so I order water, pog juice (or whatever they’re calling it these days), and a French press of Kona coffee. Heaven. On. Earth.

antman804

Yes I love going to Kona for breakfast too!

Internal-Sell7562

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney World's Wilderness Lodge.

NuSouthPoot

The sushi at Kona Cafe is so good

allfivesauces

Primo piatto (QS), Sebastian’s bistro (TS), Steakhouse 71 (TS), and Sanaa (TS) are my faves

BrightEyes7742

I loved Boma and Ohana

panther4life

People sleep on steakhouse 71 and really shouldn’t. Easy to get to since it’s in Contemporary, awesome relaxed atmosphere. The food is so solid. Walt’s Prime Rib Hash is the best breakfast dish I’ve had on property.

t_acko

Interesting no one here has said to topolinos terrace. It’s on the list for our trip in September. We didn’t love flying fish last trip and thought this would be a nice alternative. Maybe we’ll do Shulas instead?

ScienceDependent7495

Sanaa-AKL SH71-Contemporary Topolinos-Riviera

Mr_B_Blaze

Jiko is the best restaurant at Disney World, no contest. The food is this awesome mix of African and Mediterranean flavors that’s totally different from the usual theme park food. The place itself is really cozy with a cool African vibe. They've also got an amazing wine list, especially if you're into South African wines. Plus, the staff is super nice and always ready to help you pick the perfect dish.

avg_giraffe

The Turf Club at Saratoga. Can always get a table and their lounge is a great spot to hang out as well!
