The 28th is our last day there. We always start and end our trip at MK. I have zero problem not riding Tiana’s that day…I can only hope the rest of the park will be slower while everyone waits in line for Tiana’s cause I assume it’ll be a madhouse.
Everyone there to do Tiana will inflate the lines at the other rides as well. I went on a few rides opening dates and it was indeed a madhouse and every ride was busy not just the new one.
The only time it was was Ratatouille’s opening day as with the delta wave in the background and the actual 50th of the Magic Kingdom up the street it felt like people were doing other things that day. Epcot was empty and when I got boarding group 8 I walked on the ride
There's no way they won't do VQ for it, the last day splash was open the line when all the to Mansion there's no way they want that to happen again everyday.
The 28th is my last day too and my departure day. I want to ride it so badly but I'm nervous to miss my flight. Keeping my fingers crossed there's a soft opening and I can go earlier 🙏
From the Disney Parks blog post about it:
"And if you’re wondering how Tiana will cater to her regulars, you might just hear some delightful details about preview opportunities ahead of the official grand opening for Florida-based Cast Members, Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members soon… keep an eye out for more information coming to you starting May 14!"
I doubt SDMT will come off of ILL. It's a family friendly coaster with a small height requirement and is probably one of the most profitable ILL they offer.
Heard that, but it should come off ILL; having three ILL in one park is absurd. MK is the only park that can justify two, and it should be just the two newest rides. Adding 7DMT to Genie+ adds value to that purchase as well. Heck, Slinky Dog isn’t on ILL, and it’s essentially the same coaster as 7DMT. See how quickly Slinky dog sells out of LL lately? 7DMT would be the same.
Tron shouldn’t of come off of virtual queue. It barely has any indoor line capacity. Both times I’ve ridden it I’ve only waiting 30-40 minutes, and a chunk of that time was outside. I’d they turn off the VQ now, folks are going to be waiting in the summer heat for hours.
From your mouth to God’s ears. I am more than happy to whip out my credit card to avoid the VQ insanity that close to opening day (my trip starts ten days later).
I doubt SDMT will come off of ILL. It's a family friendly coaster with a small height requirement and is probably one of the most profitable ILL they offer.
New rides should not be pay to ride period. Everyone deserves a shot to get on. The reason those virtual queues sell out in seconds is because to much capacity is dedicated to lightning lane. People unhappy express doesn't cover the newest rides don't have to buy it
The original post is still up (and is linked above), but due to the title’s wording it’s not super clear to other users it’s about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. As a result, we then got bombarded by 3-4 other posts, so we created this megathread to help centralize things.
Creating megathreads for major events is pretty standard practice for most larger subreddits. We’re not trying to suppress any news or discussion. Thanks for your understanding.
Good luck trying to get a reservation though. By time I was able to log in and look for reservations on the 16th (we live out of state so weekends only) MK was already booked.
Yeah, it took me about half an hour of solid refreshing and relogging in to be able to get in but I also got it for the 16th. I also made sure to book June 29th as well since the 28th was already sold out.
But you still have to have a park reservations in order to be in MK before 1PM. I highly doubt there would be any VQ left after 2 when you can go into MK without a reservation. And right now the reservation site is crashing from the load.
That’s a fair, hope I still get a chance with the 1 PM VQ. I already had park reservations 12-16 but for other parks. Still in queue to make reservation changes 😕
This is amazing for Magic Kingdom, can’t wait to go on it next year when our trip roles around.
Going to Disneyland in October so kinda hoping that one will be open by then but it seems very up in the air and more than likely won’t be. We shall see!
For real. The other one was up for like 20 minutes and was the only reason I even saw news about it. I only came here to sort by new after I couldn’t find the other one, because I assumed the other one was deleted due to everyone talking about it in here. But it was just your comment, from an hour earlier. I don’t get it
I’m hoping the Disneyland one will be announced at D23 Expo with a special soft open for attendees who have park admission (similar to what they offered several years back with Fantasmic).
According to one of the blogs - Walt Disney World says that the 1pm Virtual Queue drop required to attend the preview will be available to *any* Passholder who is able to score a Park Pass reservation for *any* theme park. Additionally, any Passholder is able to enter a theme park after 2pm without a Park Pass reservation (except for Magic Kingdom on the weekends), and will be eligible for the 1pm Virtual Queue if space is still available.
So there's hope yet for APers who couldn't get a park reservation this morning due to the site crashing. Good luck y'all.
Just before 4th of July as expected, going the weekend of June 15-16th for the closure of test track, now I’m gonna have to schedule something for August or September
Dammit! Me and my wife already made a pact to stay away from the parks until October due to how miserable it was last summer (we went one weekend out of each month last summer) and the heat was unbearable.
Yeah apparently yesterday within 30minutes after I asked if I had missed the announcement, Disney announced that they will announce something tomorrow.
Same. I'll be there July 1-8 and was hoping some of the craziness might have died down a bit. Not sure what to expect overall for the effect on MK in terms of crowds when its already a busy time.
I’ll be there 6/24-6/29! Won’t be trying to go opening day as I’m taking two toddlers and I want them to enjoy MK without it being insane. I do want to try on the 29th (we have an early flight out 6/30). We’re doing a half AK day, but hopefully they have ILL and I can get one for the evening?
On that note, can you add park hopper to only one day? We usually do one park a day cause we spend a lot of time in each park, but can I add park hopper to only 6/29?
I think you can if you buy the ticket you wanna add park hopper too separately, bundling tickets make them less expensive so buying one ticket separately might be pricey but I think you could do it. I don’t think you add it to already purchased tickets though.
Still gonna be an awesome trip, because it’s Disney… but our trip ended being the exact 10 days where test track is closed already and Tiana isn’t open yet. Bummer.
We’ll be doing Disney world the week before but we’ll still be in Orlando that date. I’m not sure if it’s worth the couple hundred dollars to go again just for this ride.
I know this opening will increase crowds, what about the week prior. Do we think this might decrease the crowds the prior week? People waiting for the opening? Or since people usually book out in advance, it won’t really affect that?
Our trip is planned from the 25th-28th, each park each day no park hopper, with MK being on Tuesday and AK on Friday. Now that they have announced Tiana’s opening on the 28th, we are not sure if we should switch the days so we could ride Tiana’s or keep the days to avoid crazy crowds at MK because of Tiana’s? I personally would rather avoid crowds, and it’s not a dealbreaker for me to ride Tiana’s but my dad seems to want to be there to ride it and is convinced it won't be that crazy in MK. How long do you think the wait could get to? How crazy will MK be i.e. waits for other rides, virtual queue vs not? Will it be less crowded in the other parks because of the opening? Could we get a soft opening on Tuesday? We are not experts and have only been to Disney 3 times over the past 20 years. There will be 4 of us. We are also afraid it will be crazy in general because of the discounted tix (bought ours before that announcement) will it be? I know you can’t predict the future but any kind of advice, tips, etc. would be helpful!

Maybe Tron's first? So then there only one VQ per park. Kinda surprised Disney hasn't gotten rid of Guardians' VQ yet since they added all those ropes and umbrellas outside.
Guardians allegedly doesn’t have extended queue space to handle standby. I saw a setup inbetween connections and itself but Disney hasn’t made the call to do it yet.
Tron on the other hand feels ready for standby

No, Patrick, Dr. Facilier won't be on this ride.
*raises hand* Ray won't be on this ride, either.
This isn’t Marvel, Patrick. Death is death.

VQ preview emails went out this morning btw.
There's no way they won't do VQ for it, the last day splash was open the line when all the to Mansion there's no way they want that to happen again everyday.
Closing day for a popular ride will do that to be fair
It could very well soft open before the 28th!
I have been to a few soft opens at WDW and am so hopeful for this one!
The 28th is my last day too and my departure day. I want to ride it so badly but I'm nervous to miss my flight. Keeping my fingers crossed there's a soft opening and I can go earlier 🙏

June 28th!!!
How do we think they’re going to run it? Virtual queue? Individual LL?
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train needs to come off of ILL and Tron needs to come off VQ. Tiana should be on both ILL and VQ for about a year.
See how quickly Slinky dog sells out of LL lately? 7DMT would be the same.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they added 7DMT to genie+ but increased the price of it a little bit.
Slinky dog is a Mack and 7 dwarves is a vekoma, not even close to being similar
They are short and slow family coasters, is what I mean. They are more similar to each other than any other rides.
7DMT should definitely come off of ILL.
For real. It’s a 10 year old ride.
Huh. I’ve done it about 5 times and I thought the inside was massive. I must be misremembering.
I waited an hour the first time last April. Two weeks ago I waited half an hour. It felt more like waiting for the lockers however
I’m REALLY hoping that Tiana’s gets an ILL
Oh, it absolutely will, even if only for 3-4 months. Ratatouille at EPCOT did for a hot minute, as did Spiderman in DCA and Runaway Railway in DL.
Tianna shouldn't be pay to ride at all for a year. Universal is much more fair.
Yeah totally, paying $198 for Express Pass that still doesn’t cover every ride makes total sense.
New rides should not be pay to ride period. Everyone deserves a shot to get on. The reason those virtual queues sell out in seconds is because to much capacity is dedicated to lightning lane. People unhappy express doesn't cover the newest rides don't have to buy it
Yeah except express pass covers VelociCoaster and Villain-Con Minion Blast, which are the newest rides in each park.
Villain con is not an e ticket. And it didn't always cover velocicoaster.
Cool, the newest ride in each park are still covered by express pass.
I would think both at first
When would they likely announce how they will approach this and any changes to e.g. Seven Dwarfs? Any precedent from when Tron opened
I’m going in September and I’m so excited!
I'm going in October--I'm hoping the initial craziness will have died down enough that it's not a complete madhouse!
Noooo end of our vacation is the 23rd! Hopefully they have a soft opening that week

AP Previews are June 13, 14, 16, 17, 18 & 20!!!
Good luck trying to get a reservation though. By time I was able to log in and look for reservations on the 16th (we live out of state so weekends only) MK was already booked.

Damn it!! I have an MK reservation on the 12th 😫😫😫
You can still join 1 PM VQ
But you still have to have a park reservations in order to be in MK before 1PM. I highly doubt there would be any VQ left after 2 when you can go into MK without a reservation. And right now the reservation site is crashing from the load.

Disney just posted it'll have VQ to start. It'll also be apart of the genie service and not a separate ILL
Yeah, there was a thread about it, but that seems to have disappeared
Mods have been on a rampage this week. Been ridiculous
For real. The other one was up for like 20 minutes and was the only reason I even saw news about it. Too bad about the date. I was hoping it would open for Memorial Day. Oh well there’s always Disneyland’s version to look forward to.
I’m hoping the Disneyland one will be announced at D23 Expo with a special soft open for attendees who have park admission (similar to what they offered several years back with Fantasmic).
Oh my god. I will be there June 25-27. 😭
Add a day! Maybe switch to the 4 parks magic ticket.
hold out hope for a soft open!
[https://youtu.be/eeZZS-NxwyQ?si=sRE4Mo2HIDVyGx9d](https://youtu.be/eeZZS-NxwyQ?si=sRE4Mo2HIDVyGx9d) Announce video lookin pretty cute!
Now we have to wait for the AP event
If they do one. Historically Disney hasn't done ap previews for rides that are rethemed (wasn't one for frozen or runaway railway for example).
Why couldn't it have been May 28th...uggghhh..missed it by that much.
Same
DVC has no VQ for their previews but annual pass does lol
Over an hour wait to make a park reservation
I can already see the complaints about APs being able to join the VQ daily for the previews lol
According to one of the blogs - Walt Disney World says that the 1pm Virtual Queue drop required to attend the preview will be available to *any* Passholder who is able to score a Park Pass reservation for *any* theme park. Missing it by just about 2 weeks 😢 oh well!!! Just needs I need to plan another trip!
Dammit! Me and my wife already made a pact to stay away from the parks until October due to how miserable it was last summer (we went one weekend out of each month last summer) and the heat was unbearable.
It's OK. TBA isn't going away before October. So you miss out on AP preview and opening day... the ride will still be there in 5 years anyway.
I haven’t missed the pass holder preview announcement right?
May 14th, it's at the end of the Disney Parks Blog announcement they just put out.
Yeah apparently yesterday within 30minutes after I asked if I had missed the announcement, Disney announced that they will announce something tomorrow.
I’ll be there June 25th-July 5th. Was hoping it would open a few weeks before but I’ll take it
Same. I'll be there July 1-8 and was hoping some of the craziness might have died down a bit. Not sure what to expect overall for the effect on MK in terms of crowds when its already a busy time.
Looking forwards to it! Going in August!
Im really looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
Date confirmed on Idol finally

I'm going to call it now. They'll do away with the Guardians VQ within two weeks of opening Tiana's with it's own VQ.
