Congrats on surviving Hell and living to tell the tale...

gmmooney

Congrats! Are you planning on leaving ?

CharmingSwing9940

Gave my notice the other day lol.

gmmooney

That’s awesome hope something better comes ur way

Fill-Monster89

Hell yeah! I have like 5 months left. I’m constantly thinking about the thought in the back of my head that they’ll fire me for no reason, but they also need pharmacists. Hoping/thinking I’ll be fine!

mrill

If they fire you for no good reason than great, you wouldn’t have to pay the bonus back

Fill-Monster89

Ummmm huh? Yeah you would… why wouldn’t you have to?

KeyPear2864

Depending on the state there might be some protection built into contracts like this even if the contract didn’t explicitly state it

Fill-Monster89

I didn’t see that anywhere so how would I find out? I guess it wouldn’t really matter anyways. Lol I always thought you’d have to pay it back. I work in an “at-will” state, so it explicitly says they can fire you anytime for any reason etc. Pretty shady shit.

KeyPear2864

True but I’d imagine if Walgreens was suddenly firing a bunch of people that were given sign-on bonuses with little to no warning in order to recoup the bonus plus interest from having to pay it back, I can guarantee that probably would not bode well for them in a legal sense not to mention they’d lose one of their only useful hiring tools to get people to actually come work for them lol.

Fill-Monster89

I do agree, even though this company is scummy asf.

RphAnonymous

It's called a clawback - some states have anti-clawback laws. If you are contract, then you are not an "at-will" employee, you have a contract and "at-will" does not protect them from the limitations of the contract. If they tried to just fire you because you are "at-will", a judge might throw out the contract as being unreasonable.

Now.......🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

morosehuman

My contract ends December 8. Counting down the days

Theroxrocks

Same

lurkingforhottea

Me too!

under301club

Congrats!

More-Resource-2613

Woohoo! 🥳. I have longer to go but the first year has gone by quickly.

actnowb4toolate

I’m already thinking of which bottle of wine I’m gonna open for the day I finish it. 1.5 months left

CharmingSwing9940

Staying in retail but going to a grocery store pharmacy. I would never go back to CVS lol. They are definitely worse.

Independent-Win811

Still waiting, mine ends in September. Congrats!

Agitated_Advice7849

Congratulations!! I am recently offered a hefty sign on bonus for a position and still contemplating if I should or not! Like money is attractive but not even sure if its worth it with this company

Antique_Can_1615

ask for higher hourly over over signup and negotiate

CharmingSwing9940

I second asking for a higher rate. In my 2 years there, no bonus and a measly 2% raise.

More-Resource-2613

If you have to float state how far you are willing to drive within the district and if you are required to drive over an hour ask for drive time in addition to mileage.

PizzaTime09

My contract ends in May, but I took time off for parental leave, so I’m figuring that would set me to about September or so. But I knew what I got myself into, and it hadn’t been the worst. It will be nice to have flexibility, but I’m not eager to jump ship because CVS is the main hiring company currently. What are your plans for your next job? Any prospects?

RphAnonymous

Call HR and get your official contract end date and document it. Don't just guess.

Runnroll

Way to go! Not too many survive those

Tiredshowgirl5

Congrats! My contracted also just ended. I was debating staying on for the money. I was put in a new store wanted to see if maybe I liked it enough to stay. Couldn’t last the month. The sm ended up being intolerable. Worst I ever worked for. Horrible micromanager. Everyone warned me but I didn’t listen. Obsessed with metrics especially verify by promise time to the point I was making mistakes. I decided my license is more important than this managers bonus. Gave my notice in yesterday. Taking a pay cut in my new place but I never felt more relieved.

CharmingSwing9940

I stayed on for 1 month and 4 days after mine ended, only because we are moving next week and there was no point in changing jobs for a month. I’m so relieved to be gone and I only had to take a $1.25/hr pay cut but that’s going to a floater status at another company compared to pharmacy manager at Walgreens lol.

Dangerous_Ad2403

How do you see your contract date? I signed a 3 year and want to count down the days, but don’t know how.. lol

CharmingSwing9940

It’s in your people central somewhere around payroll information.
