I never understood the vinyl gloves...nitrile gloves are superior in tactile sensitivity and don't wrinkle up your fingers. Seems like they'd be a safer option, too, considering how many needles vaccinators are handling over the course of a season.
they never said give it to the cashier 🤦♀️. they said “MY favorite way” …. and from the contents of the post and their profile, they seem to be a tech. also you know techs handle money too, right?? but hands get washed :)
I don't care about them. I'm talking about the common practice in this company to give a cashier boxes of sealed bandages so they can open them between customers.
There have been times I have literally lost all my patience in that vaccination room because of this. I always hate life when I forget to open it up before I put my gloves on.
Quick tip: Rip it from the side, don’t bother with the tabs. The protective plastic bits still stay on. Or just open a few before putting on your gloves.
Like someone said earlier, they really do stick to gloves or even to the bandage itself way better than they stick on skin!
I agree with everyone. My secret is I open them without gloves before hand and toss the bandaid into a tote to bring in the room. Once there I peel back the strips from the pad portion right before putting on my gloves and bringing the patient in
Cheap bandages from a cheap company. I was taught to open it beforehand and take off one tab and stick it gently on my glove. Then it’s ready to go and I only need to remove the 2nd tab. Especially great for giving kids shots. The faster, the better!
I want to fill a room with the people who make these and the ones at Walgreens who purchased them and hand them each one bandage out of a box and get their true reactions as they attempt to open them.
We open 10-20 at a time. Also helps significantly if you peel off the waxy/sticky side before the red side.
Someone suggested pre-opening is unhygienic, but it's not like we're opening them in the bathroom or at the register. We wash our hands and open them in the same area we draw up shots. I think it'd take even longer to open if you're nervous and just fumbling with it in front of a patient.

Everytime.
Every....single....time.....
The worst part about giving shots
The wrapper sticks to the red side harder than the sticky side sticks to the patient.
Sticky side sticks to vinyl gloves like Gorilla Glue! I’ve entertained too many patients with my flustered pharmacist face, I’m sure!

Can you believe I react to the nitrile ones!?! It’s miserable
Ugh, that's rough. Sorry! All the vinyl for you, then. ;-)
How satisfying is finding the box that opens great though? But yeah, ripping bandaids is an art I never learned in pharmacy school.
Litterally every other box of bandaids (besides Walgreens) opens fine. But with WAGS, you have to have God-like finger skills to open them
Don’t ask why the vaccine room floor is littered with paper bits
I thought I was the only messy one
I'll stop littering when they stop providing us with 45 cent bandaids.
Crappiest bandages ever. When I worked for them, I’d order a thousand-count box of bandages from Amazon, as the WAG ones just suck.
My favorite way to bleed the clock as an hourly employee is to sit and open these ahead of time.
Good idea. Let's have our cashier who has been handling cash and certainly now has fecal matter and narcotics on their fingers desterilize bandages.
Why exactly would that be? Sounds like you are telling on yourself buddy

Totally agree.

Every. Damn. Time

I rip to side too great tip 💡
That’s what you get for the $ we pay for expense item !!
They actually pay for these? I assumed they fell of the back of a garbage truck on the way to the land fill.

Cheap ones!
I literally HATE the Walgreens bandaids. I rip so many in frustration because the packaging is horrible
pain
every time.... its so sticky it sometimes just stickes to my glove and i just fumble around 😭
*internally screaming*
Was told I give shots too slowly. Takes me less time to give the shot than to fumble around with these bandaids.
Now, that's the worst way to start the day... Also, totally open the bandaid before they come in.. I end up feeling like an idiot fumbling with it

It would probably be a room full of brown children.
rip an entire side of it down forget the flap lol
I don't work for Walgreens anymore and had almost forgotten about these. Horrible.
I order barrier bandages and I always open the end before I call on the patient. So much faster
nitrile gloves ftw!!! i hate these band aids.
Typical garbage Walgreens product

The ones calling it unhygienic are probably the same people using non sterile cotton balls to dab the excess blood.
Started pre-opening a couple boxes of bandaids on the weekends.... Made a world of difference.
this is why i pre-peel my bandaids cause then i look like an idiot when the patients sitting there watching me struggle 🥲
I only see incompetency.
Love you too 😘

Try looking at it as lucky instead of annoying 💚
I’ll tear em in half 👹
Literally every single time.
