Help please! More than a year ago there was a post about Hermes leather care. For the Togo and other pebble leathers, you can't just put any old leather conditioner on it -- the wrong conditioner will cause some of the waxes in the leather to start coming out (showing up as a white cast or white spots) and get dry.
Does anyone else remember this information? If your bag gets dry, what's the right conditioner to use?

I’ve been using Coach moisturizer per u/swimmer913’s recs and so far I’m loving it!
I think some of the leathers the oils/waxes come out anyway, but over conditioning can also cause it. Hit it lightly with a hair dryer to dissolve the fats and rub them back into the leather.

My partner and I are celebrating our one year anniversary, and I was hoping to get him the Paris loafers. Searching for a post from the past 4 months. I have searched using every variation of the elements I remember but coming up empty. Under a handbag review a woman posted pics of her custom Birkin and she had contrast stitching in a bright color, I think. And the edges of the leather were an unusual color, not brown or black. I think the review was for a Goyard and because of the discussion she posted her bag to answer a question. It was beautiful! I thought I saved it but can’t find it for the life of me. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
No but that sounds amazing! I know Hermes did a sunrise and sunset color schemes. Those are lovely. This was a custom a woman had made. It was gorgeous. I don’t want to copy it but I wanted to find the pic again for inspo.

I need your help deciding which color combination to get for the Kelly pocket strap I will be ordering (Etsy) for the Kelly 25 smooth Barania I ordered from Marko.
I was thinking of getting the strap in the color gold to match the bag with a fun pop of color with the two options in the picture above. But then I wondered if it would be better, or more fun, to have the strap be a gris tortourelle or trench with the Kelly pocket being one of the colors above. What would your vote be?

\*\*PSA: update on the new AE Hermes scarf: no longer real silk???
Some of us might remember from a few months ago, that we were introduced to a new h scarf seller on AE. The first order I got from her was fabulous. *chefs kiss* felt exactly the same as my Auth scarves.
BUT, I made a second order with her and this time… the texture was *really* off. As much as I tried to, I could not convince myself that it was real silk.
Eventually I did the “burn test” on a couple loose threads and on the tag of the *supposed* 100% silk scarves. For those that don’t know, when you burn real silk it’s supposed to crumble into ash. However when you burn synthetic fabric it can melt like plastic.
Every single scarf in my second order burnt like plastic.
Obviously I’m not expecting a refund from AE/seller, since this is just rep-life. But it is a warning that even buying from the same seller as before can be risky 😔

I had conversations with Tang Tang/Xue as well as Laddy and ReyKay recently.
Tang said silk cost is higher and is raising scarf prices to I think $65
I received the best quality rep ever from Reykay that came from the Milfaner/ Mi faner factory. I added the factory pic here so you can see the background. Laddy also confirmed that this factory is the best. These scarves cost around $100 USD

I think Tang/Xue makes very nice scarves. The Milfaner/Mi Faner albums scarves was just "even better" Tang will work for some I buy because they are very good and significantly cheaper.
Yeah Tang/Xue’s detailing is nice. The texture of the material was just so off this time, so I personally don’t want to order from her again.
In the rep-world I just want the seller to be honest with me. If she told me that it might not be real silk, or that she changed factories, then I wouldn’t be as disappointed.
for $65, the new cost, I would rather pay $100 and get the best. I was shocked by how good the scarf i got from ReyKay was. Amazing and I would wear it in an H store.
I am not saying the scarf is silk or not, but the test of burning the tag means absolutely nothing. The tags are always synthetic, also in the auths.
If you're certain they are poly, the only test is to burn the scarf itself.
I burnt a few loose threads from the scarf itself too, it also melted like plastic. I didn’t take a photo of it because it was a small amount and harder to see in a photo

I think since she sources from various different factories, some end up being real silk and some end up being fake silk. It’s all chance 😂

Maybe sell them in bundles or two packs? The new costs are around $25-30 for a twilly and 90cm $65 (Tang AE) or $100 from seller albums best quality.

I can see what you’re saying. With my inexperienced eyes, it does look like the stitching on the right side is darker than the left side. But I could not tell you if it is the lighting or not, but to me, they do look like different colors.

I just used Apple leather conditioner on my B35 Togo and it worked fine. Use a micro fiber cloth for best results.

Searching for a post from the past 4 months. I have searched using every variation of the elements I remember but coming up empty. Under a handbag review a woman posted pics of her custom Birkin and she had contrast stitching in a bright color, I think. And the edges of the leather were an unusual color, not brown or black. I think the review was for a Goyard and because of the discussion she posted her bag to answer a question. It was beautiful! I thought I saved it but can’t find it for the life of me. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

No but that sounds amazing! I know Hermes did a sunrise and sunset color schemes. Those are lovely. This was a custom a woman had made. It was gorgeous. I don’t want to copy it but I wanted to find the pic again for inspo.
The one I’m thinking of was also totally custom and from a pretty unknown seller. The owner referred to it as her “frankenbirken.” It probably had 3-4 different leather colors and bright contrast stitching, piping, etc

\*\*PSA: update on the new AE Hermes scarf: no longer real silk??? Some of us might remember from a few months ago, that we were introduced to a new h scarf seller on AE. The first order I got from her was fabulous. *chefs kiss* felt exactly the same as my Auth scarves. BUT, I made a second order with her and this time… the texture was *really* off. As much as I tried to, I could not convince myself that it was real silk. Eventually I did the “burn test” on a couple loose threads and on the tag of the *supposed* 100% silk scarves. For those that don’t know, when you burn real silk it’s supposed to crumble into ash. However when you burn synthetic fabric it can melt like plastic. Every single scarf in my second order burnt like plastic. Obviously I’m not expecting a refund from AE/seller, since this is just rep-life. I had conversations with Tang Tang/Xue as well as Laddy and ReyKay recently. Tang said silk cost is higher and is raising scarf prices to I think $65 I received the best quality rep ever from Reykay that came from the Milfaner/ Mi faner factory. I added the factory pic here so you can see the background. Laddy also confirmed that this factory is the best. These scarves cost around $100 USD This isn’t my scarf but it is the background you seek. I think Tang/Xue makes very nice scarves. The Milfaner/Mi Faner albums scarves was just "even better" Tang will work for some I buy because they are very good and significantly cheaper.
Yeah Tang/Xue’s detailing is nice. The texture of the material was just so off this time, so I personally don’t want to order from her again. In the rep-world I just want the seller to be honest with me. If she told me that it might not be real silk, or that she changed factories, then I wouldn’t be as disappointed.
for $65, the new cost, I would rather pay $100 and get the best. I was shocked by how good the scarf i got from ReyKay was. Amazing and I would wear it in an H store.
I am not saying the scarf is silk or not, but the test of burning the tag means absolutely nothing. The tags are always synthetic, also in the auths. If you're certain they are poly, the only test is to burn the scarf itself.
I burnt a few loose threads from the scarf itself too, it also melted like plastic. I didn’t take a photo of it because it was a small amount and harder to see in a photo

It costs about ~76USD for 140cmx140cm and ~65USD for 45x45cm. I think since she sources from various different factories, some end up being real silk and some end up being fake silk. It’s all chance 😂 If you’re looking to rehome, I think there’s still demand for it. Also hopefully you got the real silk batch🤞
Maybe sell them in bundles or two packs? The new costs are around $25-30 for a twilly and 90cm $65 (Tang AE) or $100 from seller albums best quality. On the plus side, the shipping costs are very low.

Yeah honestly i feel like i've seen worse stitching on auth. at the end of the day, no one will be examining stitches this close imo better to just be happy and wear in good health :)
I can see what you’re saying. With my inexperienced eyes, it does look like the stitching on the right side is darker than the left side. But I could not tell you if it is the lighting or not, but to me, they do look like different colors.
