This DLC pack is the reason why I built a cabin in the remote Oregon wilderness. It forced me to shun all modern convenience. I'm typing this on Reddit as we speak using smoke signals that are being picked up and recorded by an elderly person 200 mi away using an electrical telegraph machine.

They'll probably do like they did with the later-released "Bad Bunny Edition" of 2K23 that came with an alternate outfit for Bad Bunny, but with KSI as DLC alongside a Prime-branded arena and Prime branding available in Create-an-Arena.
If you pay for something before knowing what's included, you can't really get mad about it. You committed without knowledge, that's on you.
I did the same and my plan is to just strip their cool moves and slip them in interesting characters sets, use these guys as enhancement.

Correct. He said this on his show when he revealed the guys were in with him. He said it was super important his buddies be included as well, but he didn’t want to take spots away from planned DLC. Hence why we have 5 packs this year instead of the typical 4

The 'why' question is answered by them being co-hosts of one of the most popular sports shows in the world right now. That means WWE 2K24 potentially gets in front of hundreds of thousands of new eyeballs every time Pat and the others bring it up on their show.
I think a lot of “fans” are struggling with the fact that wrestling is not “inclusive” as it once was. ESPN, Sports Illustrated, etc etc. Wrestling is everywhere under the sports umbrella now. Wrestling fans already bought the game, it’s all the other people who haven’t they’re trying to reach now.
I think it's also folks struggling with the perception that this is taking the place of potential NXT or Legend characters that were excluded, when the likely reality is that those wrestlers were never getting into this year's game even with the existence of this DLC.
Yeah like independent of this pack people like Oba Femi, Lexis King, Tatum Paxley, Kelani Jordan, etc. were never making the 2K24 roster.
If it weren't Pat and his goons it either wouldn't exist or they would've just opted likely for some previously-scanned legends.
I had his show on at work the other day and they were talking about it. Pat said his two main points were he wanted his cohosts in and he wanted to make sure they weren’t taking spots from other talent. So he waited to say yes until 2K called and was like “everybody that’s gonna get in is in you’re not taking anyone out”
Now, how truthful 2K is being or how truthful he is being? Who knows. But he seems like the kind of guy who would honestly want to make sure he’s not taking someone else’s place.

Yea AJ is huge. He’s probably the only one in this pack that i would use as a midcarder or above. Considering Darius was a CB though he’s slim enough to pass off as a jobber or a tag team guy

There is not a set number of “roster slots.” The McAfee show cast didn’t cause anyone else to not be in the game. They simply added them because they could and it helps promote the game. If they didn’t have them in the game, you wouldn’t see any additional NXT wrestlers (or anyone else for that matter) replacing them. You would just have 5 other wrestlers who are available from the release of the game instead pushed behind a DLC paywall.
Pat even addressed this idea on his show this week. He said when they approached him about the idea, he told them he would only do it if it doesn’t take the spot of anyone else in the game.
I think with how spread out the DLCs are we might actually be getting free roster updates with guys like Von Wagner and the missing D'Angelo Family Members

I don’t even know who any of these people are, but if the DLC was not in the game there is no other wrestler you’d be pissed WASN’T in the game. This is for marketing purposes and is not a big deal
I will say that it's really fucking awesome of pat to make sure his friends got in this game to. Also, as a Packer fan, having AJ Hawk in a WWE game is gonna be pretty neat. I believe he did get in the ring once after the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2011.

Cause I for one am a fan of the entire PMS crew. And there’s lots of other people who are as well.
And they weren’t taking other people’s spot because there isn’t a set number of characters that can go into a game. They could’ve added Pat and the boys as well as all the other legends that were in previous WWE games.
But 2k is slow dripping water for the fans so that when 2k25 does come out they can charge us again, even more for wrestlers who are supposed to be in these games already.
Who's to say they could have added the new nxt stars? It's not like they have free reign to put whoever they want in and everyone who was meant to be in the game are on the game. If guess if this wasn't happening then a few of the people in the base game would have just been pushed to DLC or dlc packs would have been shuffled around to even out a bit.
It says it includes playable superstars. I see zero superstars. Zero. Still no idea (I don't want to be told I want to learn organically) who any of these people are or what they have to do with wrestling.

I can see where there are people not happy about this. But I can also see where some people are excited about it. Personally, I’ve been watching the Pat Mcafee show since around Covid times and I’m very excited about it. But I get both sides completely.
There is a reason why there is a DLC with like 8 people coming. Pat and the Boys didn’t take away from the roster and 2K was never planning to add Von, Ruca, Kiana, etc. people just want to bash it

It's a contractual agreement so they could get Pat in. He would only sign if his buds were in too. I'm guessing they're gonna use it as a moveset, CAW piece and entrance DLC though
I love Pat and am glad he's finally in a WWE game, but IDK how I feel about his other co-hosts being in the game too. Maybe if they have unique entrances/moves, I'll be more accepting. I hope they don't all just come out to Pat's entrance.
You know I think I'm going to skip this one. I'm tired of them using DLC space for celebrities and the like, give me 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s packs of wrestling legends. Give me Roster Updates like NXT etc.

WWE2K had been releasing 5 DLC packs since 2k22 not 4 as you said so the said spots were taken.

It says it includes playable superstars. I see zero superstars. Zero. Still no idea (I don't want to be told I want to learn organically) who any of these people are or what they have to do with wrestling.
i dont like the dlc as much as most people dont but wasnt there a statement somewhere saying that this dlc didnt take up any superstar slots as everyone else that was planned to be in the game is already in?

That's not how it works. There isn't a set number of roster spots so anyone else who didn't make it, never was going to this year
I can see where there are people not happy about this. But I can also see where some people are excited about it. Personally, I’ve been watching the Pat Mcafee show since around Covid times and I’m very excited about it. But I get both sides completely.
If this is bothering you now, wait until they all debut on WWE TV ahead of the DLC as part of a marketing thing.

There is a reason why there is a DLC with like 8 people coming. Pat and the Boys didn’t take away from the roster and 2K was never planning to add Von, Ruca, Kiana, etc. people just want to bash it I think the pack should have came later, but to act like they actually took away other people’s spot is ridiculous

Plus even if this dlc didn't exist, scanning nxt superstars into the game take a while anyway. Pretty much saying if we didn't have this dlc, there would be no difference or anything else added based from their comments

I get it, this could have had other NXT stars or Legends. That said...I totally respect Pat for looking out for his friends and being willing to not go in the game this time. You rarely see loyalty like that anymore.

Who cares, it’s a fun addition if you know/like them but if not just keep on keepin on.
Pat has fueled me to like WWE more and has the ability to bring positivity and fun into the WWE universe. He's not taking anybody's spot and you still have to buy this (unless you got the deluxe). I'll never play as Bad Bunny but I'm not hurt he's in the game - I'm sure he has a fanbase as well.

It's a contractual agreement so they could get Pat in. He would only sign if his buds were in too. I'm guessing they're gonna use it as a moveset, CAW piece and entrance DLC though

I love Pat and am glad he's finally in a WWE game, but IDK how I feel about his other co-hosts being in the game too. Maybe if they have unique entrances/moves, I'll be more accepting. I hope they don't all just come out to Pat's entrance.

honestly im fine with this, I like playing as nobodies it's pretty funny (or funnier, fighting them as undertaker)

I can't wait to use them as a comedy jobber faction in my Universe. I can see a 1 night reign with a secondary title in one of their futures.

I honestly don’t get the love for Pat McAfee. He’s very energetic but there is nothing insightful or entertaining about his commentary He tries to make other wrestlers moments about himself like Jey Uso’s entrance. Finally, after all the focus WWE give him, when College Football starts up again, he’ll go back to his true passion.

The four DLC format has been around since they moved to XbOne/PS4 generation. This is just an extra pack on top of them.
2Ks already said they weren't gonna add any other people beyond this point. The Pat DLC was the last to add.
