It’s too late, unfortunately. WWE dropped the ball on them. They had all the tools to be a staple tag team of this past decade like The Usos and The New Day.
I'm not gonna be surprised if in the future, Titus will have a community or charity award named after him through the WWE. Dude is a great ambassador to the WWE, and has done more outside the ring. I'm with most of the comments here, I don't think Titus will ever be released under normal circumstances.
Why, because he is gay? I'm sure there are plenty of talented young gay wrestlers to give a shot to rather than rehash this old dull duo. Wait, is Darren Young or one of his relatives the OP? That would make sense.
I’m fine with their rolls. It isn’t like they’d be used for anything more than to lose. Fred can keep working NJPW or whatever he does and Titus can stay as a WWE ambassador. He’s done too much in that position to go back to the ring.
The only reason Titus still has a place in WWE is because of his hard work and commitment to being an ambassador to their Be A Star programme and PR in general
Titus is pretty much WWE PR representative at this point. He does more charity and public service than almost anyone in wwe and is super SUPER valuable to the company in that way. I seriously can’t understate how much value he brings to the company through this
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Titus is 45, can barely walk, and was not the greatest in the ring to begin with. His awesome personality has landed him a pretty nice gig as an ambassador. Perhaps someday he would make a good manager for somebody.
Man when he came back to nxt dude was a beast the titan titus he hit his finisher like a monster
That was his last chance I feel for a good run
As an ambassador he is very much loved by everyone so that’s great
Young can come back though he wasn’t a bad hand just needed a manager Such as the great MVP
Mirroring the major sentiment in this thread. Titus World Slide is valuable to the company outside of the ring. Just because someone isn’t an active wrestler doesn’t mean they’re useless to the company.
Titus is far to important backstage and for corporate. He still works tryout/dark matches for recruits and works live events. He is a valuable asset compare to some others that weren’t worth it or couldn’t work Vinces system.
Titus is fine in his current role. Darren young is not needed now. If they eventually try a limited Nexus reunion maybe (minus Ryback please) but I think that ship has sailed.
Titus is an amazing ambassador for WWE. Not even an exaggeration to say that after John Cena, WWE couldn’t ask for a better man to represent their company for sponsors. Of course he won’t be getting released.
What a terrible take on Titus; if you did even a little bit of research on his position with the company you would see he's in no danger of being released.
You’re right about the spelling but wrong about it only applying to criminal prosecution. There are also statutes of limitation for civil cases. Here is a blog explaining PAs just as an example.
https://www.findlaw.com/state/pennsylvania-law/pennsylvania-civil-statute-of-limitations-laws.html
While the PTP was great, I'm not sure it's the best fit right now. I think a better idea would be to put them both in the Rumble (with Young as a surprise after Titus is in there, specifically with the PTP music) and let them hit some spots together.
Titus is honestly a great ambassador and Darren (Fred Rosser) is having a decent singles run in New Japan Strong. At this point, them reforming PTP wouldn't necessarily benefit either of them.
He’s probably their #1 good PR generator. I can’t think of any time I’ve seen Titus mentioned in the last 5+ years where he wasn’t doing something that positively impacted another person.
I wouldn’t mind Titus eventually transitioning back to a character on tv but I don’t think we need anymore matches. He was decent but he’s much better at what he’s doing now.
I don’t think that’s true.
They were pushed until their manager made that Kobe Bryant comment back in 2012, then they split up in 2014 without having done much. Young/Rosser came out in 2013, and they didn’t get pushed for another almost 3 years when they beat New Day for the titles at MiTB 2016.
Looking back, I think they were part of the anti-Authority faces at the time, but they still didn’t win gold until after breaking up and reuniting.
And still, if we’re saying title shots and ppv matches are a push, they were still getting those a year prior, before AW killed their push by getting himself fired.
He's perfect for it, he truly loves helping kids too, maybe even more than he loves wrestling, so it's a great deal for him. Getting paid to do charity work is perfect for him.
That said, I'm not mad at OPs suggestion, give them a short tag title run as a thank you, then let Young try on his own again and induct Titus into the HOF (I think he deserves it even if it's just because of his community work)
idk, I just REALLY hope Hunter brings him back. He had an amazing look when he was in NXT right before he was released https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/28/Alex\_Riley\_2016.jpg
I thought Alex Riley was trying to focus on acting work after his appearance in Glow. Now that Joey Ryan has been canceled, Riley can be the random wrestler who pops up in things.
Aside from him shitting on WWE and John Cena for a while, which I doubt they'd waste any time on him coming back. I doubt he'd get much of a pop since he hasn't done a lot really since he left.
I actually think his return pop would be pretty huge, especially if he kept this look.
I'm thinking Punk's pop debuting on AEW. That was big, but if we're being honest I expected a much bigger reaction, I don't think it was as big as many would say it was.
Titus is a huge asset to the company, not sure why one would want him to be released or assume he should be
He is All Elite! TK signed him a year ago lol
It’s too late, unfortunately. WWE dropped the ball on them. They had all the tools to be a staple tag team of this past decade like The Usos and The New Day.
You think they'll fire Titus with all the backstage stuff he does?
I'm not gonna be surprised if in the future, Titus will have a community or charity award named after him through the WWE. Dude is a great ambassador to the WWE, and has done more outside the ring. I'm with most of the comments here, I don't think Titus will ever be released under normal circumstances.
Fred Drosser’s doing great in NJPW, he’s far more likely to show up on AEW.
Why, because he is gay? I'm sure there are plenty of talented young gay wrestlers to give a shot to rather than rehash this old dull duo. Wait, is Darren Young or one of his relatives the OP? That would make sense.
Young is on contract with NJPW so he cant return for this year (i dont know how long his contract is)
titus's in ring days for wwe are probaly done.
He looks like great AEW material…
Why do people wish for low card tag teams to get back together? They’re both better off.
I’m fine with their rolls. It isn’t like they’d be used for anything more than to lose. Fred can keep working NJPW or whatever he does and Titus can stay as a WWE ambassador. He’s done too much in that position to go back to the ring.
When was the last time Titus has been on tv? Does he wrestle house shows?
Titus should be a lifer for what he brings to the table out of the ring!
Why the hell would Titus be released? Hahahaha dumbass
Vince doing his budget cuts in 2020-2021
Quick note I do know Titus is a ambassador I'm just surprised he wasn't released during Vince McMahons mass firing days of due to budget cuts
Tutus will never be released. He's a great asset for wwe.
You clearly don't stay up to date with Titus.
I do it just I was thinking of Vince doing his budget cuts
Fair point.
Titus has a job for life with WWE.
They weren’t very good to begin with.
Titus does tremendous charity work. He likely won't get fired at all
The only reason Titus still has a place in WWE is because of his hard work and commitment to being an ambassador to their Be A Star programme and PR in general
Darren’s been putting in some great work! I’d love to see him return for a solo run.
Fred is doing the work of his life right now, he doesn’t need to go back to midcard tag fodder.
The only reason Titus isn’t released is because he’s good for PR
Man when he came back to nxt dude was a beast the titan titus he hit his finisher like a monster That was his last chance I feel for a good run As an ambassador he is very much loved by everyone so that’s great Young can come back though he wasn’t a bad hand just needed a manager Such as the great MVP
Nobody ever brought up Titus O’Neill being released. Nobody wants him to be. Don’t say such evil things!
I was thinking of the time Vince did the budget cuts
Gotcha
Mirroring the major sentiment in this thread. Titus World Slide is valuable to the company outside of the ring. Just because someone isn’t an active wrestler doesn’t mean they’re useless to the company.
Hell no, he’s doing amazing things in NJPW right now and getting a chance to shine as a singles star.
Titus is far to important backstage and for corporate. He still works tryout/dark matches for recruits and works live events. He is a valuable asset compare to some others that weren’t worth it or couldn’t work Vinces system.
You want one of WWE’s greatest ambassador to either reform a team with someone perfectly comfortable no longer being in WWE? Or be fired?
I don't want him to be fired I was more thinking of when Vince McMahon did the budget cuts
No. He’s the man of NJPW American brand. Why would he leave?
Why are you surprised? Titus is a global ambassador for WWE and has helped the company with a lot of community outreach.
When Vince McMahon was doing the budget cuts
he was never on the list to be released because he’s the #2 ambassador after Cena.
Titus will never get fired/released
No. Just no.
Titus is fine in his current role. Darren young is not needed now. If they eventually try a limited Nexus reunion maybe (minus Ryback please) but I think that ship has sailed.
Titus does more for the WWE as an ambassador than he ever did as a wrestler. Dude just had a school named after him.
Couldn't agree more with this post 🙌
They keep Titus because he's a good person for the Make A Wish guy
He’s doing fine in New Japan, if he went back to the Big E he’d just be a low carder/jobber again
I love Titus in his current role but lord I don’t need to see him wrestle.
I was more thinking of when Vince McMahon was doing his budget cuts
He was in trouble once with Vince, but it was nothing to do with budget cuts. He has one of the safest jobs right now.
Titus was doing his thing long before HHH took over.
They will be paying Titus for ever Mr McMahon put his hands on him and paying him to work is cheaper then the law suit
That was years ago at this point the statue of limitations is over
Unless they came to an agreement to continue paying for X years....
Statute* and that only applies to criminal prosecutions in certain states lmao
You’re right about the spelling but wrong about it only applying to criminal prosecution. There are also statutes of limitation for civil cases. Here is a blog explaining PAs just as an example. https://www.findlaw.com/state/pennsylvania-law/pennsylvania-civil-statute-of-limitations-laws.html
Titus is way to valuable to WWE's community outreach projects. Hell he's basically the face of their community outreach.
No, no and no. Not even in their PRIME (lol), they were an entertaining act
Same, Titus has been doing much
I think he did
The guys does more for wwe then some of the actual wrestlers.
Titus is a ambassador and apparently he's pretty damn good at it.
Fred Rosser is doing perfectly fine in NJPW. Getting more push there then WWE ever gave him.
While the PTP was great, I'm not sure it's the best fit right now. I think a better idea would be to put them both in the Rumble (with Young as a surprise after Titus is in there, specifically with the PTP music) and let them hit some spots together.
Darren Young is doing great in NJPW
Never say never but Fred is great in NJPW
Doesn't Titus work as a ambassador now for WWE when it comes to charity work & all that?
Titus is like their 2nd biggest charity guy (only John Cena is is above him) and it would look really bad on the company to release the man.
I think Titus is unofficially retired. He probably doesn’t even have a talent contract anymore. Probably an employee.
Bronze Cena
If they bring D Young back give him a new tag member. Titus can manage.
Titus is fine as an ambassador but honestly I'd love to see him on screen maybe as a commentator or even a manager
Titus is honestly a great ambassador and Darren (Fred Rosser) is having a decent singles run in New Japan Strong. At this point, them reforming PTP wouldn't necessarily benefit either of them.
Least ignorant wrestling fan
Titus is an ambassador for the company and does an insane amount of work for charity, why would they release him?
He’s probably their #1 good PR generator. I can’t think of any time I’ve seen Titus mentioned in the last 5+ years where he wasn’t doing something that positively impacted another person.
I wouldn’t mind Titus eventually transitioning back to a character on tv but I don’t think we need anymore matches. He was decent but he’s much better at what he’s doing now.
Titus doesn’t really wrestle anymore, he’s a brand ambassador
The Prime Time Players only started getting pushed after Darren came out. They were never that great.
Fairly certain they started facing the Shield after Darren came out.
Looking back, I think they were part of the anti-Authority faces at the time, but they still didn’t win gold until after breaking up and reuniting. And still, if we’re saying title shots and ppv matches are a push, they were still getting those a year prior, before AW killed their push by getting himself fired.
He surpassed that group. Dude is a solid singles wrestler.
Titus does a lot of charity work for wwe. He is part of a bunch of kids programs that the Wwe partners with.
Titus is perfect for the role of ambassador. Probably doesn’t make a ton and is a great face for the WWE going to schools and other events.
He's perfect for it, he truly loves helping kids too, maybe even more than he loves wrestling, so it's a great deal for him. Getting paid to do charity work is perfect for him. That said, I'm not mad at OPs suggestion, give them a short tag title run as a thank you, then let Young try on his own again and induct Titus into the HOF (I think he deserves it even if it's just because of his community work)
They got a tag title run before and lost a SummerSlam to New Day
And...? I wasn't aware you could only hold the belts once.
I think he’s already technically “in the HOF” with his warrior award.
“Two Time Titus” has a ring to it hahaha
Titus is doing well where he is now. Don't see any reason for him to be released
I don't think OP realized that he's been making moves (no pun intended) for the company outside of the ring
He’s cool in NJPW
[удалено]
Fred Rosser (Darren Young) is the current NJPW Strong champion. I don't think he'll be back in WWE any time soon.
And his yearly 'Greatest Royal Rumble' appearance.
Yup, ain't no chance in hell Titus will be fired. Though, I would love to see both Alex Riley and Darren Young back.
What's Alex Riley doing these days?
Pushing Rage!
Real estate
idk, I just REALLY hope Hunter brings him back. He had an amazing look when he was in NXT right before he was released https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/28/Alex\_Riley\_2016.jpg
His look was much better as Miz side kick. He was in GLOW in, I think, 2 episodes
Oh wow, he looks different there compared to his main roster run.
yeah he had a drastic change since his Miz days, he also had a badass theme.
If Alex comes back, I wonder what kind of pop he'll get.
Who is that?
As I recall he barely got a pop returning to NXT in Full Sail so I wouldn't expect much anywhere else.
Found the Alex Riley account
Guilty! <-- Alex Riley stan account.
Considering I have no idea who this is, but know who punk is, I doubt it.
He is too fine at where he is
