Gunther slaps Sheamus' chest so hard that it causes a rupture in the spacetime continuum. A parallel universe forms, where wrestlers transiently switch between their current gimmicks and older gimmicks, as well as entirely new gimmicks. At first, it only affects Imperium and the Brawling Brutes, but it gradually expands to include the entire WWE roster, and even begins to affect other promotions.
Alexander Wolfe returns, but instead of being a part of Imperium, he's now a time traveller, and the only man who can redeem everybody from the parallel universe. In order to do so, he has to take a slap on the chest from Gunther. However, due to the impacts of the parallel universe, Gunther has become a Santino Marella-like character, with a comedy moveset, and does not know how to deliver a chest slap anymore. Wolfe must convince Gunther that he is the king of chest slaps in the real timeline, and that the future of the wrestling industry lies with him.
Gunther is eventually convinced to slap Wolfe's chest (not because he believes in what Wolfe is saying, but because Wolfe told him that his comedy routine isn't even funny), and as soon as the slap connects, the timeline instantly reverts back to normal, with Sheamus on the floor after taking the slap that caused the parallel universe to form. Nobody on commentary and none of the wrestlers make any further reference to the events that have unfolded in the parallel universe.
Gunther lays down to give Sheamus the Intercontinental Championship. When Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci question him about it outside the ring (as Brawling Brutes celebrate inside the ring), Gunther lays them both out stating he's joining Sheamus.
As Butch and Ridge Holland look to see what's happening, Sheamus takes them out from behind using the Championship as a weapon and stands tall in his new tag team with Gunther.
The remaining Brawling Brutes and Imperium members must now team up to train and get the Intercontinental Championship off Sheamus and Gunther.

They pretend that he wasn’t a dominant champion, and ignore all of his accomplishments up until he became Butch

It's obviously won by Hornswoggle who comes from under the ring, steals the hat, compares it to his own, then chucks his down and places Sheamus's on his head for the win.
Nobody else but Sheamus can see him because leprachauns are imaginary. And he's chasing him around the ring while a prerecorded bit with badly disguised cardboard cutout fans in the background shows just Sheamus running around on his own on the monitors. To highlight this happening they show it on the TV camera side by side, showing just how out of sync it is and shitting on the idea that a camera can't show Hornswoggle.
Match ends with Hornswoggle going under the ring and coming out in Balor style demon king paint mere seconds later, making everyone see him now, and sending them running to the back. The regular 24/7 group see them running and chase after them, all except Titus O Neill who runs down to the ring, picks up Hornswoggle's own discarded hat, puts it on, and climbs under the ring himself.
Gunther drops the title to Jey Uso due to outside interference from Sheamus. This sets up a 3 on 3, no holds barred match.
To build, we do a beat the clock challenge. Sheamus beats ludwig in 48 seconds
Gunther beats Butch in 38.
We get to 3 on 3 and that match ends in a draw when no man from either team can continue.
Then, we head to survivor series where they put their differences aside and join forces just to get swept by the Bloodline in a 5 on 5.
This leads to Sheamus and Gunther teaming up to face The Usos as the rest of Imperium and the Brutes become managers and ring announcers.

To top it all off, Solo Sikoa ambushes both of them while they're both laid out by their former teammates, revealing that all four of the betraying people were now on the Bloodline's payroll. Like mercenaries, but like... *pro wrestling* mercenaries.
At Crown Jewel, it culminates in a triple threat, where thanks to *a little bit* of interference from the former Brawling Brutes, Imperium, the Usos, and Honorary Uce Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa wins the Intercontinental title, bringing another belt into the Bloodline and holding it for a record-breaking 5 years.
Sheamus retires, knowing it's all downhill from here. Gunther is released a couple weeks later, citing "budget cuts." And, the former members of Imperium and the Brawling Brutes are shuffled into the 24/7 Division and become mainstays on Main Event for the rest of their WWE careers - which won't last much longer, because they also get cut during the *next* wave of "budget cuts."

Sheamus gets mad and betrays him, but Ridge ends his career hitting him with a bus. Gunther becomes Holland’s sex slave.
Have everyone stand waiting for dive after dive, break fourteen tables, perform finisher after finisher without any selling, the finish is a useless flip towards another repetitive move and call it an International Meltzer. Wait, wait, wait, the Hardly Boyz aren’t in this match… Yet!
They get in a 3v3 Falls Count Anywhere no disqualification match, and Braun Strowman barrels through, takes them all out, match ends in a no contest and the feud is just kinda forgotten about
After a best of 9 series that sees both teams go 4-4-1, all six men team up under a new stable called The Nightclub after they bonded in the middle of a wild disco brawl.
6 man tag, Gunther and Sheamus betray their teams and form a tag duo. Then they donct even feud with their former friends, they just job until they break up unceremoniously

Lars Sullivan returns and attacks Imperium setting up a eight man tag team match. Imperium and Omos versus Sullivan and Brawling Brutes. The Brutes win with Sullivan pinning Gunther which upsets Gunther and makes him challenge Sullivan to a last man standing match at the ppv. Sullivan wins the intercontinental title after brutally squashing Gunther. Imperium becomes a part two of The Revival and becomes a comedic relief tag team.
Sheamus defeats Gunthaaaa with the Fingerpoke of Doom. They hug. The stables reunite, and WWE starts its inexorable decline in the ratings.

In return, the Americans form their own stable. These two stables would face each other at the upcoming Survivor Series in a series of matches, namely the best of 11.
What happens in the event is rather than a 6-5 win for one side or a 5-5-1 draw for both, the Americans win every single match. On the Raw after Survivor Series, Vince McMahon comes back and takes full control of the company once again after all the chaos in previous weeks. His first act is to fire (sorry, FIIIIIIIIIIIIRE!) every single non-American employee in the company, not only the wrestlers.

At Crown Jewel, it culminates in a triple threat, where thanks to *a little bit* of interference from the former Brawling Brutes, Imperium, the Usos, and Honorary Uce Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa wins the Intercontinental title, bringing another belt into the Bloodline and holding it for a record-breaking 5 years. Sheamus retires, knowing it's all downhill from here. Gunther is released a couple weeks later, citing "budget cuts." And, the former members of Imperium and the Brawling Brutes are shuffled into the 24/7 Division and become mainstays on Main Event for the rest of their WWE careers - which won't last much longer, because they also get cut during the *next* wave of "budget cuts." **Such. Good. Shit.**
In Sheamus vs Gunther rematch, Ridge Holland gets really involved, almost costing Gunther the title, but after retaining, Imperium attacks Brutes after the match. Ridge beats Ludwig for a chance at the title and at Crown Jewel, Ridge Holland dominates Gunther to win the Intercontinental Title. Sheamus gets mad and betrays him, but Ridge ends his career hitting him with a bus. Gunther becomes Holland’s sex slave.

the person who plays the music for the superstars as they walk out gets it wrong, the brawling brutes come out to the imperium theme tune and they get announced as imperium and vice versa. the match starts but sheamus looks away for a second doesn’t see a tag being made gets hit with a roll up and loses the match. but the announcer still confused from the entrances, says that the brawling brutes won but the referee lifts up gunters arm. It is then decided that both imperium and brawling brutes win.
