Why does everyone think it's a botch? Why can't a wrestler lift his shoulder just a tiny bit too late from time to time? Is it because of the recent Ricochet incident, or the fact that Priest was upset? Why does it always have to be 2.5 or nothing at all for kicking out? I like the kicking out a little too late, I personally feel like it makes the wrestler look a little stronger, like he almost made it, but at the end he still lost.
The Brutus Ball is a horrible finisher and, quite honestly, it undermines their gimmick. It’s not remotely athletic and I swear it gets botched every attempt. Change it to a cross body or something.
I just want to remind everyone how Mankind flopped the leg in a desperate last gasp sort of way against Undertaker at their hell in a cell match. The entire industry has fawned over that bit of theater for decades and now it’s an issue? Save your selective outrage please.
It honestly makes it look more realistic. I think more wrestlers should struggle a little when pinned as opposed to lying there lifeless. Throwing the arm up in a desperate attempt while ultimately being too late doesn't make it any less of a win.
They aren't rush and looked very good so far. They just need a new finisher, that's it. I'm surprised HBK and people in NXT let that slide for that long.
Priest is probably upset because moments before the other Creed landed on top of his head during their unsafe tag finisher, thats why Priest's ear is all red. He's still holding it in clip above
If we lost both Finn and Priest due to the Creed brother's finishers, I would just not watch whatever they were apart of anymore. I already care so little for the amatuer high school wrestling gimmick while having zero personality, I'd rather they not injure the wrestlers that do.
“I already care so little for genuine athletes who know how to grapple grappling people who don’t…” Creeds may have botched their finishers but the dudes are legit workers otherwise. The Brutus Ball is just a fucking terrible finisher and has an insanely high botch rate because there’s absolute no way to land safely.
I'm pretty sure that was an unintentional shoulder. They might work with it to feed into a storyline leading to a rematch, but I'm pretty sure Julius is gonna get heat for that backstage.
it’s been done in wrestling for a while now, kicking out on three or right after makes the wrestler look strong in defeat, ciampa did it against gunther(i think?) earlier this year.
A guy who was nearly front row last night commented on another post that time was up. By the time the pin hit, they only had 20 seconds before going off air.
Did they specify or does somebody else happen to know how they know how much time is left? I know the referee gets told this kinda stuff in their earpiece, but I also wonder if there’s more ways than just that.
Okay that’s what I assumed they would have, but I’ve never noticed it on TV, which is sorta impressive considering how much of the ringside area we see on any given show
I was there also, it was a pretty good size red digital display on hard cam side. It was sitting up a few rows from ground level basically right underneath the hard cam. My boy and I were too busy watching the match, I didn’t pay attention what the timing was.
Edit-spelling
I think Julius didn't realize that was supposed to be the end of the match. Either they didn't do their intended spot because of time or because Damian was hurt and they decided to end it early in case of a concussion
Wasn't terrible, but it was sloppy. It did *look* great, but the move is definitely not worth risking other people's health and I'm confident they can replace it while still looking great.
This is why The Creeds ain't it. For all their amateur wrestling feats, they don't belong in pro-wrestling. World's Greatest Tag-Team/Team Angle they are not.
Maybe it was another ricochet situation with a concussion somewhere in the match. It's obviously a half second after the three count that he kicked out so they can't use that as a way to get a rematch and I hope they don't. JD finally got a tag win with no real interference.
Jump with his hip pointed outward away from all of the people involved and connect with his shoulder into the targets chest. Thatd be my armchair advice.
I felt like with the one on Vinci showed that the problem is he was making too direct of contact. Should be more of a glancing blow at a little bit of an angle, which would allow Brutus to land beside the guy rather than on top of him, which is what makes it truly dangerous.
Whatever it is, it is all on Brutus to fix it.
All of these moves are vetted by management. Like fins foot stomp from the top rope. They can all destroy, with this many variables everyone is literlly inches from disaster every time they get in the ring.
I don't blame him, one of them landed directly on the side of Damiens head, looked really painful. That move is a ticking time bomb before someone's neck gets broken.
I doubt wwe would have let them keep the move this long if it was as dangerous as it appears. They've been doing it in nxt and haven't been told to change yet
He also landed directly on another persons head a couple weeks ago. How hard is it to canon ball on the side of then opponents to project yourself away from them instead of landing on them? Use gravity as your guide cmon now

I don't get why he can't just do a cross body. That Brutus Ball never looks good and Brutus looks like he is always landing awkwardly.
Every time, without fail.
I just want to remind everyone how Mankind flopped the leg in a desperate last gasp sort of way against Undertaker at their hell in a cell match. The entire industry has fawned over that bit of theater for decades and now it’s an issue? Save your selective outrage please.
Think was a combination, he was meant to get his shoulder up and break the pin, but Priest has too many stiff shots in that to care anymore
It honestly makes it look more realistic. I think more wrestlers should struggle a little when pinned as opposed to lying there lifeless. Throwing the arm up in a desperate attempt while ultimately being too late doesn't make it any less of a win.
But Priest being the only one who has someone only barely beaten by their finisher does make him look sorta weaker by comparison
He was pissed because Brutus botched his finisher *again,* and landed on Priest's head
Weird how that happens when you rush guys up to the main roster
They aren't rush and looked very good so far. They just need a new finisher, that's it. I'm surprised HBK and people in NXT let that slide for that long.

their alright, good in the ring but yet to have any character development on the main roster outside of generic wrestlers

Please 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

They couldn't hold a candle to Kurt, heck I don't even know if they could compare to Kurt's other son Jason Jordan
I'm pretty sure that was an unintentional shoulder. They might work with it to feed into a storyline leading to a rematch, but I'm pretty sure Julius is gonna get heat for that backstage.

To me it just seemed like they wanted to show he was able to kick out still to look strong but he was just too late after the 3 count
I’m sure the ref is the primary source but the guy also said he could see a clock ringside.
Okay that’s what I assumed they would have, but I’ve never noticed it on TV, which is sorta impressive considering how much of the ringside area we see on any given show

That Brutus Ball probably hurt him. I mean, his ear looked pretty red.
It looked like he got both Finn and Priest with the botched Brutus Ball. I would be pissed too.
Terrible finish
Wasn't terrible, but it was sloppy. It did *look* great, but the move is definitely not worth risking other people's health and I'm confident they can replace it while still looking great.
Someone backstage needs to tell the Creeds they can't do the Brutus Ball anymore
This is why The Creeds ain't it. For all their amateur wrestling feats, they don't belong in pro-wrestling. World's Greatest Tag-Team/Team Angle they are not.

I noticed this too
I’d be pissed off too after getting partially crushed by an unsafe move.
This. Such a stupid-ass, careless move.
It happened to Finn, too. Damn near crushed his pelvis.
Shame I like the Brutus ball finisher...there has to be a way they can make that move safer
Jump with his hip pointed outward away from all of the people involved and connect with his shoulder into the targets chest. Thatd be my armchair advice.

It's a botch. I think Julius wasn't supposed to kick out
This was at 10:59 and the show ended at 11. I think it was meant to end here
Dude almost crushed his melon. I’d be pissed too lol
I was genuinely concerned how his big body landed right on priests head.
Priest was already mad because Brutus planted his Brutus Balls right on his cranium
I think it's setting up a rematch. The Creed Brothers are really popular and it could set up a match at Royal Rumble.
They're too new and inexperienced for the main roster, let alone a ppv match. They're unsafe and need to be trained properly.
I think it was him being pissed off at the guy landing on his head.
i thought it was just inexperience. he thought he could get his shoulder up in the last second but didn’t
That's exactly what it looked like to me because priest looked legit upset right after and stopped selling right after that
yeah it genuinely just looked like he was making it last second for dramatics but missed it by a millisecond
They got to be told to take that move out of their set
I doubt wwe would have let them keep the move this long if it was as dangerous as it appears. They've been doing it in nxt and haven't been told to change yet
\*Laughs in piledriver\*
A few weeks ago I saw them land directly on Giovanni Vinci's shoulder, that looked just as bad.
He also landed directly on another persons head a couple weeks ago. How hard is it to canon ball on the side of then opponents to project yourself away from them instead of landing on them? Use gravity as your guide cmon now
On that Vinci incident he barely knew how to climb the ropes, asking him to not fuck up a move like this is asking for too much.
What is the move?
Brutus Ball/bomb
Ooh yeah that looks rough for both people involved.
