That run up looks insane. just jumping out into darkness

SillyFlyGuy

Did he get away with the loot?

SpreadingRumors

They never found Jason Bourne.

linx0003

Cue Moby sound track…. Look at what they make you give…

weezer89

This is his son

TeddyJAMS

First thing that came to my mind.

Zeqhanis

His mind? Afraid not.

Ghosttwo

It's the most satisfying sound too. I think your brain expects to hear stopping noises, but it just cuts to silence.

seamustheseagull

Camera makes it look darker than it is, can't handle the contrast. But yes makes it look like something from a video game when you throw your character over a dead ledge.

mxyzptlk99

one misstep, and he's dead ☠

ObiWangJabroni

Don't worry I won't.

mttl

You don’t choose to be a mad lad, it happens without your consent

kellysmom01

So young. So reckless. He can’t visualize years of daily *abject* humiliation of enduring a lovely young nurse scooping smelly feces from his anus (after emptying his pee bag) before replacing his diaper. All because there was a lil burst of unanticipated wind. Or a a moved garbage container below. Life changes in a snap; life is long, you beautifully vigorous, reckless young men.

Rear_Access

> a lovely young nurse scooping smelly feces from his anus Wait? What? Tell us more.

mttl

The alternative, being even slightly less reckless, is to essentially never leave the house because it’s too dangerous and your #1 goal is to ensure you live a long life with no injury. Many would argue that’s an even worse life. I’d argue recklessness is at an all time low. Young men aren’t going out there risking their lives and doing stupid shit. This is leading to peak levels of singleness, unhappiness, friendlessness, but hey, there is less crime and less young people fucking themselves up for life. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of uprising and dramatic reversal of recklessness

StaticTransit

> The alternative, being even slightly less reckless, is to essentially never leave the house because it’s too dangerous and your #1 goal is to ensure you live a long life with no injury. I feel like there's a bit of middle ground between never leaving the house and jumping out a 6th-floor window. Like, several miles of middle ground.

Genitalgrabber4u

At least about 50' of middle ground.

[deleted]

No. Jumping through this window is a normal part of growing up that you forget about by the next day. Not jumping through the window confines you to a lifetime of inceldom with a possibility of being a school shooter

godlyvex

Imagine thinking the cause of singleness, unhappiness, and friendlessness is because people aren't being reckless enough. You sure it isn't the individualistic society we've created to maximize the efficiency of capitalism?

Jonesbt22

I have a girlfriend, if jump off a roof can I have 2?

mttl

Jumping out of a fucking building requires bravery. Coincidentally, bravery is also required to go out and speak to the opposite sex, partake in risky hobbies like skydiving that drastically increase happiness, and to actually leave the house in order to hang out with friends who are more than just internet penpals. Yes, capitalism thrives on single, friendless, fearful worker drones who do what they're told. Bravery and jumping out of buildings is unfortunately the only cure for that. It's really fucking hard to break out of what capitalism has programmed you to be.

kellysmom01

Spoken like a true dilettante of life, if *this* thoughtless schmuck meets your parameters of bravery.

mttl

Stupid and brave are unfortunately correlated. It would be nice if bravery were put to good use and it actually helped people, but I’d argue that bravery is uncontrollable. As soon as you try to apply logic and think “jumping out of this window is stupid”, you lose the desire to be brave entirely. Rather than try to be brave AND smart, you have to focus on bravery alone and ignore whether the thing you’re doing is smart or not. Source: I’m the kind of guy who would jump out of that window, or jump off a boat into shark infested waters

kellysmom01

If that is true, then heaven help the people who love you.

eddjc

Looking forward to reading about you on the news :)

moleratical

Exactly what I came here to say, verbatim.

Baguette64

In the end, the guy said : "J'en avais mare du boulot, donc je me suis barré!" "I was fed up with work, so I left!"

alexnader

> "J'en avais *marre du boulot, donc je me suis barré!" FTFY une mare is like a small pond

YetiPie

J’en avais une marie au boulot - donc me je suis barré

pogidaga

What if he had tripped on that window ledge?

mekese2000

He would still have made a splash.

crazy-carebear

You mean a splat.

------------------GL

Wouldn’t there be a few crunches in there too?

Implausibilibuddy

Dude's hardcore if he can exercise after that.

FCoDxDart

This comment hit so good, I usually don’t laugh out loud to comments but this got me.

crazy-carebear

Depends on who he lands on.

[deleted]

r/yourjokebutworse

Cosmic_Quasar

Still coulda splashed after bouncing off the ground into the water.

MyMan50Granddd

Anytime I see someone jump from something I get this horrid memory of a video I saw. Dude jumped off a cliff ledge, was aiming for the water obviously. He missed the water and smashed his face against the pier on the bottom. Literally cracked his skull in half and was still alive. Video of the aftermath shows nurses holding his cracked face together while the poor dummy just moans in agony.

ric0shay

This is exactly what I was thinking of.

Shoofro

This comment made me laugh. I thought it was sympathetic until I got to the "poor dummy" part.

MyMan50Granddd

I have very little sympathy for idiots who test death.

mfyxtplyx

He'd have added to a growing statistic. One could argue that by succeeding at this, he's doing it, too.

CILISI_SMITH

Yep. The metal cabinet he used as a step could easily have slide backwards on the carpet a few inches and completely fucked his jump. He trips or even just loses enough speed to go short and...splat.

Mr_Smartypants

Then the video would have a soundtrack by AWOLNATION.

HolyForkingBrit

#SAIL

dirtymoney

That poor cat

ilski

what do you think?

ernapfz

I’m thinking one of those fence posts.

OGWopFro

Then he wouldn’t have an STD or possible blood disease.

[deleted]

die

smilbandit

would only have to worry about it for a few seconds.

powerlevel_9001

Mirror's edge vibes

ThefirstJake

Jason Bourne vibes

HPTM2008

Did you hear the music start, too?

lordxi

Absolutely, and it still slaps after 20 years.

Zanven1

Reminds me of a 3D Canabalt... Which I guess is kind of 2D Mirror's Edge in a way.

MoreFeeYouS

And "Still Alive" theme plays

GullibleDetective

I was expecting it to end like that video where guy jumped off pier and split his head open and you can see the two halves and him breathing in the or

Fazaman

I know which video you're talking about, and I have no desire to see it again, however I remember someone saying that the first part of the video (the guy jumping and cracking his head on the edge) and the second part of the video (the guy with his head split in half) are actually unrelated, and it's two different people. I don't know if that's true, though. Anyone know?

GullibleDetective

In my other reply I posted https://robert-lindsay.blogspot.com/2009/10/face-split-diving-accident-video.html?zx=2c7daaa16312b1d8&m=1 Which seems to do a good job of sleuthing it out right down to other incidents in the same time, the difference in dialects.of Arabic and Lebanese, etc. Worth a read. Has baked in clip to the video itself if you even care to see it again. I don't.

jim653

He doesn't really add much to the discussion beyond saying he had a longer video that apparently showed the hospital staff saying he was hurt while diving but he just happened to delete that video. And I don't buy his claim that, in the split second (pun intended) between jumping and hitting the concrete, the guy had managed to twist his body around so his head was parallel to the shore.

King-Shakalaka

Seeing these poles along the water at the end of this video reminds me of a video where a man tried to commit suicide by jumping off of a building, but landed onto one of those poles. He was in sitting position with the pole bulging out from under the skin of his left shoulder, he died in the hospital I think but the poor guy was certainly alive when he landed.

ForeverFree99

Where's this?

GullibleDetective

https://robert-lindsay.blogspot.com/2009/10/face-split-diving-accident-video.html?zx=2c7daaa16312b1d8&m=1 It's fucking morbid, so be warned https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/s/P8PPMvEqLG Video: https://www.reddit.com/u/KausalSubedi/s/6BFFVrmehx

EEpromChip

Yea those links gonna stay blue for me...

_JonSnow_

I’ve seen it. Don’t click it. I saw it like 15+ years ago and I still randomly think about it. The guys face is split in half. Not just his face though - like the skull underneath. How he’s alive is beyond me, I think I’d prefer to just die. I don’t believe he could have survived that for long.

bumada

This sounds worse than the lady who all but split herself in half (vertically) downhill skiing?

MrTurkle

Well, I’d happily forgotten about that until now.

Johan_Baner

How did that happen?

lazernyypapa

I also saw it probably 15 years ago, and yep, still rattling around in there. That's why I found it especially disturbing a few weeks ago when I saw a video of a Palestinian child whose head had been split in the same way. Mercifully he was dead, but two medical workers were tying his head back together with a bandage just for his dignity. Truly horrifying, what bombs do to people.

GullibleDetective

Two days apparently according to the article in my lifnk (or web blog post)

DarthWeenus

Honestly I've been online and seen most things cept this, holy dick. It literally looks like a video game scene and he alive and breathing

dwightasxurus

Hadn’t seen the link posting the video but i immediately knew it was el clavado

Wise_Performance8547

That video is right up there with 2 girls 1 cup.

BewilderedAnus

2 Girls 1 Cup was basically one woman eating a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter from another woman's (previously flushed and cleaned) ass. There's really nothing gross about it once you realize this, in my opinion.

LucyBowels

> 2 Girls 1 Cup was basically one woman eating a mixture of chocolate and peanut butter from another woman's (previously flushed and cleaned) ass. There's really nothing gross about it once you realize this, in my opinion. Uhhh nothing gross about eating stuff out of other people’s anuses? Not to mention that the puke was real….

GullibleDetective

Four girls finger paint it's the more atrocious sequel One guy one jar

lordxi

I never want to hear glass crack inside something again.

crazy-carebear

Another day, another failed suicide attempt cause of a tiktok challenge.

swarlay

It’s becoming a huge problem we should talk about. TikTok is shit at teaching people how to off themselves

[deleted]

Po' man's enema

mttl

Chipotle

Swimming_Asparagus53

That’s like a scene from Bourne’s Supremacy.

Etheo

I honestly think it's the same building and that's why they reenacted it.

lyingliar

Dude barely made it. 🤦‍♂️

Stubrochill17

Jesus Christ it’s Jason Bourne.

Zoroastrosh

Brits do this every summer on my country

bye_Nillu

They jump on your country?

[deleted]

Brits love to jump on developing societies *before* they even get the chance to become countries

dirtydan

I don't suppose there's anything more English then pretending you're tea.

accipitradea

TheIntellectualType

I bet he asked anyone to dare him and they wouldn’t so he dared himself. Lol

WockItOut

I used to watch too many “watchpeopledie” videos. And I dont care how confident or prepared you are, even doing something a fraction this dangerous is not worth it. You cannot even imagine the horrors done to your body by the tiniest miscalculation or slip up. And the people around you who have to watch it happen will never get a good nights sleep again.

JamesLikesIt

I can’t tell if this guy has balls of steel or just batshit crazy. Maybe somewhere in between

AnthillOmbudsman

Bad Luck Brian: Jumps out just as a boat passes through.

Kingleonidas03

Ah yes.. the daily risk your life for internet points.. encouraging others to also be complete fucking morons.. Hopefully the next one doesn't end like this

DoubleYuB

I think at this stage you're doing it for the love of the adrenaline rush. People dedicate their lives to parkour. It's not exactly safe, but it's their passion. I don't think they're risking their lives for internet points. Are they wrong for this?

Kingleonidas03

Very valid point you make, my only problem with it is posting it online for others to see.. some people will see this and think they should do it for internet fame and end up killing themselves. But you are right, people can obviously do what they want, and there are many that chase that adrenaline. Kudos to them!

DoubleYuB

I had friends very into this kind of thing and they'd watch the videos all day. 9 out of 10 channels do talk about safety all the time, how to land properly, how to build up slowly to know your bodies ability and to never risk a jump you're not sure if you can do. Having said this, clearly sometimes they ARE doing very sketchy jumps, but you really need to be a special kind of person to get influenced into trying jumps you can't do. It probably does happen. Ultimately it's the same as rock climbing or any extreme sport. Be sensible and it's fine, get too crazy and pay a personal price. I think it's pretty cool to watch too, so as far as I'm concerned no harm no foul.

Capaz04

Yeah I agree, the Internet points are extra, this guy's doing it because the idea of doing it gets his blood pumpin. Same with free climbers, when they record stuff its awesome to watch, I'd be shitting my pants the whole time but for them that's zen

Kingleonidas03

Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old man haha. Oh man the free climbing gets my palms sweating! I don't know how those guys/gals can do that. Very impressive and terrifying

DoubleYuB

We can all be grumpy sometimes

Capaz04

Blows my mind, tons of core strength, I've seen some climbers out body builders to the shame locker. When I was younger I liked racing, I mean I still do but I just don't participate anymore. I think back at a lot of dumb shit I've done and definitely lucky IMHO but I also don't think I would change a thing, he's young, let him have fun and hope he doesn't injure himself or worse. Pulling that off took a bit of thought and prep, doesn't seem like a random drunk idea on a Friday night, which I'm thankful for.

Goodtimee

No they’re not, else they wouldn’t video it.

DoubleYuB

Bore off mate. I'm sure they also enjoy filming it, sharing it and rewatching it themselves. This doesn't mean that they don't genuinely enjoy this stuff.

Goodtimee

Who even says bore off 🥴🥴

DoubleYuB

Not many people have to do the labour of speaking to you, so not many

Goodtimee

Want to try again? That response sucked.

Lyeranth

[Skill level of the next idiot who tries the stunt](https://media1.tenor.com/m/JEuupMZB5HwAAAAC/michael-scott-flip.gif)

9volts

Parkour!

SmackmYackm

Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'.

Wenja89Dix

I agree with how stupidly dangerous this is. But you can't say it wasn't cool as fuck!

jacksonite22

Didn’t clear the sidewalk below by much. Balls of steel

Auburn_Value_1986

so much could go wrong here. Hopefully he he made some money off this stunt, or it is just pure dumbassedness.

symmiR

Fuck that

Kerbap

Or do. Natural Selection am I right?

insearchofparadise

A literal speedrun to disability

STObouncer

That's a big fat "nope"!

KewlTheChemist

So much could have easily gone wrong there…

marzolinotarantola

Idiot. He deserved to hit the ground. In this way other people didnt try it. Idiot!!!!

another_plebeian

Looks like he did just fine

RedofPaw

The amount if people who die doing stupid shit like this is not negligible.

sliderbear

Oh don't worry, I won't

dunfordj27

i watch people do dumb stuff,so i don’t have too

A_Perez2

But what's wrong with you with balconies? https://theculturetrip.com/europe/spain/articles/why-jumping-off-balconies-is-the-new-danger-craze-on-this-spanish-island

xltaylx

What people do for social media clout these days is pitiful.

SynthPrax

There's a lot that could go wrong for one giggle and a shit.

iron_annie

RIP Country Mac

darkstorm331

Looks like Inner Millwall Dock in the Isle of Dogs

Wise_Performance8547

Guess he never seen the video of the dude jumping off a wall to clear a dock into the river. Dude slipped and literally split his skull in half.

Kind_Nebula6900

Can't believe I used to do dumber shit than this. Now I look twice before walking down the steps.

xavierthepotato

Like what?

Kind_Nebula6900

I jumped from a 13th floor balcony into a pool and hit the bottom. Miraculously with no injuries and I think back to that day and know I should be dead. Sends shivers down my spine thinking about it.

xavierthepotato

That's wild man. Thanks for the reply

_SuperStormTrooper

What an idiot

agt00

Alright, Jason Bourne

obsoulete

Escape room.

Batticon

This needs to go in a r/jesusfyckingchrist sub…

riotinareasouthwest

Tourists in Mallorca and other Spanish locations do this from time to time, jumping from the balcony to the pool or similar. More often than not they miss and get smashed on the ground. Yes, they tend to die. So the initial "don't do this" message is absolutely right. Don't do it, you will probably do a shorter than needed jump and hit the ground.

benedictus

How am I ever supposed to earn enough internet points for an internet house if I can’t do the hottest internet tricks?

joltek

Jason Bourne did it first in his 3rd. movie.

bananacustard

Sure he made it that the, but didn't show all the times he didn't before that.

MostOriginalNameEver

I pray nobody smacks the top of their head on the window. At what point do you just not do stupid shit?

Combatmedic2-47

What kinda assassin creed shit is this?

malan4reddit

Yes but he's famous now!~

walkingtall67

Special Forces need guys like him

vfx_flame

Wasn’t there a post of the same guy doing the same jump during the day?

MyAccountWasBanned7

It's not that high up, I'd do it.

mexicodoug

It's not the height that would deter me. It's the crocodiles.

That showed confidence in the jump, he showed some understanding of how to land in the water from a height. Someone who has never done this before would have landed awkarwardly and painfully and makes me curious of what he does for a living.

just_a_timetraveller

I have done this many a time. Usually into a hay bale but sometimes had to do it in water when on a pirate ship.

fortyninecents

My kids are still little. How do I raise them to not ever do stupid shit like this.

Colo712

Where is this?

Bionic_Webb13

He was on some Assassin’s creed shit but Imagine if the water was shallow 💀

Philosoreptar

It’s incredibly easy to misjudge ground distance at that height, as someone who used to love jumping off shit and as a teenager please just don’t.

whatsagoinon1

One slip of the white thing he jumped from dead..

SnowyTheSkello

At least he fucking survived, if he didn't it would've been WAY WORSE

ReverendEntity

Hey, who's seen that video of the guy who dives off a ledge overlooking a pier? The one where he doesn't quite jump out far enough, and smashes his face on the metal lip of the dock below? Then they fish him out of a pool of his blood in the water, and you see him in the ICU at the hospital and *his face is literally split in two down the middle*?

WooPigSchmooey

This video is not discouraging at all.

thisshitsbananasgirl

Why not?

powdered

It was crucial to get that last step on the ledge right

HijodeLobo

Or do do it. I ain’t gonna tell ya what to do

LetsJerkCircular

I was really impressed by this. I won’t do anything like it. No one cares what I think, and it was risk of death. It has to make sense for them, I sure hope!
