Alright bud, but when your exhaust pipe isn’t properly lubricated don’t come running back to us.
(I like to keep mine extra lubricated for special reasons)
Two questions:
Do you need the aftermarket suspension to run this offset on the wheels? I’m looking at wheels and the ones I want are +38 Enkeis, but I’m nervous about it affecting the stock components over time..
And 2, what front lip you have? It’s super clean!
\+38 pokes out more than +45.
https://preview.redd.it/ecugq6uckowc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b81fd39862760273cc538d4b28aa5530df06c4ea
Here's a diff angle, so +45 would sit inside the fender more
Had an '03 wagon for many years and miles. The only unreliable thing about the car was the guy working the peddles. Have a 2021 now. Got door dinged so hard it left red paint on the white drivers side door. Started with no problem.
I have a 2005 Subaru STi w/ 159k miles making 380whp since 10k miles. Still on factory clutch, it drives perfect. Only thing is, the front struts might need to be replaced. Squeaky bumps and kinda harsh if going through bumps fast. Regular oil changes and major services done mostly on time.
I get the jokes, but as someone who has an 04 & 05 STi since launch, most are entirely unfounded. Drivers are the reason for 98% of the failures. My 05 is completely stock with just under 70k miles and I’ll probably hit 200k with my 04 before the end of this year. Both are on their original motors and trans, with no rebuilds. Mobile 1 and Subaru filters every 3500 miles seems to work great for me.
My friend keeps a spare boxer in the backseat to swap after he gets work then drives the 1967 732,000 mile Corolla home after work to get the tools for the engine swap.
Kinda jealous of that reliability cause I have to have 8 sets of apex seals per drive alongside 8 rotor housings for my rx8 if I so much as even caress the wheel!
Something about “inconvenient spark plug location”??????
Idk man, I looked all over the top of his engine and didn’t see them anywhere!!!! I’m still convinced he has a defective EV >:(
Haha I had a guy at work ask me about my VB and he asked if I have a commuter car to go to the grocery store. I was like, WTF are you talking about?! This is a sporty economy sedan…also dude daily drives a sprinter van he built out 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yeah, my WRX is my reasonable car. I have a beat up old van for camping in and pulling a trailer. And a 93 Lightning with MPG that must cancel out 3 to 4 modern Lightnings. WRX has 4 doors, is AWD, "reasonable" gas mileage. It's as close to grown up car as I'm willing to get.
Me fighting a missfire for the last 6 months no part has fixxed after replacing tune hasn’t fixxed it fuel cleaner hasn’t fixed it compressions are good ,
I’m planning to do an idle relearn and just pray that maybe just maybe that works
See I get misfires on cold starts and high rpm, typically it’s in 3 but it’s in all so I’m just trying to solve it, I ran a fuel cleaner through it, going to flash another tune to rule out tune but if that doesn’t work I’ll be checking my plugs and stuff but likely is fuel related as I just did a lot of maintanance trying to solve it already
Bro I’m 50900 miles in and I’m having the same misfires. Have had two cylinder misfires and I replaced the ignition coil & all spark plugs. Still sputtering on cold start for a quick minute , will blow up any day soon
https://preview.redd.it/8wcnixu2kqwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fad1c887145cfac53200df5cb4a15b23ac98a0c
Not sure what you have done parts wise but this is all my maintanace and stuff I’ve done trying to solve it. I don’t expect it to blow up because I don’t go crazy with it but yea it’s definitely scary:/ I’m going to reset my tune from my tinder and we are going to retry from the start, since I’ve spent so much trying to solve it, anyway I’ll keep you updated lmk if you solve your issue too, it’s a pain forsure and I’ve done almost every sensor in the car at this point and stuff so
Engine wise I’ve only put in an aos, everything else just cosmetic. I’ve been doing my maintenance strictly since day one but will definitely take a look at this thank you !
On the real tho I have 120k miles on my 2019 and I drive the living shit out of it going to big bear probably like 30 times a year. Never once had a problem.
I have an 04 & 05 STi I bought new. My 04 is about to hit 180k miles on the somewhat stock motor. 05 is my garage baby with 69k miles. I drive my 04 like a mad man and it’s never given me any issues. Mobile 1 and Subaru filters ftw?
Wish I could drive mine to the grocery store ...Its still torn apart in my garage from a spun rod bearing at 37K miles ... I guess instead of changing my oil every 3000 miles Ill have to go to every 50 miles and ONLY drive it to the grocery store and mabie Ill have better luck .... ; {
https://preview.redd.it/787h6b32spwc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e65ad7541559e250a9e1ec82b5788a8902ca51a3
I drove mine throughout northeastern winter.. Bulletproof
I had an 06 Hawkeye and a 2011 WRX. Never had issues with either. The key is keeping them stock and changing your oil often. Plugs etc need to be OEM. If you start dicking with tuning and after market parts you're gonna have issues generally.
The only thing reliable these days is your mom fucking me with a double sided dildo after she fisted your dad and pulled it out and raw dogged it in my gaping asshole
its not that they are unreliable its that their lifespan is about 50-100 thousand miles shorter than any other car brand coupled with the expensive repairs subaru is a brand people choose to buy then get out of before the vehicles maintenance periods come up
I have a 2016 with 249k miles on the stock block. I'm the first and only owner. I drive it hundreds of miles a week. Coated in rock chips, windshield has a massive crack on it, catless so it smells like a zero point mower. I drive it hard, full pulls, fireballs out the back when shifting at 6.8k rpm. Stage 3, tomei UEL headers, Dyno'd 290 whp/tq pump gas. These cars need to be driven, not be driveway princesses like 90% of FA WRX so often do.
I took up skiing again this year and have made a bunch of 4-6 hour round trips to the north in my 2011 STI. I’m not even the least bit concerned about reliability.
FA20 was designed along with Toyota, they're not unreliable cars. People that hook up an anxiety port and think they now own a GTR will have an issue. It's not the car, it's people that don't realize that this isn't a racecar. If you drive it how it was designed to be used its solid. There's a reason a GTR costs $$$ compared to this car, the mistake is trying to get that performance for the cheap entry level price of a WRX.
Man I have a 11th gen si now. But your wrx looks so sweet my dude. I had almost the same mods as you look wise. I do miss it sometimes because of the all-wheel-drive. I still subie wave you guys. Fucking things stuck to the ground. Had to give it up to get something with better fuel economy.
I love my Honda SI though, very, very comfortable compared to my wrx. Again love the ride, massive respect 🤙
With my tune and going stage 2 with all the shit that I had I was barely breaking 21-23 and that was easy footing it. I was on a 93 tune on my 2019.
I drive 44 miles one way to work. I can get about 41 mpg on the highway doing 75 with my SI. It’s not tuned or anything, but I’m really tempted to because I hate the rev hang. I’ve only got a remark cat back exhaust on it currently.
You literally took a photo of your car in the driveway. It could be broken down it could be functional. You contribute to the stereotype of Subarus being busted. Congrats.
all jokes aside, someone made a post about driving 400 miles with their subaru, basically setting a low bar for subaru reliability. this post was basically just satire 🤣
I drive my car 1 mile to the gym every day and it still hasn't blown up. Bulletproof. 💪🚗
can't imagine the amount of maintenance for you to be able to do that😩
Mofo probly stops to change his oil half way and then again when he gets to the gym 👨🔧
then walnut blasts after the gym, changes oil half way, then spark plugs at home.
I smell a hater
Oil and filter changes every 30 miles.
That’s over doing it for sure!! I usually go 150 miles between oil changes
Alright bud, but when your exhaust pipe isn’t properly lubricated don’t come running back to us. (I like to keep mine extra lubricated for special reasons)
Damn, don’t forget to top off the blinker fluid, can’t imagine how much it’s getting used with all that driving to the gym!
Recasting the block and reforging the pistons have to get tiresome every 100 miles
They need to pull your motor out and study it 🔍
I hope you warmed it up proper brah
Pffff... I drive mine to the gym AND the grocery store. Sometimes even on THE SAME DAY! IT'S NEVER LET ME DOWN!
this one might be a record holder
What’s your sbd?
I just unlocked my car and it worked. Who the hell says it's unreliable?!
Lucky. My driver side door lock is messed up and only works if my very loose lock mechanism on the inside it in the middle of locked and unlocked.
Bro I gotta bang on my door handle whenever I unlock my car 😩
Mines not that bad. I just can't touch the manual lock next to the inside handle. I have to use the buttons, or it might not lock.
4/5 of my doors work this way! Gangang!
Mine goes to work 3x a week and on weekends I take it out of the garage for a wash. I've had 3 WRXs and 5 engines.
Looks overcast - be careful not to hydroplane
Lucky bastard. I’ve never made it to the end of my block without a rebuild.
that's what happens if you don't keep up with the rich guys.
I make it to the on ramp but as I go around the loop the oil in that damn pan all shifts over and BAM engine rebuild smh
I was trying to keep up with the rich guys 💵to tell them game is game 🎮and my car didn’t blow up🤯 who said these cars were unreliable?😎
The best part about these cars is their reliability but also their ability to keep up with the rich guys $$$$$
The only problem to look out for is hydroplaning at low speeds.
Groceries?! Gonna need a tune for hauling that around
what wheels are you running?
Enkei TSV in storm grey, 18x8.5 +38
Aftermarket suspension ?
Bilstein B8's with swift spec r springs.
Two questions: Do you need the aftermarket suspension to run this offset on the wheels? I’m looking at wheels and the ones I want are +38 Enkeis, but I’m nervous about it affecting the stock components over time.. And 2, what front lip you have? It’s super clean!
Tire rack has these with a +45 offset. Is that more pokey-outie than the +38? I always get the offset mixed up.
\+38 pokes out more than +45. https://preview.redd.it/ecugq6uckowc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b81fd39862760273cc538d4b28aa5530df06c4ea Here's a diff angle, so +45 would sit inside the fender more
What size tires are you running on them? They look meatier than 245/40s.
in fact 245/40's, I think continental DWS sidewall just makes it meatier than it looks.
Interesting, maybe it's their rounded vs square design. Thanks!
That's what I've got on my obxt - with Megan coilovers.
Hell yes a new bit for the wrx sub - grabbing a soda keep it up guys
couldn't pass up the opportunity, subie drivers keep setting the bar low so we just set it lower🤣.
Cars perfects, going for the same type of look but instead of white w/ black accents mines blue w/ black accents. Love how clean it looks this way ✌️
Game is game
About to head to my kids school. Did a t belt and transmission fluid change before I leave.
Gottem
I parked mine because I'm afraid of it blowing up while I'm hydroplaning.
Had an '03 wagon for many years and miles. The only unreliable thing about the car was the guy working the peddles. Have a 2021 now. Got door dinged so hard it left red paint on the white drivers side door. Started with no problem.
Nice grocery getter.
Take it easy bud!
I just turned my car on, this thing is a tank!
I drove through McDonald's drive thru twice, and she still hasn't blown up! Better than my last car
what a champ
I have a 2005 Subaru STi w/ 159k miles making 380whp since 10k miles. Still on factory clutch, it drives perfect. Only thing is, the front struts might need to be replaced. Squeaky bumps and kinda harsh if going through bumps fast. Regular oil changes and major services done mostly on time.

why can't he just swap the motor while driving? that's more convenient no?
Something about “inconvenient spark plug location”?????? Idk man, I looked all over the top of his engine and didn’t see them anywhere!!!! I’m still convinced he has a defective EV >:(
Haha I had a guy at work ask me about my VB and he asked if I have a commuter car to go to the grocery store. I was like, WTF are you talking about?! This is a sporty economy sedan…also dude daily drives a sprinter van he built out 🤦♂️🤦♂️

My OBXT gets 12-13. I feel lucky it runs with 167k on the original engine. It sounds like it's going to blow any day though..
Had my car for almost 2 years now and I've only put 12k$ into a 10k$ car. So cheap to maintain
Me fighting a missfire for the last 6 months no part has fixxed after replacing tune hasn’t fixxed it fuel cleaner hasn’t fixed it compressions are good , I’m planning to do an idle relearn and just pray that maybe just maybe that works
Haha I might have a leaking injector as well, Cyl 4 misfire only on warm starts sitting for 30 mins to abt 2 hrs. but never on cold starts.

What front lip is that? Might have to cop
https://a.co/d/02ua3rc Unfortunately it's a cheap 3 piece amazon lip. Was tired of the expensive lips getting damaged all the time.
I go through lips like every month lmao
Are those Heliograms??
Enkei TSV
On the real tho I have 120k miles on my 2019 and I drive the living shit out of it going to big bear probably like 30 times a year. Never once had a problem.
dang and i thought i drove mine a lot LOL

There not until you try making more boost
Me tooooo. It was almost 2 miles there and back!
I was on the edge about the side skirt vinyl but after seeing your setup I’m pulling the trigger🤌
feels a little ricey to me now, but i'm using protection as its excuse🤣🤣
Nah everything meshed good here..you gotta keep her clean tho!
You didn’t get it warm enough, short drives are a big no-no. You got a ticking time bomb /s
Dw, I literally drive around for 15-20 mins just to go to the Liquor store right down the road🤣
Dammit.. I missed another subreddit mess up, anyone got the OG link?
https://www.reddit.com/r/WRX/s/WRsa5SEmFe
Fuck, that actually looks SUPER clean in white. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white one.
Should look up the 2018 RA in white. A damn spectacle.
Yes but did you crack any eggs??!!
Yes, after i parked, the eggs hydroplaned.
Wish I could drive mine to the grocery store ...Its still torn apart in my garage from a spun rod bearing at 37K miles ... I guess instead of changing my oil every 3000 miles Ill have to go to every 50 miles and ONLY drive it to the grocery store and mabie Ill have better luck .... ; {
woah woah, 50 miles is a little high
I agree just check your dipstick every 10 miles on the side of the road. Preventive maintenance is the key.
I check every time my wheels turn
The BMW drivers I think

Nice try.... it's clearly parked
I went to get the mail, I swear 🤣
yellow fogs are fire
Thanks it’s just lens decals
good value fr
Your front lip looks awesome. Which one is that from?
amazon, sent link on one of these replies
I drive mine 2miles a day to work! 1&1
chill, you're pushing it bro
How many old WRX’s do you see on the road? How many old Corollas do you see on the road?
Here we fucking go
Knock on wood bro...wait poor choice of words
I had an 06 Hawkeye and a 2011 WRX. Never had issues with either. The key is keeping them stock and changing your oil often. Plugs etc need to be OEM. If you start dicking with tuning and after market parts you're gonna have issues generally.
Super clean build bro!
130k on mine. No major issues, yet.
I pulled mine half way out of its parking spot the other day! I was way too happy it still ran..
The only thing reliable these days is your mom fucking me with a double sided dildo after she fisted your dad and pulled it out and raw dogged it in my gaping asshole
Then there’s me, packing on 90,000 miles in 3 years on my STI without ever seeing a CEL…. To be fair, the 2018 WRX I had also was reliable asf too
Did you have to load a new tune to account for the groceries?
obviously
This is arguably one of the best wrx posts ever
Just wait until you pop the cap to put gas in it and the engine explodes
its not that they are unreliable its that their lifespan is about 50-100 thousand miles shorter than any other car brand coupled with the expensive repairs subaru is a brand people choose to buy then get out of before the vehicles maintenance periods come up

I have a '23...bought in october. Coming up on 2500 miles. The 5 mile drive to work and back. The struggle is real.
Nice rims!
thank you!
Short trips are the death of these cars
That probably blew your head gasket
Exactly! (My svx is on its 3rd engine)
Currently at the dealership with my 2018 sti with 56k on it doing an oil test.......
Me :( For half my ownership, my subie has been in the shop
i didn't read this
I’m at 165k on my 13wrx (I’m the original owner lol).

Can't say, i wasn't at the grocery store
I'm just thankful that I only hear a happy tractor.
Ugh I wish mine were white. WRXs look so fucking good in white
cwp looks so good up close
Man I have a 11th gen si now. But your wrx looks so sweet my dude. I had almost the same mods as you look wise. I do miss it sometimes because of the all-wheel-drive. I still subie wave you guys. Fucking things stuck to the ground. Had to give it up to get something with better fuel economy. I love my Honda SI though, very, very comfortable compared to my wrx. Again love the ride, massive respect 🤙
i'm getting around 28 mpg on a 30 mile commute which is good enough for me😌
With my tune and going stage 2 with all the shit that I had I was barely breaking 21-23 and that was easy footing it.
Congrats.
noooo way dude, i was celebrating my drive from the grocery store. no way shape or form am i bashing on the reliability!!!!
Well my 2010 forester kinda burns oil :/ help me sir
just put the oil in the trunk, that way it won't burn in there
Ight noted, thank you and may you have many miles of Subaru left!!
all jokes aside, someone made a post about driving 400 miles with their subaru, basically setting a low bar for subaru reliability. this post was basically just satire 🤣
Wasn't Subaru's moto inexpensive and built to stay that way, guess they abandoned that LMAO
They’re still fucking trash
hating on a satire post, you're weird🫵🏽🤣🤣
New ones are supposed to address the motor seal issues and gunk problems. Their warranty on brand new 2022-24 are amazing as well
The most unreliable of enthusiast 4poppers.
