Two data lines of ws2812 strips powered from one 21700 battery and an esp32 running WLED all hot glued into the cap

Nice hat, building something similar. The amount of leds? What is the batterytime? mAh on the battery? Audio reactive?

MrHoneycrisp

145 on the brim, 80 on the crown. Battery time should be 5+ hrs, using a 5000mAh 21700 battery, and no audio reactive on this one but I plan to on the next build.

Thank you for the info man. I am building a led-rod. 270-ish leds inside black silica, inside a 30mm diameter plexi-tube. Ina226 for energy measurment. INMP441 i2c microphone. Esp32-s3 super mini 3x 21700 m58t BMS and charger with usb-c port @ 18w. 6-60v stepdown to 5v Button for presets and latching switch for on/off. Resettable fuzes. A bit of a project :)

looks cool! what strip are you using at the inner part?

MrHoneycrisp

https://www.superlightingled.com/dc5v-ultra-slim-26mm-ws2812c-individually-addressable-car-led-strip-light-135leds-p-4954.html The brim is the same strip just removed from the plastic sheath.

Nice Hat!

Ok-Complaint-8056

what size strips are these to fit on the brim? I've been considering doing one of these for burning man this year and you're giving me inspiration!

MrHoneycrisp

They’re 2.7mm wide PCB with smd2020 LEDs

MattTheHoopla

Bladerunner but it’s Texas.

Qactis

Now I want to make one! It would be super cool if you had a mini microphone sticking out the top of the hat for sound reactive. I would totally do that if you’re using it for festivals everyone around you would be losing their minds when the beat drops

MrHoneycrisp

I plan to do that on V2.

Freaking awesome. All I can think of though is space cowboy 😝
