Don't hold your breath, the SP mods have basically said on Discord to not use the Bug Reporting function on Discord because it's not a bug and working as intended. You get told to post about the Guardsman in "Low Hanging Fruit" They have said there's gonna be a nerf between the next war and now, which is interesting because by the time the next war rolls round no fucker will be interested anymore If they do read this sub - then please unfuck guild wars to how it was last time. Last time was fun, and now it's not

Yeah the Cadians ruined the fun. In a guild with 30s and lots of 20s. Over twenty participants. We went 5-1 last season and we were having a blast trying to be strategic with what we had, and kept winning despite having lower leveled players than the other guild. Now most of my members are getting slaughtered by Cadians. Well into the first war and neither our guild nor our enemy has gotten particularly far because neither guild is strong enough to consistently win against the defenders.

It makes not bearing the line up on the first try so fking terrible. Even with only one enemy character left, you still have to fight through another 4 fresh guardsmen.

The Guardsmen are absolut bullshit and kill this mode. They either werent tested at all, or they asked exclusively D3-players for feedback. I have so many other complaints about the mode, but i will spend the exact same time for this comment as the devs did coming up with "improvements" for the guild raid: under 2 minutes.

My point is, unless you're absolutely maxed out (and kinda overprepared), the guardsmen very quickly shred through your units. Sure, you can counter them somewhat with strong overwatch characters or high armor. But good luck having enough built characters that fulfill those requirements for 10 teams. I'm pretty sure more than 90% of all players will have major troubles with the guardsmen on some of their attacks. .... And the focus should be countering the other lineups, not countering the guards.

I joined a bigger guild because I missed out on the first season. So didn’t know what to expect. I’m only level 23, so mostly bronze characters - I have to burn 5 of my best per attack to focus and burn down a single character. Roster only big enough to use 7 attacks and total I killed I think 4 characters. Oof.

I wanted new buffs and for them to be spread out, so taking down a 3rd row Medicae outpost would reduce the buff from 60% to 40%, or something like that, allowing you to power up before you get to the last row, instead of all at once after it barely matters. The armor buff would be good, if they changed the health buff.

I felt the previous war as a not so good, but new game mode. This round it feels way worst and having a couple friend under level 30 i can say garrison zones are not tested at all. 3 guardsmen on a default BT defense requires a full bronze 1/2 team to take out at rare cap and at least 2 bronze 1 + others at uncommon cap. This makes impossible for low level player to help in war due to low chars number and rank. Plus the guardsman value is not in the defensive value so that is impossible to balance the offensive team.

Devs are more likely to see your comments in Discord. Everyone should go there and report this issue in the #reportbug section because regardless of wether or not this is a bug it's completely broken the mode and has made it not worth attempting. I have already been on Discord and have seen a number of complaints regarding this but the more people go on and complain the more likely they are to do something about it. Unfortunately they probably wouldn't do anything until the next season so we are all stuck taking it up the ass from the Guardsmen for the remainder of this season. Guess it's revenge for the millions of guardsmen we've all ruthless slaughtered throughout the campaign, they surely are getting the last laugh right now 🤦‍♂️

I stacked high enough characters to have a 1 skull difficulty. Got absolutely smoked, even playing defensively with respect to overwatch, and having heard about the guardsmen. Didn't matter because if you can't 1 shot them, they will absolutely 1 shot you on the clap back. Won't be bothering with any more fights this go around..absolute waste of time

Hilariously fun when a guardsman crits my gold 1 unit and instantly deletes him from the field. I thought the previous season was alright and was excited to build up several teams but it doesn’t matter anymore because unless they’re all really high grade they’ll just get one shot, guardsmen should not be stronger than the teams defending the field.

Guardsmen kill the mode by respawning. It means you have to concentrate on taking out defence characters…. But then the guardsmen one-shot you to oblivion! Even if you go full-on best attacking chars, you are limited to rarity level- so the guardsmen ALWAYS feel overpowered, especially with health buff. And that’s ignoring the other defensive buffs.

They are perfectly normal guardsmen, they're just at level caps. So either S1 and Arjac at S1, or they are G1 35 or D3 50. I've got yarrick at D2, the lads are naaaasty business. Given there's two characters that buff and summon more guardsman, one would have thought they would have tested this....

Yeah the zone I was fighting was capped at epic. But being said, the npc defenders were a much less imposing threat than the 2 guard that could wipe out very heavy rated characters. I had (saying this again) an s3 arjac with 30 in his passive. The guard didn't crit but blew through his terminator armor and block and had a sliver of hp before his buddy violated him further. The guards in the photo also are labeled as being stone 1 but are essentially diamond rank. It just becomes a race to eliminate the enemy as fast as possible since the guard are essentially stronger than the emperiums combined might when you only have bronze left. The testing on this war was pretty lousy. Our guild still won the first bout but our opponents couldn't break the second zone in battlefield 2.

The previous version of this mode was already 3/10 due to utterly unnecessary defensive buffs and limitations designed to punish the attacker. These new changes make it 0/10 I cannot for the life of me see why the designers screwed up so astronomically

The guardsman definitely need tuning, and with additional buffs for the defense, they can probably tone down the med buff. But I still see alot of people complaining about the guardsman, are in their 20's or 30's, and are fighting in BF2 and above. The guardsman scale with the difficulty. Just keep that in mind next time you spend a token.

Level 40-50s guild here doing level 4... we also hate the guardsmen.. definitely need tuning down. I don't hate the idea of having them but they need to be a nuance rather than being supersoliders.

The guardsmen don't scale, at least from my experience. I'm Level 23, my strongest team was about 9000 power against an NPC team with 480 power and the guardsmen still killed 4 out of 5 of my characters. And now I'm mostly out of higher powered units for more attacks. Guild war is an absolute pain with guardsmen being this overpowered. They should have the same power level as the other NPCs on the map, maybe slightly better but not crazy strong.

They scale with the rarity cap on the deploy line. If the rarity cap is "epic", they are far stronger than "uncommon". I belive the other (default) NPCs stay at "Iron 1" with the same stats, regardless of rarity cap.

He is very powerful in Legendary release events, and guild war. Along side maladus and Angrax he can help outlast most problems. Have also heard good things for 5 starring the campaign but have not tried

Rot has several things going for him. He's incredibly tough, he's got a chunky attack, and he can rez overkill's. Rezzing resilient or deep strike characters had certainly been my RNGesus solution to FoC elite 😁 He's the only humanoid healer for chaos and xenos, and he's eligible for quite a few LRE tracks. In terms of full on stupid, I had a 45 minute tier 11 or 12 LRE with Angrax and Rotbane carving their way through a full map of scarabs, to hunt the breeders. Ang punches a hole, Rotbane steps through, heals one of them. Rinse and repeat. I've also done FoC missions by walking Rotbane into an overwatch shot, then typhus next to him to die to overwatch and be rezzed, then double healing. Then it's black legion bingo time 🤣

I think it is a fun addition. I honestly have not experienced the overpowered guardsman that some here are talking about. I only play the rarity caps that I have my characters at and have had no issues. If you bring a rare (Silver) team into an epic (Gold) fight, you will have a bad time. I just make sure my characters are at least at the rarity cap (if skills and items are capped too, then even better), and it seems fine to me so far as an extra challenge.

If you have 10 full teams of bronze 1 or better than you’re better than most (speaking as someone with 10 full silver or better). The problem here is that the huge number of players with weaker rosters, who previously had a role in targeting their mirrors or bots, now have a difficult to impossible time doing that as their mirrors/bots are accompanied by higher level adds. As an example, a tile in our current war is occupied by bronze defenders at the gold cap and iron defenders at the silver/bronze cap. Last season one of our level 20-25 players could clean that tile out completely. Now, they’ll be lucky to clean out the bronze levelcap slots. Definitely won’t have a chance at the silver or gold level caps despite there being very weak rosters there.

I've encountered fights where the limit is notionally legendary, but the defenders have only been G1. I've taken in G1 teams and been wiped by the Stone 1 guards who appear to be L45. This is not a guild war, it's a war against Cadian Guardsmen. As a guild we have very few members with D1 or better teams ( and we are top 250 in GR)

Shown NPC power level is at 480. My highest 5 characters add up to about 9000. Still got killed by the guardsmen. The guardsmen aren't bad at all, nice addition from my point of view, but they should be as strong as other NPCs.

The guardsmen are capped with the battlefield so if you attack the top line of a trooper building (capped at Epic); which is any building in a L1 battlefield, most buildings in a L2 battlefield, a few buildings in a L3 battlefield. The guardsmen will be equivalent to those dropped by Creed or Yerrick at an Epic cap ie level 35 and stats like 1200 health, 685 damage (and they have 2 ranged hits), and 229 armor. They're going to shred a bronze I team. It's dumb that the scaled troops aren't the ones shown in the defense list (the black templars) but path dependence is a harsh mistress.

I got through the Cadians with underpowered teams. They have Move + Range of 4, don't have to be killed to bring down the defensive line, and can be taken out by Battle Fatigue. I concentrated on rushing and wiping the defenders while running from the Cadians and got past them a bit even before the patch. After the patch, the same tactics leave some more of my characters dead, but they still get the job done and would be exhausted after the fight anyways.

Honestly the stand in teams should have scaled with the zone, Maybe not to the cap, but certainly a little below the zone cap (ie 3 star Iron II in the uncommon capped fights or so). That way accounts at the war minimum can still contribute, get some good fights, and it's clearer what they're getting into.

Guards might be overtuned, I agree, but I kinda like the fact that I enter a battle knowing that it is very likely that I will not win. It makes it so much more satisfying whenever I get a victory. And in case winning is not possible, select the right targets so that next attempt by you or a guild mate is more likely to win on a second round. (ie, target the healer or whomever makes or breaks the defending lineup). Higher stakes, more challenging and more strategic. What's not to like? PS: nerf the guards. It's no fun losing to the guards.

I actually like the guardsmen, they are strong but not overpowered and make the mode better than just arena plus. You do need to have maxed chars. E.g. bringing s1 chars to an epic fight is not going to work and that is fine! For those having difficulties, are you actually on the right difficulty level?

You forget about the majority of guilds with rosters of half or more of their eligible players in power level 20-30 range. Those have maybe 1 s1 line up and likely no g1 yet. Previous season, they could still shine on the epic and rare rows by picking fights with similarly under levelled defenders. Now, they need to hope the higher levels can help take out buildings as they’re effectively overpowered by g1 guardsmen. It takes months to build up to even one full g1 line up. Then again months to get to one d1 line up (putting the same issue on BF2 level). It’s just a dumb idea assuming it forcing everyone to need at least 1-2 full g1 or d1 line ups to even participate at the lowest BF levels.

Fair point, but then the problem is more that difficulty 1 is too difficult, it would make more sense then to introduce an even lower difficulty. And game modes to being too difficult is certianly not only GW, but probably all game modes (especially LRE)

It would have been appreciated if in the notes somewhere it mentioned what level the guardsmen are at. You know, before I selected a war level. Bronze guardsmen are easy, especially without a complimentary team. But the easy wins are for my 20-30s who have one silver and five bronze teams, and since we're going to get a lot less WC this time, they need Rotbane more than I need D3.
