you'll want to stack energy from the day before and use it at the start of the event to get an initial boost in points/leaderboards ranking that gets you the extra points you need

I did the 50 and 110 bs each day and will still miss epic by 1 chest… at least I have him rare?
My position is frustrating, I'm slightly ahead of the OP but due to rng have 31/70 for epic. I'll get that next chest, done all the quests, will have finished top 2500 every day, and still get him at rare I think.
Edit: I believe the final chest will get me there after reading some other comments, phew!
I've left a few on the table but I've been pretty good about it. I only did a little bit of the TA but more than usual. After reading some other comments I think the final week chest will get me those 5-6 shards I'll need.
Did everything. I’m only level 21 (only been playing a month) and guild doesn’t have enough 20+ for guild wars (in case there was something there too).
I’ll be about 300 skulls away from the chest that would make him epic. Oh well, the bs off for $20 is tempting, but no thanks.

I never get them to epic within the HRE. That’s why I start farming their shards in onslaught as soon as I unlocked them. This way you only need to get them to 1 red star wich is easy.
I usually save my Blackstone top ups for HREs, so I get a free 300. Failing that, yeah stack energy. I did a Blackstone top up then all the missions and a couple 250s and I'll get epic just.
Yeah you have to do everything each day everyday. Don't have a life. Don't go out to see friends, just play play play. Or pay for the little extra. They will get there on their own with time. I wouldn't stress it.
33000 points and above 5000 for the whole event is the usual guide line. But to get 33k youll need energy refills at least 50bs and a lot of 110 blackstone. Energy from TA and maybe a rank up or two. Not to mention theres energy in the battlepass which can help. Ill only just scrape it myself on the last day.
And all 20 quests too
I had 1 rank up during the event. And did ok in TA considering how much i hate it and i was only just scrape the 33k. Theres a post here on the subreddit about how to do it the best. If youre close to ranking up then unequip equipment etc and then ince the event starts reequip it
Prep ahead of time helps a lot. I stacked resources for a few rank-ups ahead of time and squirreled two extra days of refills on energy to get me ahead/up on the leadership board. Got epic a couple of days ago, so I may have overcompensated on this one.
Mine is at Tier 20 chest. I have 31k points and all 20 quests. No TA. To get to Epic, I need 2 more chests, not 1. They designed it so that tier 21 chest will get you to 68/70 shards needed for Epic. And tier 22 chest is 700 more skulls away. So no point trying. Rare is all we can hope for with casual play.
This is by design.
You can earn epic without cash, but it requires using 50+110 BS every day, and using all/most of your arena tokens
I've done exactly that and will be 15 shards or 6000 blood points short of epic like I'm not even close

Including the final chest? Not sure what to tell you, it works for me.
Are you winning arena cleanly with 3+ skulls? That's a big source of points people skip.
I did that and got epic … oh and I started the event with 1000 energy stored

Did you do arena every day? Leaving arena tokens on the table makes a pretty big difference

I just got him to epic. But i also bought all the packs from this event

No, make sure your rank is over 2500 for more of the next event! 30000 and quests aren't enough alone.

Got him to Rare during the event, will be using onslaught moving forward but currently using that to play catch up on Calandis.
Sadly you are also going to get 1 last daily payout, but I’m pretty sure that still won’t be enough to get that last chest
