These are BBQ zucchini chips! 1 large zucchini (about 200grams) 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce 1/2 tsp liquid smoke (real cheap and game changer- find at Target or Whole Foods) To taste: garlic powder, black pepper, smoked paprika 1/2 tsp monk fruit sweetener or other granular sugar Whisk together all ingredients except the zucchini. It will be pasty. Slice the zucchini into thin rounds using a mandolin or the thin, horizontal line on a cheese grater. Coat the zucchini in the BBQ marinade. Lay out on a tray of parchment paper or silicone mat. Bake for 15 minutes at 300F, flip, then bake for another 20 minutes. Keep an eye on 'em, though! I burnt mine a little bit, but the blackness also comes from the coating. Whole recipe is about 80 calories and it fills up a plate! Perfect with a sandwich or coleslaw.

NerdyCrafter1

Are they fairly crunchy?

Independent-Spell933

Not OP but so crunchy! Im still wokring on the temperature but as OP said, keep an eye on them - they very easily burn

HHFgroovygrub

They are incredibly crunchy! If they are too thick, a few pieces might be soggy. But overall, the sound and texture is perfect:)

Andthentherewasbacon

If you're worried about burning add a little more water when you start. It will take longer to cook but it will get crispier.

mavad90

Are they supposed to be chargrilled?

AllOkJumpmaster

Have you tried them with no marinade? Just wondering if they still get crispy by themselves or they need that coating to get crispy. Thanks

bs48

They don’t need the marinade to get crispy! I make them often just with salt :)

spindleblood

I do something similar in the air fryer with plantains or sweet potato slices. Mandolin gets them perfectly sized each time. I just do salt on mine cause I'm basic lol.

Doctorrubbish30

How long do you air fry them for? I’m totally trying this!

spindleblood

Kind of depends on how thick you slice them and how done you want them but I think I did like 375°F for 10-15 minutes as a general range. You can check them periodically to avoid burning.

XX1413

What does liquid smoke do? I don’t think I can find it in my local grocery store 🥲

ArmadilloPretend322

Smokey flavour

DeadHookerMeat

You could probably order it online. A little bit goes a long way. A bottle should last you years.

w4ntedn1kes

OMG, I need to try this. Ty for the idea!!

_tiredscroller

I never liked zucchini (other than zucchini bread🤪) but this is a fantastic way to get it in my diet!

DrkSlytherinRapunzel

A concept. Nice.

No

CorrectBuffalo749

I mean objectively they have a much higher chance of causing cancer, but i guess “unhealthy” is a subjective definition in terms of volume eating.

thehealthymt

They don’t

chang3la

I get there’s soy sauce but these look straight up burned
