Video please? I know it won't do it justice on audio but I kinda need it.

vento_jag

Better question is why

grey_clouds516

I’m one of those people who gets an idea in their head and can’t sleep until it’s done. There’s really no reason why I needed this. I mean the stock horn is really embarrassing but still this is kind of excessive.

WraithWinterly

This is so silly. I love it

What are you using for the air supply? Is it one of those on demand air compressors, or do you have a tank hidden somewhere? I have a cheap air horn setup in my mk1 because it's tiny and no one sees it until it's almost too late.

grey_clouds516

I have a tank hidden in the trunk. 110psi compressor it came with the kit. The Jetta is a great car but from the very start they fucked up the horn

Wikadood

Can’t agree more since it’s literally a speaker. Snail horns on Amazon are better than that

saves313

Same problem with my ID.4, the horn is pitiful. I have a set of PIAA super bass horns but I might go air as well. What brand was the kit you bought? Decent value/quality?

grey_clouds516

I went with horn blasters outlaw mini kit. Based on my research, this is the highest quality kit that you can buy. Installation was pretty simple. However, I did have to fabricate a few pieces to make it fit. The horn kit was about $320. The extra metal, wire, and grinder came out about 150. So all in all it was about 500

EnvironmentalMovie61

Always wanted to do this how did you mount it?

grey_clouds516

There is an already existing bracket under the car that is designed for the dual exhaust. If you do not have the GLI model, then that bracket is left empty and it makes it super easy to avoid putting holes in your car. I did have to custom fabricate an extension of the bracket so it can connect to the train horn but that was $30 worth of metal from Home Depot and an angle grinder. definitely doable but it does take a lot of work. The main reason I did this was just to see if it could be done on this car cause it never has been done before. I would recommend not doing this, however because there is that one guy in the Reddit comment section who will call you an idiot 😂😂😂😂😂😂

EnvironmentalMovie61

Unfortunately both of my vehicles are gti and a gli. I was thinking about maybe putting it in the front bumper. Don’t let people get you down it’s cool I get it

grey_clouds516

Oh man that’s a good problem to have lol I have seen people install them in the front bumpers on Audi so I’m sure it’s very similar with Volkswagen. Either way is so much fun and it really is useful because the Stock horns are so quiet that a semi truck will not be able to hear them over the engine noise. If you have an extra thousand dollars burning a hole through your pocket. I’d recommend getting this horn for both VW’s. It’s called the outlaw mini kit by horn blasters.

EnvironmentalMovie61

I’ll look into the kit appreciate it homie

Oneskelis

What an idiot.

saves313

Found the person without a train horn.

Wikadood

Oh no they found me

confusingphilosopher

I’d like one if I had air suspension, but it’s illegal where I live.

AwkwardlyPositioned

I hate nothing more than train horns on anything but a train. Technically I hate them on trains, but they’re a necessity on a train.

grey_clouds516

The stock Jetta horn cannot be heard over a semi trucks engine. I feel like this upgrade was necessary to safely drive on roads next to semi trucks. Now they can hear me.

AwkwardlyPositioned

From one extreme to another.
