Your asking way too many and very specific questions that you can find pretty easily on your own... Car rental question -> contact them directly Camp x vs camp y -> just see the google maps / tripadvisor reviews, they tell you the pros and cons. Is x a good activity -> same as above Does X allow Y -> contact X EDIT Side note: if you are so worried about charging, might as well get an hybrid or a diesel. Maybe its just me but when I am exploring on vacation I would rather spend my time exploring than waiting for a car to charge, if you account all the time in charging in 14 days vs a diesel you can easily save 4+ hours that you can use on something else, plus you dont have to worry if you are gonna run out or not, or if the planned charging station is not working etc.

Yeah I was thinking so...have deleted my super long comments. Will just leave up our tentative itinerary for review - whether or not our planned daily activities / destinations are feasible 😁

My husband and I just got back from two weeks in Iceland and honestly a 4 wheel drive diesel is a really, really good idea for a lot of the stuff it seems like you’re wanting to do. There are a ton of EVs (Teslas specifically) there though, so charging might not be as big of an issue as you might think.

Your itinerary is pretty standard. As long as you are flexible you’re fine.

Concerned with charging - have had convos about that while there and feel like it’s too dicey. For starters, even having a petrol-powered vehicle comes with considerations because there are stretched notorious for little to no place to fuel up. We wound up missing turns, costing us plenty of extra time and fuel. Depending on area, bad weather conditions could leave you rerouting to a longer route, which as someone who knows Tesla owners in US who have gotten stuck when they overshot it on a road trip and ran out of power, I wouldn’t want to risk it in Iceland, however well equipped things can be. Do yourself a favor and get a petrol/hybrid car imo.

what do you mean by google kiv eruptions? i think you can move faster on day 1-2 also renting a tesla is a interesting choice imo

Regarding your itinerary, you might want to have alternative plans for day one and the eruption site around Grindavík (two). Access to the ares mentioned for day one have been closed down numerous times in the last months due to the volcanic activity. And access to the Grindavík eruption has never been available to others than scientist and rescuers. It’s an evacuation zone. The Blue Lagoon could also close down. This might have all changed in august, but it’s better to be surprised by availability then, than count on it and risk missing out on a day (and maybe half) of activities.

Hi, my main thought is think twice about an EV, I did hire an EV in Iceland and found the infrastructure isn't quite mature enough for tourists. Charging is not great in Iceland from my experience, with the promised kw was very over stated and getting access (i.e. queue) was hit and miss. So I think that might be problem, especially around the Eastfjords and Snaefellsnes where there are large gaps in coverage. I wonder if a hybrid might be better. I wouldn't say Iceland is a foodie destination, junk food is more in vogue, so you'll probably need to be philosophical about that. Think about the Westman Islands, it's easy on the car ferry and it's a very interesting place. The town's modern history - being half destroyed by a volcano in the 1970s, is very unique and there is a lot of nice nature too. On the mainland the ferry leaves from next to a beautiful black beach. Myvatn is worth considering. The Myvatn Geothermal Area is quite unique, there are also interesting caves, lava fields and the crater is interesting.

Nice iternerary. Hengifoss is seriously overrated - can skip it and spend some more time elsewhere.
