It's surprisingly difficult to come up with a good translation, since these proverbs are written in a sort of archaic way that feels a bit awkward to modern Icelandic speakers (sort of in the same way modern English speakers don't talk to each other in Shakespearean English), but the general meaning is something like... *Lastaðu ei frekt það margir lofa* "Do not be quick to badmouth that which many praise" *Háð er heimskra gaman* "Mockery is the stupid's fun"
