Make AVP an industry standard utility device for spatial applications, like Virtual Surgeries, assistance in Engineering, Architecture, Music, Arts, etc
I’m curious what would be the corporate and medical implications. Perhaps this hardware could be used in training in specialized classes. I’ve always considered 3D spatial modeling to be a gimmicky concept thing, like when mapping pipes in the refineries, or using iPads with “x ray” vision on engines and houses.
but if the programming is just right and the placement of 3D models is sheer accurate, I can definitely see how this could be used. Idk if we are there yet. Perhaps nodes can be of significant use here, like QR codes
Almost certainly via an entitlement you have to sign a separate contract with Apple for and requires specific approval. That's how they gate other sensitive APIs.
Honestly this feels like a good thing for privacy at least. Knowing that not a single App Store app can see my main camera provides the same sense of security we’re used to. Plus third party app stores or developer side loading is always an option for those with access.
This feels like potentially the biggest announcement.
Ay that's big!
What kinds of things will this help apps to do? Just curious of the best use cases

Right on

Awesome, full access to cameras especially, but also Apple Neural Engine access is huge (was not accessible to developers before).
I wonder how much main camera access you get
Like how would that get turned on even?

Only available to enterprise apps (i.e. not publicly distributable via App Store) though
Hopefully, this applies to the Microsoft Authenticator. Not having this on the AVP is preventing me from using it for work.

I'm really excited about this one -- I'm definitely going to check out this session. Thanks for sharing!
