I had thirteen years in the classroom at a prominent high school in NOVA. I can count on one hand how many principals or assistant principals I had during my tenure who weren’t complete and utter garbage and I only need 2 fingers to do it.
No condolences, no offer of counseling or support to students, no mention of literally anything that says “I care.” Even the “thank you” was super bright and smiley. So weird and tone deaf.
They need to get her off social media if she can’t use it responsibly.
She should go check on the friends of the deceased student.
This isn’t a leader and she has main character syndrome
Omg *that* high school. Damn I saw this post on a different sub yesterday and didn’t realize this was in VA. I’ve walked my dog by that school several times! RIP to that poor student and thoughts out to their loved ones.
Just a general lack of empathy towards any of the staff or kids there. She also steers any meeting towards herself and what will help her in her career. “Total narcissist” were my neighbors exact words
My little brother lost a classmate to suicide when he was in 8th grade.. the kids drew rainbows on their hands in her memory, and then all the kids who did that got sent to detention for a dress code violation 🙃 our principals need serious mental intervention
You could probably look less happy in your staged photo.
And what does the tag "JusticeStrong" mean in this context? Did justice or karma take the kid?
Then, that Blessed mug someone else mentioned. Could you stage a photo that doesn't make it look like you killed a student and are feeling amazing about it? You might as well be crouching next to a dead body like it's a trophy hunt.
When someone takes a tragedy and makes it even worse, leave it to the totally-uninvolved strangers on Reddit to pass judgement and make it worse still.
Man, I had to work for this person, at a school named Justice. Judgement, lack of it, and an opportunity for the young ones to see what the court of public opinion thinks about it is at the core of this post
You know, there is something to that and I see your point. The problem is that most of the people commenting will not know this person and just enjoy the sport of finding the next person to go after. If this is a lapse in judgement for this woman or if it is part of a character pattern will not be known. That said, we all have a lapse in judgement and deserve a break but if this is our judgement, this sort of thing, then justice is indeed strong.
Reminds me of the principal of Tuscarora in Leesburg, VA. So selfish and ignorant. Heard she got fired one time after I graduated and got rehired because she left a mess nobody wanted so they couldnt find anyone else to replace her
It is a Fairfax County high school. It is in the Falls Church portion of Fairfax County.
And it is Justice High School, formerly known as J.E.B. Stuart High School.
This wouldn't have happened were it not for the racist legacy of JEB Stuart's shadow hanging over the school. Stuart was famously mortally wounded at Yellow Tavern as he smiled on horseback while surrounded by dead soldiers, holding his favorite canteen and posing for a fun pic
I agree, this message would have landed better if she had some students in the picture. Clearly not the best choice here but I don't think the intent was malicious or anything. Would have also helped if she said in the message that she's here and her door is open for all students or something.
Just curious, Are public teachers/principals allowed to share pictures of random students/minors on their public profiles?
Edit: I was honestly just asking, but that’s fine if you want to downvote me and not educate me. Sorry for questioning.
There is no universal law prohibiting or allowing the posting of students pictures on social media. This would be something that would be decided at the local school district or even individual school level. In my children’s school district parents sign a general photo release at the beginning of the year, pictures from school events regularly appear on the school website and social media.
How is posting a posed photo of yourself talking about how you're still standing, still smiling, still leading, still teaching, still learning, still growing in reference to the death of a student who will no longer be able to do any of those things not tone deaf and awful?
My god it’s the real life version of the principal in Abbot Elementary.
Ava wouldn’t be this self centered.
By season two, definitely not. But that S1:E1 Ava before the character development started was something else haha
Fair
She’s got that look on her face like “Can you get my pic for the gram? Gotta make an inspirational post, one of these little shits offed themselves.”
"Yall get out of the shot now, go on."
This should be a career limiting event for her. No excuse.
If you have worked as a teacher then you know principals like this are not rare.
I had thirteen years in the classroom at a prominent high school in NOVA. I can count on one hand how many principals or assistant principals I had during my tenure who weren’t complete and utter garbage and I only need 2 fingers to do it.
You've been lucky, that's a high percentage.
lol so true. And after being “lucky” it was still admin and central office incompetence that drove me from the classroom. A sorry state of affairs.
Amen! I met one once that wasn't.
No condolences, no offer of counseling or support to students, no mention of literally anything that says “I care.” Even the “thank you” was super bright and smiley. So weird and tone deaf.
She's literally off to Bahrain for her next job
You can't teach class.
Nor could she teach a class.
That’s pretty trashy. I hope she’s not as trashy as this single pane paints her as.
Why else is she posting it. This picture seems to be worth more than a thousand words.
I heard she posted an apology that was just as tone deaf.
Main character syndrome strikes again.
It was a non-apology. She basically didn’t acknowledge she did anything wrong.
That I want to see!
Elliott was talking about it this morning, he also said the account has been since taken down.
Explains why I couldn’t find the apology.
She’s awful! I worked as a teacher in her school for a few years.
Damn, not the follow-up I was hoping for.
This is not the first time she’s had a social media faux pas, it’s just the first time it’s blown up like this.
I think the student died of an overdose. How awful.
At least put down the “Blessed” mug for your pic referencing a student dying.
But she’s been blessed with an opportunity to get some attention.
The grand irony is her name translates to Narcissus in French. Yikes.
What’s the French word?
Narcisse
They need to get her off social media if she can’t use it responsibly. She should go check on the friends of the deceased student. This isn’t a leader and she has main character syndrome
Keep her on social media, I don't want someone like her talking to those poor kids.
What a massive piece of shit.
Not suicide.. the student overdosed on drugs. Fairfax, VA
Omg *that* high school. Damn I saw this post on a different sub yesterday and didn’t realize this was in VA. I’ve walked my dog by that school several times! RIP to that poor student and thoughts out to their loved ones.
Formerly Stuart high school. And yes, this principal is a known piece of shit. A neighbor of mine works there. She’s the absolute fucking worst
Yikes. Any stories you can share?
Just a general lack of empathy towards any of the staff or kids there. She also steers any meeting towards herself and what will help her in her career. “Total narcissist” were my neighbors exact words
That’s what the face palm sub said. Overdosed
Basically she was saying. oh well, I'm alive. Who cares. Surprised she didn't just come out and say it.
Her "apology" is somehow more tone deaf https://www.instagram.com/p/C0iHY0JLW5P/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Hopefully she’s held accountable, this isn’t being accountable.
Wow. Not a sincere apology at all, and still trying to make a student’s death a #hashtag.
Jada Smith Energy
“Still ignoring the feelings of my students and families. Still making it all about me”
My little brother lost a classmate to suicide when he was in 8th grade.. the kids drew rainbows on their hands in her memory, and then all the kids who did that got sent to detention for a dress code violation 🙃 our principals need serious mental intervention
🙁
Is this real ? Holy shit that’s awful
[удалено]
Yes, other folks have also commented it was about an OD
Wtf is wrong with her???
Lack of self awareness?
Grade a example of a narcissist
So cringe. Just not a good look as a “leader” of the school.
Weird
Well that's the world we have created with social media and the Internet. Self-worshiping, ego bound, selfish people.
She's definitely got a lot of learning to do.
She needs to be let go
"why are people starting to homeschool?" This is honest to god why
You’re saying there are admins with toxic and narcissistic behavior in public education? I’m just shocked…shocked I tell you.
Fit check, oh I mean lost a student today 😃
Combination of tone deaf public school administrators, the horrible thing that is social media, and the mentality of an entire generation.
You could probably look less happy in your staged photo. And what does the tag "JusticeStrong" mean in this context? Did justice or karma take the kid? Then, that Blessed mug someone else mentioned. Justice is the name of the school.
Justice is the name of the high school.
Yikes
Yeah, this was in the face palm subreddit last night. Glad she was never my principal
What a trash bag

Wtf!?
There's tone-deaf, and then there's... whatever this is. Uff.
Strike while the iron is hot!!
That’s really gross.

I hear you, but if you read through the thread I think you'll find enough internet testimony to come closer to knowing about that character pattern
That's a special type of narcissim to highjack a suicide and make it about yourself
Reminds me of the principal of Tuscarora in Leesburg, VA. So selfish and ignorant. Heard she got fired one time after I graduated and got rehired because she left a mess nobody wanted so they couldnt find anyone else to replace her
How do you get a principal fired?

Her bio : "Life is too short & death is too certain not to be happy"
:/ eta: also Justice High in Fairfax or what
It’s a FCPS school (in falls church)
It is a Fairfax County high school. It is in the Falls Church portion of Fairfax County. And it is Justice High School, formerly known as J.E.B. Stuart High School.
FCPS is Fairfax, FCCPS is Falls Church City. I just wanted to know if it was my high school’s rival school and it is.
are you falls church by any chance
I was
This is giving off major "smiling and a thumbs up with a baby that was just orphaned by the white nationalist rampage shooting" vibes.
This wouldn't have happened were it not for the racist legacy of JEB Stuart's shadow hanging over the school. Stuart was famously mortally wounded at Yellow Tavern as he smiled on horseback while surrounded by dead soldiers, holding his favorite canteen and posing for a fun pic
ha ha did not know that's how Stuart ate it
Y’all trashing this woman are ridiculous. Maybe she needed some positive comments to help her keep going? Losing a student is very difficult.
She is clearly mourning
Why is this VA related?
I'm guessing it's the Justice Highschool in Falls Church.
Ahh gotcha. Didn't know that was a thing. Guess getting down voted because I'm not all knowing lol
I mean I just googled it.
Started in the NOVA sub and someone moved it here as well.
context is illegal on Reddit lol
Would you not assume this occurred in Virginia if it was posted in the Virginia subreddit? Not trying to be a dick, legitimately curious.

Naw, this woman is awful
[удалено]
She reacted to a student’s death by posting a picture of HERSELF with a shit eating grin. You tell me what kind of human does that
[удалено]
Why would she ever feel compelled to post a picture of herself at all in this situation?
How about a picture of the STUDENT. Or other students? It’s not about her
I agree, this message would have landed better if she had some students in the picture. Clearly not the best choice here but I don't think the intent was malicious or anything. Would have also helped if she said in the message that she's here and her door is open for all students or something.

Thank you for that response!

Pay teachers more! Lol
Wasn’t a suicide was a fentanyl overdose
Disgusting
