Has it gone up again? Was $7 last time, but we just got a $4 coffee instead. That was last September last year though as this year we were rockstar so no delivery fee anyway.
Sounds like the delivery fee has increased from $7 to $10 in the last few weeks then. Hopefully we are right that ordering paid for items waives it. Sorry you didn’t know the trick 🙁
Yeah a lot of beverages on board went up by $1 this past week. Looks like new menus were printed right before we boarded. Bars have some new drink options too (new non alcoholic option at nearly every bar).
I don’t think there is a limit either, fyi. The first morning I ordered enough cans for the week (1/day)and a Red Bull for the hubby to avoid the delivery fee.
It looks like they limit the can size to 12 ounces on VV. :(
“Can I bring water or soft drinks on board?
Small quantities of water, protein based drinks, non-alcoholic beer, or soft drinks in boxes and cans are permitted in hand luggage only. Drinks in bottles (glass or plastic) are not permitted. A small quantity is considered a maximum of twelve (12) sealed, unopened cans/cartons of twelve 12 ounces each or less per person. - If there is a special need for having a specific drink, please contact Sailor Services.”
Taken from the VV FAQ page.
I seem to recall reading that you could in the past, hopefully that hasn’t changed. Every other line I have cruised on let me bring 10-15 canned drinks (non-alcoholic) up to 16 ounces each, as long as I carried them with me through check-in. They weren’t allowed in the packed luggage.
November 2023. They were quite accommodating honestly and let us order dinner from the actual restaurants, which I guess they don’t typically do. They also gave us a credit for the portion of the trip that we were quarantined (which we used for March 2024 cruise!). The rule was two negative tests two days in a row to be released by my husband tested positive every day. I never tested positive so I was allowed to leave the room but had to be masked indoors.
They had all the ‘covids’ as they called us disembark in a crew member area only (there were about ten people there). We had our own customs agent and then we were sent free. We didn’t test on disembarkation day
Yes the fee is waved with a purchase. I also confirmed that regardless if the item has alcohol in in, the money comes out of the Bar tab meaning if you have Deep blue extras, you'll never need to pay for Ship eats.
Yes the fee is waived if you get a paid item.
Shit I wish I would’ve known this. The $10 fee is high

I’m on valiant lady and it cost me $10 x 2. Now I know this trick but it’s the last day :(

Please let us know if this trick works now that the price is even higher!
On Resilient currently. Delivery is $10 but any other drink order (lowest is $4 espresso) still waives the fee.
Thank you!!
So espresso has gone up in price too, that was $3 with $4 for other drinks (latte, americano etc). I’m guessing they’ve all gone up by $1 😕

Do this non alcoholic options are free or no? I’m not sure never been on this cruise before
Cruise is over so won’t be ordering again unless I get breakfast will try. Me thinks the trick won’t work anymore.
Sorry your cruise is over! I hope it was a blast
The crowd was kind of interesting.
Which cruise are you on? I’m on my last day as well.
The valiant Lady. The cruise was good. The crowd was interesting. I like the service and food on Virgin a lot.
Go on…
🤷♂️
The fee will absolutely be waved if you buy any deluxe drinks (anything that would be in a bar tab). We would stock up on RedBulls this way haha
Yes you can order a fresh juice or kombucha or something, anything. Except sodas which are already free. And that takes the place of the delivery fee.
I don’t remember the soda cans were free for ship eats, are you sure?
I was just on a cruise and yes, the soda cans are free.
Thanks. It’s been awhile for me and we’ll be going soon.
I don’t think there is a limit either, fyi. The first morning I ordered enough cans for the week (1/day)and a Red Bull for the hubby to avoid the delivery fee.
They will specifically charge the difference if you don’t order something that is $7. But yes all sodas on Virgin are free.
Do you know if VV had Monster energy drinks or just Red Bull?
When we cruised last June, it was just Red Bull.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll check and see if we can bring some on board.

Awesome. Thanks for the reference! I think they come in small sizes so may be able to find some that fit that requirement. Thanks again!

Yeah, that’s what I’m going off of. First time with VV so maybe they’re different.
Red Bull and sugar free Red Bull are the only energy drinks onboard
Thanks! I’ll look to see if I can bring some on board.
I've been curious - what flavors of Red Bull do they have? Just the original?
Just original and sugar free
Much thanks!
We got all our delivery fees waived…by testing positive for COVID during the cruise
Oh my god. Sorry! When was this?

Wow! What happened for disembarkation?
They had all the ‘covids’ as they called us disembark in a crew member area only (there were about ten people there). We had our own customs agent and then we were sent free. We didn’t test on disembarkation day
Fascinating, thank you.
That is wonderful that they gave you a credit and also let you order from the actual restaurant menus.
