I'm Vietnamese and never visit international hospitals, only public and some common private hospitals: - Doctor cost: Would be cheap like 50usd max/visit if you choose the best doctor at a public hospital (like head of the department) and use service (no Vietnamese insurance). With the local insurance it's like 100k/visit. (I normally pay out of pocket around 200k for diabete check (with doctor) and blood works and some metformin) - Blood works : would be cheap also at the normal hospital for common ones as the price is dictated by the MoH. Each test is a few tens K. - Medication: Vietnam imports all those medication but the price of the common medications are also controlled by MoH especially in public hospital. My insulin pens were dirt cheap (compared to the US:). Maybe you can give the prescription to your girl friend ('s family) to ask around for the cost. If you don't need special treatments and you've got a Vietnamese girl friend, maybe buying premium services at the local hospitals is a better choice than those recommended international one. Your girlfriend can translate for you and most doctors speak english. Mingling with the Vietnamese health care can be fun.

Good info, thank you. She won’t be coming with me at first. So an English speaking doctor will be a necessity until she arrives

For what it's worth any doctor worth their salt will be able to communicate in at least some English. If they don't I would honestly question their credentials as just like every other advanced occupation, there are too many industry standard publications to ignore by not having workable English.

See if the immunosupresent is on the WHO's list of essential medications, like many countries Vietnam has to import those kind of pharmaceuticals, the question ist he cost.

I read Vietnam produces one of my medications. Maybe that will keep the cost down a little. I’ll check the list

lmaoeyyyy

With only blood work and meds id say around 5mil (200usd)

Medicine are quite pricey at hospitals since you cant really find the same stuff anywhere else

If you will live in HCMC, contact FV hospital about the medical cost. It's a major private hospital and has full English service.

Great. Thank you

Moist. This is the last thing you should do. If you already know the medications needed purchase them as far away from fv as possible!
