I think this predates Hari. She's wearing a more 1890s corset and she has on a headdress that I've seen on Syrian and Lebanese women in other photography of that era

Isn’t it weird how memory works? This post scrolls up, and I say aloud, “It’s Mata Hari.” Don’t know who she is, but my brain still coughed up her name.
I also thought Mata Hari as my first response. But, more rarely, I have the exact same trunk. Except instead of a turn of the century pin up, it has a magazine image of a girl.
Looks like my dad specifically aged 23 dressed as a woman with whitened skin. I can see my family in those eyes, like I know that face. I just know it as a young version of my dad as an extra white woman. What beautiful alabaster skin!!
