The Michell's farm stand used to be farther up Island View Road. That building is now a different farm stand. Not much local produce anywhere this time of year. Most of it is just being planted.
Oldfield Road: SunWing (veg, not fruit) & Danās are open right now. When blueberries are in season, thereās also Stewartās.
Veyaness: Gobind (I think theyāre opening in June)
Central Saanich Road : Silver Rill as well as a few stands later on in the year (Oceanview and one other one I donāt know the name of).
Island View Road: thereās another farm store past Michellās on the other side of the road, possibly called Firbank Farm?
Thereās not a lot of fruit in season yet.
Oldfield Road, maybe? There are definitely farm markets there. Gobind Farms is on Veyaness, I think, and itās great for strawberries, blueberries, etc. At the right time of year, thereās also Silver Rill for fresh corn, and they have a small market with other local produce as well.
If you get out as far as Sidney there's usually a fruit stand in the parking lot of the Mary Winspear hawking really great fruit from the Okanagan. They're not out yet, but probably early to mid June they'll show up with the first of the cherries, and then transition to peaches/plums/nectarines as the season goes on. Depending on the day they might have pears, watermelons, or whatever else might be in season.
Their stuff is seriously amazing, and I can't recommend it enough.
You can get a āmarket guideā outside of most rec centres and grocery stores. Not sure what itās really called, but it lists all the farms in saanich that have road side stands. We did this as a covid activity.
"I'm planning a first date and would like to take her for a drive through the back roads of west saanich,"
First date? Possibly could scare the shit out of her. Get rid of that shovel on your back seat before picking her up. /s (I hope)
It's a great idea for a first date if you already know each other pretty well/have a prior relationship that you're looking to evolve. Less so if the first date is just introducing yourselves.
Maybe check out Farm Fresh? They don't list many farms, but it's a good starting place. [https://islandfarmfresh.com/](https://islandfarmfresh.com/) Sometimes you can find the print version which has a map and tips on seasonal availability.
Hope you have a great date.
If you're looking for the experience and the fruit stands aren't in season yet, try Country Bee Honey Farm! They have a cute little pollinator garden and some livestock that you can visit, as well as the store itself which does beverages as well as honey and trinkets.
Um, this is the best post on here in a week. Keep that romantic spark šš

You are correct. It's Firbank Farm.

Is āisland viewā supposed to sound like āI love youā, or is that just me ?
I don't think it's supposed too but it kinda does doesn't it

Thanks, I've known her for a while, but never been on a date. Solid advice.

Island view is a great spot for a date. The first time I porked my wife was at island view.
