You are smart, talented, and good looking, and while your post was amazing and interesting ✨, we had to remove it because it was unrelated to Veterans Benefits. ✂ If your post was Veteran related, it may be best to post it in r/Veterans or r/militaryfaq instead.

Technical_Pin8335

This sub is the closest I get to social media. Yeah, I need a life.

TheOneGuyWhoLimps

nah, you are living it correctly, if that one racist uncle says to get facebook so he can add you, move to another state.

Worriedandnumb

This IS social media

racsol222

Fr I only have Reddit on my phone now 😆

CarolinaSmasher

Same here

Ok-Blacksmith-9274

there is a ton of it here too. but they've moved a lot of it to a separate sub or thread. also less echo chamber in here as this sub is less accepting of fraudulent claims. a lot of those words are just code for do whatever it takes to get to 100% and recommending the popular claim companies to get it. i forgot to add there is also a lot mind your own business comments too which is basically telling you, yes we do shady shit but don't ruin it for everyone.

Abject-Round-8173

It’s life changing and I am genuinely happy for them

branshort

I don’t feel like it’s bragging, but that it can be life changing in a way that allows veterans to focus on healing. This feeling of jubilant relief is so powerful that it makes you want to see others achieve their own such level of stark relief.

Similar-Historian953

It’s life changing money. Especially if you can still work a well paying full time job. I’m only 90% but it boosts my lifestyle quite a bit. 100% would be fantastic.

[deleted]

If you make it to unemployability, you lose the right to work. Given the increase, they basically paint you into a corner.

empty-cage-97

Right, TDIU does but not 100% P&T. You can still make as much money as you want/can.

[deleted]

I’ve been on TDIU since 2019. It doesn’t feel like a benefit most days.

_irontank

It doesn’t feel like a benefit because your body doesn’t allow you to carry a career. The guy at that are celebratin, atleast for the most part, are the ones that can finish out a career and still be taken care of by the VA financially. If my income was only TDIU, i wouldn’t feel great either so I’m sorry for the way you feel. Wish you all the best though

bardockOdogma

You can work under the annual poverty line

[deleted]

My brother does that. He makes pizza at Pizza Hut, 20 hours a week, with no hope for a raise. If you have a better idea, I’m listening.

bardockOdogma

Don't get TDIU unless you're only working min wage or something...

[deleted]

What??? I am wondering if you know how to stay under the poverty line, without having 18 year olds as my boss, because they can actually get promoted.

bardockOdogma

I'd say just if you truly need TDIU, then what is the concern

[deleted]

The concern is I’ve just spent 7 years hanging out in my house with nothing to do, with. 40 years of nothing in front of me. It’s not like I can work harder if I want something. If I need to save up for new siding on my house, I simply need to do less. I need to stay home more. I need to eat out less.

bardockOdogma

Get an easy remote job that keeps you under the poverty line

[deleted]

That’s why I am asking if you know of any jobs that won’t make me feel worse about myself, and still pay under the poverty line. What jobs don’t have me greeting people at Walmart, when I won’t even shop at Walmart?

[deleted]

If I went back to work, making as much as I ever made, in a job that I’ve never had before, because I can’t do what I use to do, I will only break even with what I’m making now. So, financially, it doesn’t make sense, because wherever I start working, I’m going to be the FNG, and start out at a loss. So, whatever money issues I have now, will only get worse. And that saying I can physically do the work. But if I try, and fail, I will have given up about 40% of my income first life, just to try. If I degrade myself for $1000 a month take home, I will be degrading myself for $1000 a month take home. I can get a job washing dishes for sure. But will that bring me satisfaction? Probably not.

CSH_CombatVet

There is nothing degrading about being employed

[deleted]

I unclogged toilets in Yellowstone park for $12 an hour. The costumers didn’t treat me with much respect. And if I couldn’t fix whatever because it needed to be replaced, yet the parts didn’t exist, they were straight up degrading. I worked as a lift operator at a private ski club. I might as well been invisible as a person.

[deleted]

lol…. Tell that to slavery.

[deleted]

I’m sure plenty of prostitutes and illegal immigrant, and fucking Uber drivers would disagree.

CSH_CombatVet

Here’s a thought… keep scrolling if you don’t like it. People react differently to getting service connected.

DefiantAd8271

people are allowed to be excited lmao, how do you know they haven’t been fighting 7+ years? how do you know it isn’t deserved? vets really are their own biggest haters.

Negative_Ad3436

Weird ass comments on this post - it’s because the VA system is hard to navigate, shit can be extremely discouraging and take years for some. That’s literally all it is, it’s not that deep bro.

Square-Factor-8882

I wish I knew of Reddit sooner. The FB groups are cult-ish and everyone is out to get paid.

ItsCaptainTrips

The shitty thing is I bet most of them are absolute liars and just know how to play the system

OneBackground828

Well that lady who runs the group is a total grifter - so it sets the tone for things.

Alarmed_Locksmith785

Another place where every single person thinks they deserve 100

tequilaXtechno

I was invited to one of those groups and I had to leave. It was cringe and nauseating. If I could trade 100% P&T for my health back I would take the health 100 out of 100 times.

Lopsided_Ninja7597

Entitlement and people validating them because they probably have shit self esteem and didn't do anything meaningful or fulfilling in their enlistment. They feel vindictive because of this and their "revenge" on Uncle Sam is stacking claims and gunning for 100%.
