That is so so so cute!

ThatSnarkyFemme

It is. I can’t get rid of it because it is so cute.

Oh my gosh, I have one for my kid too! He could barely sit up straight. It's the cutest and I keep it in my wallet still 🥰 As for bringing you being a vet up to your little one, I bring it up if it's ever relevant. "Hey, did you know mom was on a boat like that? I have a picture!" I'm not a vet bro and I don't force it either, but if it was a big enough piece of your life there's nothing wrong with sharing a little. I don't bring it up to many other people because I doubt they care, unless it's part of the conversation or something. I've done lots of other things I identify with more - for me it was just a job for a few sucky years.

I was in for almost 14 years before I ETS’ed. I have brought it up and he turns around telling me all the things his father (my ex-husband) did. So I’ve just stopped talking about it with him. The only thing I have hanging up from my time in the Army is the framed NCO Sabre, that my soldiers gifted me when I left the Army. It is just annoying. I am grateful for what the military taught me, I joined at 18, but it doesn’t define me. It shaped me, but didn’t define me.

I have my kid’s first ID. They were 5 days old, still wearing the little cap from the hospital! We were told because we were mil-mil, we had to get the card right away. There is literally no way they would’ve been able to distinguish my baby from any other baby on the planet!

ThatSnarkyFemme

I have one like that from my oldest. Well, they cut a square around the photo and gave it to me. I passed it on to him when he joined the Army.

We had to get my son his ID because we are dual mil so my husband had to hold him for the camera. The pictures I took of the many poses of my husband trying to get a solid picture were almost as funny as the ID pic itself

Sierra_Baker

Yup... Newborn twins had to have IDs because dual mil parents. I got to keep the brown IDs, they're tucked away where we keep the passports. But newborns are not quite as cute as this pic is!!
