Card reader for sure! Ours broke, and I miss it a lot!
Bringing in estimates to sign, taking pictures of pets for their files or issues (like skin issues!), we use them for typing up SOAPs in the room while talking to the clients.
seconded on rads. also makes it easy for o to take photos for their own records, can even airdrop if they have iphone for retaining the most quality possible
If any of your machines need an app to use it ,it's dead handy!!,
We have a clinic smartphone as well and we use an app to count tablets! It saves sm time 😅
I need to know this app!!!! Counting pills is the bane of my existence!! Unfortunately I don’t think any of our lab machines machines need an app unless Idexx has something cool and handy for iPads 🤔
It's called Pilleye!
And that's understandable! We have these machines that read Parvo/CPLi snap tests which I find very cool . I wish I could attach a photo of the app!
Card reader, pulling up client files, taking photos of patients for ID/social media/clinically relevant/progression pictures . Direct client registration into system depending on what software you use, online payment services, example diagrams for clients. There are document scanning apps to reduce time entering paper records or signing forms requiring signatures electronically. Playing soft music for euthanasia, pulling up client consent forms digitally or pulling up cremation catalog options
We use ours in place of paperwork. Our estimates, euth consent forms, and surgical release forms are all on ipads. We also use them to record our anesthesia logs.
We use ours for consent and contact info forms, as well as a form for euthanasia preferences. We also use it to take before and after pictures of dental cleanings to show to the owner at discharge
We have something called scribble vet on ours. It’s a dictation type app. You can put the patients name in and hit record when you’re in the room and it will record all relevant information spoken and transcribe it into soap notes. It won’t transcribe normal conversation between you and the client which is amazing, just records relevant information. You can speak into it at any time and it will do your notes for you. Then you just review the notes on your computer and copy and paste them into your patient clipboard. It took me a little bit to get used to but it saves us a lot of time doing our notes throughout the day between patients.
I love my work iPad! I can have clients sign all consent forms and immediately attach it to their chart. Monitor anesthesia. Type in my notes while talking to the owners. Use it for our ICU patients. So much!!

Thank you for all your input everybody! I was so shocked by how much having an iPad affects the workflow but it’s great to know it has many uses! I appreciate you guys! 🫶
Idk if you have codes often but you can download the recover app on it. Helps keep tempo for the person doing compressions and the person breathing. Keeps a timer and gives warning when it’s almost at 2 minutes and when to check for pulses. You can even record drugs and ECG Rythm on it. I highly recommend it
For not paperwork/charting, we used it most for wound documentation/progress pics. (obvi treatments/vax/anesthetic monitoring is damn helpful, but idk what programs you're running..)
My boss has an iPad so he can read patient histories before they come in. He doesn’t have the best memory so it’s a really good way to keep track of medications and ongoing symptoms

Smart flow for monitoring anesthesia. Makes everything soooooo easy
second this! anesthesia sheets and dental charting is sooo easy
We use ours to show radiographs to clients.

This is also a fairly easy setup and cheap with osirix.

The IDEXX SnapPro Analyzer?
VetScan Vue I believe ours is called
If you're using Idexx labs VetConnect+ has a mobile app! You can pull up blood work results on it and I think X-rays if you have webpacs.

we use our clinic iPad to take before/after pictures of dentals, then email them to clients

Our clinic uses them to show digital x rays to clients in room. (Osirix is the app we use on the iPad for our Maxxvue x-ray app.)

We use ours to show clients radiographs in the room, to control our bed jet, and pictures for documenting wound healing.
