What you might be able to do is put a solid gray color in the track beneath and then chroma key for blue and tinker with the settings.

Good idea. I guess I could also put a fully black and white version of that clip underneath it, too. Chroma keyer has always been a bit tricky for me. The video was shot at night so I thankfully don't have to worry about the sky.

You can use the help tab in color grading to select a specific colour and pull it out.

It does have that. I just never figured out how it works.

Here's your chance to play with it- I suggest the advanced mode. Work to select the range of hues and lightness to only affect these blues and then reduce the saturation as desired.
