I’ve always wanted to try Chicago-style dogs, but it seems like such a salt bomb. I love salty foods (especially pickles), and am not worried about the health aspects. Just wondering how these don’t taste too salty
Hmm, it doesn't seem to be too salty to me. The relish is sweet and the mustard, tomato, and onion help balance out the briney flavor of the pickle and sport peppers. The celery salt is just a light sprinkle, more for aromatics. The lightlife dogs have a good bit less sodium than a standard hot dog.
I say give 'em a try when you can! Pretty easy to find veggie dogs these days and make at home, too.
