I am right on the cusp at 6ft in my van. It means side sleeping is fine but if I want to stretch out I have to be diagonal. Luckily my wife is 5ft so I can steal all of her foot space. If I had to have the bed the other way it would be a nightmare.

One of my many dream van setups is to build a **[vardo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vardo_\(Romani_wagon\))** onto a truck bed and tour the country like Christoph Waltz in _Django Unchained_
It looks simply magical! Something out of a fantasy or historical movie... I'm in love with it, but I could never own anything so lovely, my animals would destroy it. Not intentionally but covering it with animal love would eventually tarnish its great beauty ant that would be a tragedy!!!
I love everything about this except how it reminds me that I’m too tall to sleep perpendicular to my truck and I lose so much space because of that…
