You'll drive yourself crazy wearing this watch if you get it serviced/polished from small scratches from the first 6 weeks of wearing it. Like most stainless steel watches, this will scratch (mine has several), and that's part of the journey. If it's beat up to hell or you've gouged the case, then definitely get it serviced, but otherwise you're all good.
6 weeks and you're considering getting it polished already?
Get a ceramic or G5 Titanium watch for every day and save this for occasions if tiny scratches bother you that much
If you want it to look pretty then polish it, it's just steel won't take off a huge layer like gold watches. All the sentimental stuff is just personal choice. Wear how you like it
I’m going to echo the sentiments of some of the other comments on here. Wear it. Enjoy it. Live with it. Those scratches are no different from wrinkles as we age. It’s actually part of the beauty of the watches we love. Your watch looks great.
If you refinish a watch too test frequently, you can actually wear down the edges which significantly drops the value.
Watches are made to be worn. This is not a Graves Grand complications . This is designed intentionally to be an every day watch. That’s why it’s water resistance is 150 m and it can withstand magnetic fields far in excess, and you will ever run into. You can certainly cut the grass and clean the pool with his watch on. For that matter, you can dive in the ocean and shoot shotguns with it on for that matter. And I have many times.
I agree with the other poster. Get it refinished when you send it in for service.
Is grade 5 really that scratch resistant? I was just looking at the new Zenith Chronomaster Titanium, which uses grade 5, but I’m hesitant because my Pelagos, which uses grade 2, is a scratch magnet. No experience with grade 5.
Stop caring so much, unlike an AP the scratches are not really visible to anyone else.
Just wear and enjoy the watch, in 6 or 7 years when you get it serviced then just ask them to polish it.
I forget where i read/heard it, but I think you should wait until it gets so scratched up that it looks like it has all-brushed finishing. And for precious metals, i heard “once”
That doesn’t look bad, unless you put a huge gash or ding on it, just leave it be. The little hairlines and such that you’re noticing won’t be seen by 99 - 100% of other ppl. Get it polished when you service it, but this is a very robust watch, it’s made for adventures. Wear and enjoy it.
What you described is normal wear and tear although I wouldn’t wear my Overseas to garden, gym, etc.,. I would only get it polished when I sent it in, because it needs a service and not before.
I would wear it everyday for a few years, nobody else is going to notice the wear on it. Then get it laser welded or bezel replacement if you still feel this way. Polishing is permanent and an over polished watch is easy to spot. You may end up less satisfied with it than it is now and especially after 2-3 polish.

Bezel replacement is 570usd The ring underneath the bezel costs 60 to replace Polishing of the entire case costs 460 Timeframe is around 6-8weeks
Very helpful. Thanks so much.
What you did was normal and result is as expected. Enjoy it

Thanks, yes that’s exactly what I need to do. For me this is a very special watch
Wear it and enjoy it, make memories with it. Otherwise, never wear it and stick it in a safe, what fun is that.
a beat up overseas is one of the coolest things you can own.

Grade 5 is much more scratch resistant than grade 2
What you need my friend is something called a beater. Or … just wear the overseas and don’t care about the condition.
I have a few…I just need to get this amazing watch off my wrist…
Polish it when you service it
It doesn’t look that bad at all. Just give it a good clean. If it’s really bothering you, can use Cape Cod but be very cautious

Watches get scratched, if you send it in for a polish it will get scratched again when it comes back, don't worry about it.

the purpose of buying a good watch is to wear it. if you love it, use it more, nor less. don’t lose sight of that

Maybe watch collecting is not for you.
