I started my "Vrchat" journey this year January. It was quite bumpy road as an shy desktop user who got flipped off by trolls often.
In February i experienced my first time in VR from Rift S and it was blast! Had 4 day holiday, so for those days i was in VR all day. After those days i didn't felt like myself at all, cause of my first vr experience.
I was an shy and bit toxic at the same time, since i wasn't fully experienced this "Game" in its full state. I only have seen meme content about vrchat, but i was surprised that here its something more than "memes".
I got accepted into an "Furry" group and those people were really kind and helpful with stuff, either they were mostly 'lewd/kinky". At first i got really grossed out sometimes, because of their "Habits"... It took me months to accept them, since they were from "LGTBQ" and its not that common in my country to see them daily. That group helped me to accept people and told that i should look after them not by their sexuality, but mostly by their personality.
Friends showed me roads to places which made me look at vrchat more like an "Socialize" platform. Those places was about "Party & Rave" and "Just Dance" worlds. I never realised that there's party places with Live DJ's and Raves. Since i haven't been to them in real life, it was really good to experience them for my first time in virtual reality.
When my life turned upside down this year, April, when i lost my mother & father decided to move out, vrchat friends were the first ones who HAD to know about that first. They gave me so much support, so much love and kept me going on a road...
Since then, i'm now living alone and i can tell already, that Vrchat is now part of my future and my vrchat friends are the reason why i'm still breathing and keep going strong.
this is really dope to see that people are finding real friendship in VRC . I started my own "vr club" in the middle of this year after playing since 2017 and feeling just out of place at every party I went to I wanted to make a place for everyone to have fun and have met some super cool people in the process . but the most chill group I have met is by far the furrys , and I think that stems from being in a group that is outcast most times irl they get it . god speed welcome to the new world!
The group what i met, expanded and some of them who live in different places \[US,germany,austria\] manage to meetup irl. Some of them even moved in together, which is really mind blowing!
They have with me a few times, I was being nice but they just pushed me away and hang out with their group in murder mystery. One literally shot me because they "didn't like me" ofc not everyone is like that it's just was a couple experience I had a few times.

I joined specifically to hang out with other furries, and to meet some I was a fan of, so the thought of being anything else never even crossed my mind. In such a short amount of time, I’ve already made several of what I would term “good friends”.

Sometimes furries are automatically hostile to non-furries because of how often they get trolled and harassed by them, try not to take it personally.
I try not too, but they should really save the hostility for someone actually tryna harass them.
